There's many pros and cons for both weeks -- but crowd wise if both dates are going to be comparably the same we would rather go sooner than later. Any advice much appreciated!

I doubt Jersey Week ever comes close to the crowds at Easter. Easter is nationwide and Jersey week is just, well, Jersey.

I've never been during Easter break before, but are the crowds THAT bad? We're a family that wake up mid morning, like a slow casual breakfast before hitting the parks but will stay at the park prety close to, if not actual, closing time, if that makes a difference crowd wise?

Easter is only second to Christmas in terms of crowds. Rope drop is highly recommended if you're going to go then.

if you want to a "slow casual breakfast" before hitting the parks I wouldn't say Easter week is for your family. If you have a choice. Even if you are planning to stay until closing, if you've never been during a holiday week when park hours are extended you may not be prepared for park hours to be 7am-midnight or 1am daily. The crowds these two weeks won't even compare. Easter week plan for capacity crowds. We've been before and it's totally doable with a solid plan and adept use of ADRs and FP+. It doesn't sound like you have that sort of travel style though. We don't have a choice on when we can go or I would do November in a heartbeat. Like right now I would press GO on the reservations LOL>

I was in Disney this past Easter pre DCL cruise and it was so crowded I would never do it again. We got to the parks early but had to leave the MK by 1pm. There were just too many people for us. We actually had a park day scheduled post cruise and need up skipping it and just hung at the pool.

I'm going Jersey week November 4-11 and can't imagine it being as crowded.

Thank you! Sounds like Jersey Week it'll be although both me and my daughter will be somewhat disappointed having to wait out another 7 months to get our Disney fix. I'm pretty good with FP and ADRs - probably over obsessed in fact when booking days open -- but there are two weeks every year that I particularly enjoy not having to hear the sounds of an alarm clock and not being able to enjoy a slow casual meal before starting our day. I may even ask teacher if she'll give the kid a week off from school/homework to go off holiday entirely but I wont hold my breath on that one. lol

How bad were the airfares for jersey week if you dont mind me asking?

Just remember it's not only jersey week but it's Veterans Day as well as about 20k out for the wine and dine half marathon. We are there this year nov. 4th- 11th and I think it's going to be busy. Most hotels are sold out. I had to pay rack rate at CR. So just a heads up.....

We're going in 2017, Veteran's Day that year falls on a Saturday which means we'll likely hit a heavy park day on that last day but we'll be pretty tired by then anyway. =)

I booked by tickets in April and paid $320pp on United. It was the best I could find and didn't want to wait to book as I figured it was not going to be a cheap time to fly. I have watched flights after I booked on United and Jetblue and they only went up so glad I booked when I did. We are going a Friday-Friday so that helped with price too.

Is that round trip or each way?

Ok that's good but you will still hit the half marathon crowd. Just to give you a gauge, I went on the site and at a little less then 2 months out this November 4-11 has only 4 resorts with availability, the other 25 are sold out. Which again tells me it's going to be pretty busy. So as soon as you can I would jump on the hotel and book what you want. Happy planning!

Thank you - we're booked for the Poly already. Hubby keeps trying to sway me back to the Contemporary TPV.

I was in Disney for Jersey Week last year (2015). I was on the SW site at 6am the morning the fares for my dates were released (which was sometime in MAY). I got a morning flight on that Wed for $126pp and a Late Sunday night flight for $150 pp. This was PHL to MCO. That was the cheapest fare I ever saw. The prices just kept going up.

I am going down again this year for Jersey week. I started looking at airfare in July. The prices on SW, AA, and Delta for jersey week were ridiculous- at least $200pp, even worse for Sunday. I did manage to get a cheap flight on Frontier when they opened up those dates. Frontier released their fares for those dates much later than other airlines.

So, my advice to you is to get your airfare EARLY!

Exactly. Jersey is not a a big state! Yes.... you may run into many people from NJ at your hotel or on the Jungle Cruise or in HDDR (Seriously, last year I think half the restaurant was from Jersey. The actors started making jokes about it) but really...we can't have THAT big of an impact right? I think the combo of Jersey week, F&W, and the marathon is what affects crowds that week... not just us Jersey Folks!
