I have read about 25 pages of the 65 of the Harry Potter Sticky. I haven't read about any other rides or shows in the parks yet.

I'm trying to navigate between old information when it opened and current information. Clarification would be great.

Jaws is closed and diagon alley is going in, correct? What will be in diagon alley? When will it open? While I am trying to plan for the end of June for Universal we have a trip Feb 2014 planned for Disney and would like to know if I should plan to come back to see the new part.

It seems everyone has the same plan. Stay onsite, early entry, do Ollianders, FJ, and 3Broomsticks the proceed with the rest of your day. But, I also read something about the world coming to capacity and getting return times. I also read that this only applies to busy times like xmas and Easter, what about busy times in genereal- like the end of June? I have a health issue and my best time is in the morning so I slow down as the day goes on and if we had to return later on I would have DH and DS go but I would miss out. Even taking a break during the day won't help me. My day goes down hill from 11 am on. The more I try to plan for this the more I am deterred.

I see the two dragon roller coaster inverts so that is a no for me and I've read that the FJ is abrupt and you can't have anything other than a fanny pack(which isn't a concern). Does this ride make you feel as though you will lie on your back or tip upside down?
Haven't read much about the other ride but somewhere it said family friendly so I presume this will not go upside down?

Hogwarts itself- you can walk through or take the line for the ride? I read on the thread that you could but then read at busy times you can't because they use the walk thru as overflow? What's correct? Also how long does it take to just walk through and not wait for the ride on average? Are there steps to climb or inclines? What do you see in Hogwarts? I apologize if I just asked a question that is answered in one of the 40 pages I have not read yet.

I'm trying to read and learn but appreciate any answers you give and sorry I am full of so many questions.
TIA

No one knows when HP2 will be ready. Some say sometime next year others seem to think 2015. Universal still hasn't officially announced it yet so who knows when it will open. I think February of 2014 is going to be way too early. If anything, it won't be until the end of 2014 and that's not certain.

Feb. 2015 would be a much better bet. There is a very long way to go yet.

FJ does lie you on your back in parts. There is a walk though Hogwarts but not during busy times, just like you said.

End of June isn't too bad normally but this year, with the transformer ride opening, it will be "very" crowded. Next February, if not during a holiday, should be low to moderate crowds.

So it is possible with Transformers opening that it will be busy where they wouldn't have the walk through for FJ and we could wind up with a return time to the whole area if it reaches capacity?

I think I'm going to take a break from this. I've been reading all afternoon and evening and everytime I get answers I am a little more convinced it's not for us despite DS9 wanting to see the whole Harry Potter thing.

I don't think it will be that busy that the WWoHP won't have the walk through. That is more at Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Just go first thing in the morning and you can do it. Things wouldn't close up until mid day. You can always just walk through the queue if the tour is closed anyways. Just don't ride at the end.

Yes.

I think you need to be really careful about the dates that you're reading reviews/reports from, so you don't get overwhelmed with info that doesn't concern you. Maybe look specifically (or start a thread if you can't find it) about *recent* really busy times and if people have been given times to come back, or turned away. Not from 2011, but from last summer and this last holiday season. But since you're thinking summer, look at last summer. Not before then.

And remember that if you're staying onsite, you get in an hour early than the offsite/day visitor masses. And not everyone gets up that early, just like at Disney! Since your better hours are early, that works out well for you. You're going when others are still sleeping.

I've never done "the walkthrough", but DH and DS have *walked through* with me when I was riding and they weren't. (DS was too nervous at 6, and DH is still too "Shrek-sized" to ride) That way they saw exactly what I was seeing, and we saw it together.

The inside of the castle has neat projections, has the storyline (if your ears can understand the audio system), and it has the paintings with subjects that move. Honestly that's THE coolest thing about the castle, is how they did the paintings.

there are a couple of trip reports that talk about parry hotter and show pictures of the area from their vacation.

that might be a way to gain more info on that section.

Yes, Thank you. I will get to the trip reports. Making my way through the stickies. Probably evenings during the week or next weekend. I try to read the beginning of the thread for so many pages and then the end for the most current info and then back fill all the rest. It also depends on the topic as well.
