WWYD for a first date at WDW?

Doesn't that sound awesome? I wonder if you're first date is at WDW if you're locked into a WDW engagement and wedding?
Absolutely a Disney wedding. That's the rule, right? Haha

If you have a monocle, top hat, and ascot, you have women lined up around the street, admit it.
Dressed like that, I have them lined up from Baltic Avenue to Boardwalk. Although I had to end it with the last one when I realized she was only into me for my Community Chest money - I should've questioned her taste when she showed up on a thimble. Now the race car girl - her I liked, but I was going to go directly to jail if I kept that up.

Getting back on topic - there are some very different possibilities looking at the suggestions. Go the dinner, dessert and fireworks route? Or mainly go for some ride time and sightseeing? I like that they all have plenty of opportunity to talk and have conversation (never understood movie first dates) - but they're very different too. I don't think there's a bad choice though.

Go to the Tiki Birds in MK. If your date doesn't like it, dump him/her. :D
Great point - rides and attractions to gauge personality/compatibility. My first trip to WDW was in 1980 - I appreciate the classics. No worries if 7DMT or Pandora is someone's thing, but an inability to sit through IASW or Carousel of Progress might be irreconcilable differences.

You could cobble together a morning tour, an afternoon of rides, and an evening of dinner and fireworks, and you're firmly in third date territory in about 12 hours. Efficient and fun.

But remember, people are on their best behavior on first dates so you might not see their disdain for IASW until you're in double digits.

For me, I'd want to have a drink or 2 to not feel too nervous. So Mk would be out. I like Epcot countries the best.

Oh Wait! You said you guys met through the DIS... that's SOOOO cool! Very excited for you! Keep us posted please!

I now have thoughts of a secret hatred for IASW that festers for years and leads to couples counseling or a Fatal Attraction scenario. And I assumed you meant double digit rides on IASW over time - if that happened in a day we might move right past irreconcilable differences and into cruelty and abuse (even I have my limits).

As noted earlier, the trip report should be .... interesting. Maybe there'd even be dueling TRs - sort of like the opening number ("Summer Lovin") in "Grease" - although probably with fewer poodle skirts and dancing. At least I hope.

I meant double digit dates not rides. I am good for one ride on IASW per trip. Double digits in a day and no one on my boat would make it out unscathed.

Wdw can bring out some less desireable characteristics too (like insisting to ride mission space orange multiple times or poor tipping habits). Hopefully, it'll be disboards perfect.

If you are interested in a more personal/intimate relationship... then I would appreciate it if a guy planned to try to show me that.
Doesn't have to be totally magical or over the top... But, you def. want to be out of the 'friend zone'!!!!

Have a plan-B to end the evening on 'friendly' note if you don't think things are going the way you want.

I would NOT plan a demanding, longer, date... (for ANY first date)
I would plan to meet mid to late afternoon before supper at the most.

No one in the friend zone would be on a date...

You don't know. for sure, until you meet them. (at least I wouldn't)
From the OP it does not seem that they have met in person.
I was just suggesting having a plan-B.
If there are fireworks... (not the WDW fireworks in the air) then, great!

OP asked for ideas to plan a first date... I gave my thoughts.

But, hey... question and flame away!!!!!
A lot of posters here seem to be really good at that.

Meeting up for Food & Wine or Flower & Garden festivals and walking around EPCOT. Gives time to talk, try our new foods, and be at Disney. If it goes bad you aren't stuck and can call it an early day. If it goes well you can keep the evening going by watching Illuminations.

Correct - the assumptions here are the people have not met in person (even if they've talked, FaceTimed, what have you). We can also assume, however, that this is not a situation where one person assumes this is a date while the other person assumes it's just a couple of people hanging out for lack of anything better to do. Most of us have no desire to experience that stomach drop sensation as we ride the Friendship Zone Tower of Uncertainty.

If you are an attorney, I imagine it is similar to that old saying for the profession, you don't ask a question you don't already know the answer to. Good luck if you move ahead with the Disney date. With it being that involved, I can imagine most areas in the park would be fun and enjoyable to get to know someone.

I only dropped in to post a first date horror story. I knew a woman that was asked to fly to Ireland from Georgia on a first date. Rather extreme I thought. She always wanted to see the island and though well enough of the guy so agreed. Well, things didn't go well. She became vicious on the trip, ended up hating the guy and was happy as can be to come.

Hope your travel date goes much more pleasantly.

"Stomach dropping sensation of the Friendship Zone Tower of Uncertainty"!!!
Too funny!!!!!
Hahahaha!!!!

I'll bet with you, the two of you can't help but have a really really great time!!!!
No matter what you plan!

Hey, since you are asking here....
Quick, off the top of your head. What is the first/biggest thing that YOU would want to plan?

Now I am curious...
Inquiring minds want to know!

I'd skip fireworks... feels like trying too hard to be something? Definitely something for a potential future date though.

Nice table service at EPCOT with a walk around World Showcase and maybe somewhere fun for dessert?

ALSO: can I tag along?! ;)
