WWE'S Chris Benoit and his family found dead!

Well the media seems to think that steroids made this actor kill his family, which I find to be completely groundless, but if they truly believe that, then actors should obviously not be allowed to take steroids.

An empty bottle of wine and 10 empty beer cans were found near Benoit's body, but the media has no desire to cover that because they want this to have been caused by steroids.

Well obviously the media did cover this since you know about it and I have seen it on the news as well.

It seems that now it's wrestlings turn with a steroid scandal, like it was baseball before.

Their turn??? They had thier turn back inthe 80's with Vince vs Hulk Hogan vs the government!

Yesterday on one of the CNN news shows they had a former wrestler being interviewed, they mentioned that over the last 5 years 60 pro wrestlers under the age of 45 have passed away.

Being close to 40 myself this left me in shock.

I can see to an outsider why that would be shocking...not to me however. You have to realize that these entertainers work about 300 days a year, which is a about4 nights a week on average. (their only real vacation is getting a few weeks off at christmas is about it.)

Like I have posted before the ring that people seem to think is so fake and does not hurt...hurts like HELL!! the ring is nothing more then a single spring(in the center) a lot of steel beams and a bunch of wood.

These 2 factors lead far to many of them to get into taking painkillers (from asprin to perscription) many of the deaths have been linked with OD's of painkiller and or the deadly coctail of Painkillers and alcohol.

Sadly, There is no middle ground for wrestlers either they die young or die really old. And most of them live with pain for their professional life.

It's sad indeed and I think that the wrestlers should get a month of here or there to heal up. That is one of the places I fault Vince mcmahn(at least for the wwe) TNA wrestling is much more leanient with time off.

I saw that too...and you are right the media isn't running with the fact he could have been drunk off his @_$ and commited the murders because it is much more controversial to go the roid route.

I was wondering if anyone else here had heard this story. This keeps getting more and more strange! Do you think she has messed with their minds too much or something?

I don't think she probably had any contact with benoit...more then likely she was nothign more then a ring girl at wrestlemania. They do nothing more then stand around and clap once in a while.

The media's witchhunt on this issue is almost comedic to me at this point. Whenever an area that I have a depth of knowledge in is discussed in the media, I see/hear the loads of errors that are reported. This Benoit case is another example of that.

I just heard Geraldo claim that Sherri Martel died the same day as Nancy Benoit, something that is completely untrue. She died about 2 weeks ago.

I heard another reporter ask if Sherri's death was related to steroids. Wrestling valets do not take steroids, and Sherri's death had nothing to do with the Benoit case. She died two weeks ago, she was an addict, the media wants to create something that doesn't exist. In fact Geraldo suggested that this could be a quadruple murder.

It's dumbfounding.

You are not kidding!!! the media just doesn't do it's job in actually researchign before they open their mouths...go a few pages back and you can see my rants about how bad the interviews with Vince and Linda were this morning on today and good mourning. I won't go into it again..but man did they have alot of stuff wrong!

His last actions will be his legacy.

Exactly.:thumbsup2

you do realize that they are SPECULATING about how Daniel was killed because of the lack of bruising. I actually think a choke hold WOULD cause some bruising. FURTHERMORE. The toxicology reports are NOT back yet so they don't know what Daniel was injected with. He had a documented medical condition (see article below) that Human Growth Hormone injections can be used as a treatment for.

I don't care HOW he did it, the point is he killed his son. There is no excuse for that. I can't believe some people are trying to defend this "man".

This case is getting stranger by the minute. Allegedly someone had edited wikipedia to say that Nancy Benoit was dead hours before police even came to the house.

I do agree with what Ticketman said. The issue I have is that their only pointing to steroids. They keep asking the same questions but in different ways about steroids. Even if he was on steroids their had to be something devastatingly wrong with Benoit to have him killed his child. I don't know if we will ever be able to find out the truth.

Okay, I don't get one thing. People are saying Benoit tested clean in April, but then there are reports that he was taking steriods for a neck injury. How could he test clean if he is taking steriods "legally"? Do they overlook the fact that there are traces of steriods in his system if he has a prescription? If so, do they check to see that the level of steriods he has in him equates to what a real doctor (not this drug pusher they are talking about now) would prescribe?

And if he hasn't been tested since April, he could have ingested quite a bit in the last 2 months without the WWE's knowledge.

