WWE'S Chris Benoit and his family found dead!

Ok call me confused but where have you seen anyone say that he should be honoured for his athletic abilities after ther reports surfaced that he killed his family???????????????????????

Ok so nobody said he should still be "honored", it was more like "still respect his athletic accomplishments" or "separate these acts from his athletic career."

I'm sorry that you can't look at a match of his from 10 years ago and still be able to say "Wow that was a great match!" if it was in fact a great match.

I can. It doesn't mean I'm honoring him, or celebrating him or even FORGIVE him for what he did. It doesn't mean I still think he was a great man. He wasn't. He was a horrible man. Horrible terrible and I do hope he burns in hell.

My image of him was shaken. I have been shaken the last few days. Now I'm just angry. There are a lot of WWE fan that agree with my sentiments. It doesn't make them, or me bad for feeling that way. So I would appreciate it if you please stopped trying to make us out to be bad just because you don't agree with our sentiments. We're not glorifying him, we're not praising him. If you still read that after this, then I guess there's really no hope for you.

He will be remembered for being a coward who murdered of his wife and little boy then took his own life. He was indeed a great athlete but that will be forgotten. WWE is scripted but the stunts, and that's what they are, take real athletes to perform.

I Love how people don't go back and read post that are a few pages back!!!
I posted a whole article about the syndrom that the son Daniel(will you people please start to show him some respect, he had a name it was daniel not the little kid!) Go back and look....The kid was on growth hormones for this.

Second, the wrestling hold thing is completely false!!!

Please go back and read my post(tons on pages 14-16) I posted a ton of info from last night.

What I said above does not excuse the fact that what happened was not sick and horrendous..but stop believeing everythinghe media is trying to say as much of it(roid rage) is 100% speculation (and probably untrue- RR doesn't last 2+days) Waint until we get more official police press releases/conferences.

.

I could NEVER ever watch himm wrestle..Ever.. All I would ever be able to do is to think of what he did to the people he was supposed to love and protect...I can't watch OJ either

And you know, that's you. But that's not me. I could still watch an old match, but I would sit there and wonder what happened to him. There are a lot of people that agree with me.

I'm not really sure why you're being so defensive.. You asked a question. I answered. I didn't say you were *wrong* for still being able to watch him..I just can't

If me quoting something similar to what you posted offends you...

it is not my fault you feel your own words being quoted equals me trying to make you look bad, if they are your words and you stand by them why would you care if I quote them?

You can continue to respect his athletic career all you want, I have not asked you to stop. Somebody posted a question and I clarified.

I'm probably being so defensive because quite a few things I've said earlier in the thread have been questioned, so I thought you were possibly doing the same thing. I apologize.

I posted part of this(the text part) a few pages back but here is a more complete timeline with phone calls....

Below is a detailed WWE/Chris Benoit timeline from Saturday to Monday:

Saturday, June 23, 2007

Chris Benoit was scheduled to appear at the WWE SmackDown/ ECW live event in Beaumont, Texas

3:30pm
A co-worker received a voice message from Benoit. The message from Benoit stated he missed his flight and over slept and would be late to the WWE Live Event. The co-worker called Benoit back, Benoit confirmed everything he said in his voice message and sounded tired and groggy. Benoit then stated, “I love you”. The co-worker stated that it was “out of context.”

3:42pm
The same co-worker was concerned with Benoit’s tone and demeanor and called Benoit for a second time. Benoit did not answer the call and the co-worker left a message stating “just call me back.”

3:44pm
Benoit called the co-worker back stating he didn’t answer the call because he was on the phone with Delta changing his flight. Benoit stated he had a real stressful day due to Nancy and Daniel being sick with food poisoning. They discussed travel plans for the WWE Tour of Texas with Benoit still sounding groggy at this point according to the co-worker.

4:30pm
A co-worker who consistently travels with Benoit, called Benoit from outside Houston airport and Benoit answered. Benoit told the co-worker that Nancy was throwing up blood and that Daniel was also throwing up. Benoit thought they had food poisoning. Benoit stated he changed his flight and he would be arriving into Houston at 6:30pm. Benoit told the co-worker to drive onto the WWE event.

5:35pm
Benoit called WWE Talent Relations stating that his son was throwing up and that he and Nancy were in the hospital with their son, and that Benoit would be taking a later flight into Houston, landing late, but would make the WWE live event in Beaumont.

6:10pm
A representative of Talent Relations called Benoit. The representative from Talent Relations asked Benoit what time Benoit was getting into Beaumont. Benoit responded he was leaving Atlanta at 9:20pm Eastern time arriving into Houston at 9:24pm Central time. The representative from Talent Relations advised Benoit that it would be too late to make the WWE live event in Beaumont. Benoit apologized citing he had a family emergency. The representative from Talent Relations suggested to Benoit that instead of going to the WWE live event in Beaumont, Benoit should take the flight to Houston, rest up and be ready for the Vengeance Pay-Per-View event.

6:13pm
The representative from Talent Relations called Benoit to reconfirm the travel plans with no answer from Benoit. The representative from Talent Relations left a voice message to take the flight and rest up.

