Ugh...decisions! Party of 5: me, hubby, my mother and almost 4yr old twins. We did AOA Cars Suite when they were just about 2 (worked well when they were in cribs in the bedroom with us and mom on the sofa bed). Last year at almost 3, we did a 1 BR at AKV-Kidani (again, boys in cribs in bedroom with us) and mom on sofa bed. Now that they are in beds, we fear the 1 BR no longer works for us we think. So, we've narrowed down to 2 rooms at POFQ or back to cars suite at AOA, but still considering the 1 BR at AKV.

AOA - beds are smaller for some - hubby is 6'3" so a double sofa bed really doesn't work well for us. Pool area not as nice as the others with less water play area and no slide, but has better eating/kitchen area, etc. And of course price is better ($400 less than POFQ 2 rooms and $800 less than AKV)

POFQ - bed set up works great, but can't guarantee adjoining rooms, but higher chance here than at POR, right? Great pool (although not zero entry) and new play area is fantastic. could have 2 fridges this way for breakfast goodies, which we like to do in the room and still have 2 bathrooms.

AKV - can guarantee being together in one space with 2 bathrooms, but mom is on a twin sleeper, which not sure I love. Full kitchen again for breakfast and snacks and great pool and water play area.

Something is leading me to POFQ...not sure why though.

I would do 2 rooms at POFQ. They won't guarantee adjoining rooms, but is that really a big deal? Have "traveling together" noted on both reservations and hope for the best. That way your mom can have some privacy too, and not have to sleep on a pull out.

I agree with the PP's. I would do 2 rooms. I think it would be the most comfortable set-up. I would make "connecting rooms" my only request.

POFQ the two fridges, bathrooms. Plus if you & DH want a date night Mom can have the twins ( if she is ok with that ;) of course). Agree with a previous poster that if you go that route just make 2 connecting rooms your only request. It is a small resort ( Disney wise) . We have stayed on all 3 floors and haven't notice a significant noise difference . At 4 years old your twins may still be able to use the Splash pool area.

Thank you all! Those are all where we have been leaning and this tips my decision. I appreciate the notes about connecting room as my only request.

Have you considered a cabin in fort wilderness? Just throwing it out there! I think all sound like good options no matter what:)

We have actually. The bunk beds for the kids is what has stopped us for now. Likely another year or so it will be a fantastic choice.

Hands down Animal Kingdom. It’s deluxe. You’ll have a kitchen and washer dryer. All together in one space. Two washrooms. The sleeper chair is very comfortable.

I would do AKL. Honestly I would always go deluxe if given the chance. I know when my kids were that age they would literally sleep anywhere. Blow up mattress, sleeping bags, etc. You'll have two bathrooms, a washer and dryer which is so helpful with little kids and a full kitchen.

Agreed. Having somewhere to stow snacks. You have the living space. So much more comfortable. Great bus serice. Probably the best dining options on property. Amazing pool and water play area. No contest.

And thus continues my tough decision. Both will be fine, but each has their benefits. We have totally removed AOA now for sure.

POFQ. It is a great, compact resort. 2 rooms is, to me, the way to go. And if you are interested in Disney Springs at all, the boat from POFQ is much nicer than taking the bus.

I would do the 1 br. Having laundry in room and a full kitchen are worth it

This was nearly my same quandary! Me, hubby, Mom, and instead of twins a 7 yo and a 9 month old. I wanted to go for the AKL... but my family would rather have the dining than the upgraded room. My second choice was POFQ, but no one liked the idea of separate rooms. AOA it is. :simba: It will be our first stay there. And we share a household at home anyway so we are used to each other.

Two rooms. Adjoining/connecting isn't a huge issue - and everyone has their own space. I wouldn't want mom sleeping on the pull out OR in my room. Nope. She gets her own room. Meet up outside when everyone is ready.

I would choose POFQ as well so my mother would not have to sleep on a pull out sofa. Nice, compact resort with a convenient food court and boat service to Disney Springs. I have always had good bus service there, better than any deluxe, in my experience.