It doesn't take much of that crap to affect some people. DW Lauri was put on them for a short time to help her autoimmune disease and she had to tell them to get her off of them. Besides not helping the problem they were supposed to, she said it made her feel like a totally different person, and one she didn't like and was scared of.

Please show me where people are defending him?

Benoit's page on Wikipedia, a reference site that allows users to add and edit information, was updated at 12:01 a.m. Monday, about 14 hours before authorities say the bodies were found. The reason he missed a match Saturday night was "stemming from the death of his wife Nancy," it said.

Reporters informed the Fayette County district attorney's office of the posting Thursday, and the agency forwarded the information to sheriff's investigators, who are looking into it, a legal assistant said in an e-mail to the AP.

WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt said that to his knowledge, no one at the WWE knew Nancy Benoit was dead before her body was found Monday afternoon. Text messages released by officials show that messages from Chris Benoit's cell phone were being sent to co-workers a few hours after the Wikipedia posting.

WWE employees are given WWE e-mail addresses, McDevitt said, though he did not know whether Chris Benoit had one.

"I have no idea who posted this," McDevitt said. "It's at least possible Chris may have sent some other text message to someone that we're unaware of. We don't know if he did. The phone is in the possession of authorities."

On Thursday afternoon, the Wikipedia page about Benoit carried a note stating that editing by unregistered or newly registered users was disabled until July 8 because of vandalism.

In other developments Thursday, Ballard told the AP that 10 empty beer cans were found in a trash can in the Benoit home. An empty wine bottle was found a few feet from where Benoit hanged himself, Ballard said.

The link provided in this thread didn't mention it but the news report I heard yesterday said that she did in fact have a connection to Benoit, that she dated both men. They were saying that she would go back and forth between the two men. Who knows if it is true but I did hear it on several stations. Either way, it is odd.

I'm not DEFENDING him at all.

But the !%!$@%#& OMG !&!^@@!!# attitude some people have coupled with believing every media report as absolute fact is annoying. Especially when there are posts that dig deeper.

Seeing OMG!!!##$$@%^ HE INJECTED HIS SON WITH STEROIDS!!!! all bolded and in caps rubs me the wrong way. Couple that with the posts bashing other posters who are trying to have a rational discussion of understanding and it gets old, quickly.

I completely agree that the man went off the deep end and he probably got better than he deserved. However, that does mean I'm going to blindly believe media reports from sources who until this happened had no clue who Chris Benoit was.

You will get over it. Seems that they still think the choke hold was used and are waiting on toxocology to see if the boy was injected with steroids. I think that is worthy of OMG!! This is obviously something you care deeply about, I just care that a poor 7 year old child was viciously murdered.

Now, the WIKI poster has come forward this morning (annonymously) saying his post was just a coincidence - this same poster has been warned about other wrestlers profiles that he/she's edited in the past and not edited in a nice way.

Sounds to me like someone out there has an axe to grind with the WWE, wonder who and why.

Poster Calls Wikipedia Entry On Benoit Murders 'Coincidence'

POSTED: 10:23 am EDT June 29, 2007

ATLANTA -- A user off the Web site Wikipedia has confessed to making edits to pro wrestler Chris Benoit's profile mentioning the death of Benoit's wife before authorities had found her body.

The anonymous user acknowledges in a lengthy post added to the Web site early today being "deeply sorry" and calls the situation a "terrible coincidence."

The edits were originally reported by Wikinews, an online news source connected to Wikipedia. Today's post was added to a discussion page for the Wikinews story. Wikinews says the I-P address of the individual is identical to that of the user who edited Benoit's profile early Monday to include that Benoit's wife was dead.

The poster did not identify himself or herself.

The individual acknowledged being from Stamford, Connecticut, the home of World Wrestling Entertainment. In the message, the individual claimed NO connection to WWE.

If you don't, who cares. This is obviously something you care deeply about, I just care that a poor 7 year old child was viciously murdered.

You are right, I will. The journalist in me doesn't like the absolutes. I would be ok with an:

OMG they are saying he may have used a choke hold and given Daniel steroids. HOW horrid!

Believe me, as someone's who's step-mother was murdered, I don't take murder lightly. I lived in fear for YEARS of the people involved. I know that type of fear.

RadioNate, I get ya! I understand your post and totaly agree.

I am sure that someone will post that we are "defending him and blah blah" but just wanted you to know that I gottcha!;)