Trust me, it's not just things I've said. It's the way you've questioned things that many of us have said. You've tried your best earlier in the thread to twist what I and others have said to your own use. I never implied some of the things you have claimed earlier that I did, it is what you read into it. But while you've not asked me to stop respecting his career your many eye roll smilies and the way you word things just screams implied sarcasm when you talk about it.

I stand by the words I said yesterday and Monday. I also know how shaken up I was those days. I didn't want to believe that he had done the things he has for the longest time. *shrugs* That's pretty much all I have to say on this subject at this point. I'm tired of trying to fight a losing battle and I'm tired of feeling like I have to defend my thoughts and actions because they're getting quoted with the roll eyes smiley or twisted out of proportion.

Shouldn't be a problem unless you have old matches of his on tape, it's highly unlikely that you'll ever see a replay of one of his matches on TV ever again after the backlash WWE took for the Raw show on Monday.

Feel free to post examples of me using the rolleyes smilies or me putting words in your mouth...

I dare you.

Regardless what he did - we should honor him for his great "athletic" abilities and what he did in the wrestling world, and just forget about all of this.

:sad2:

I think this is the post Rayani is talking about. Maybe she thought it was you because of the tigger banner.

I think this is getting way out of hand. I don't want the thread to be closed. Please stop attacking each other.

KEVIN SULLIVAN, CHRIS NOWINSKI, STEVE BLACKMAN, OTHERS COMMENT ON TRAGEDY TO MEDIA
by Mike Johnson @ 10:34:00 AM on 6/27/2007

The New York Times covered the Benoit tragedy today in a long article that features comments from former WWE star Chris Nowinski, who's now renowned for his work in research for concussions and Nancy Benoit's ex-husband, former WCW star/booker Kevin Sullivan at this link. Sullivan praised Benoit as a performer and said he was at a loss to explain what happened.

It was noted that Nowinski is trying to persuade the coroner examining Mr. Benoit to allow a brain exam to look for neurofibrillary tangles in the brain’s cortex, which has been refused in the past. Nowinski has previously been able to link the suicide of former NFL defensive back Andre Waters to concussion induced depression based on forensic work done on Waters' brain matter. “Part of me hopes there was something wrong with his brain,” Nowinski told the Times. “The Chris Benoit I knew was always more concerned about everybody else’s well-being than his own.”

Former WWE star Steve Blackman was interviewed by PennLive.com to discuss the Benoit family tragedy at this link. Blackman noted that he considered Benoit one of his best friends when he was wrestling and says he doesn't want to think Benoit murdered his own child, so he's waiting to see what the full story is and comes out. I think we are all waiting for those answers, but who knows if and what will ever come to light.

Del Wilkes, the former Patriot in WWF, WCW and Global Wrestling, was interviewed by CNN's America This Morning about the Benoit tragedy. You can read a transcript by clicking here.

BRIAN CHRISTOPHER APPEARS ON CNN'S ANDERSON COOPER TO DISCUSS DRUGS IN WRESTLING, BENOIT TRAGEDY
by Eric Lewis @ 10:45:00 AM on 6/27/2007

I don't know if anyone caught this, but Brian Christopher (Jerry Lawler's son) was interviewed on Anderson Cooper's CNN show last night. He came off OK, and while Anderson wasn't being unfair, he was pushing the "wrestlers always die early because of steroids" thing.

Before the live interview, a video package aired that showed a quick clip of Christopher saying (and this is almost a quote): "If you make it to 45 in this business, I'm shocked!" Christopher later said they played that clip out of context and he meant if you get through the grind of working in the business and get out successfully by 45, that's what surprises him.

Another clip that Christopher said was played out of context was him saying he had 11 friends who'd died in wrestling over the last few years. Christopher said later that not all of those deaths were drug related as implied. He mentioned Owen Hart, saying that obviously had nothing to do with drugs. Anderson kept pushing the drug button, and Christopher admitted it's a problem in the business, but said he believed steroid abuse was much more prevalent 10 or 12 years ago.

He said while he's not working for a major company now, he's been backstage at various events and said a lot of the guys have told him the wrestling companies (he didn't specify WWE) have strict anti-drug policies now, so a lot of it has been cleaned up. Overall, Christopher came off OK, if a little uncomfortable looking on TV.

At first I thought he was going to call out the industry because of drug use, but once he was live on the mic, he tried to downplay drugs in the industry. That was the gist of his segment, then Anderson mentioned how much money WWE made in the last fiscal year ($400 million according to him) and mentioned that they averaged 20 million viewers a week.

More to come in a moment.

Ok so nobody said he should still be "honored", it was more like "still respect his athletic accomplishments" or "separate these acts from his athletic career."

I said that and you know I did. The two things are separate and you are just trying to stir the pot. Good luck on that.

You still haven't pointed out anything that says Chris Benoit should be honoured after it was stated that he murdered his family.

I could NEVER ever watch himm wrestle..Ever.. All I would ever be able to do is to think of what he did to the people he was supposed to love and protect...I can't watch OJ either

I can understand that sentiment. It doesn't, however, change that he was a talented wrestler who had many fantastic matches during his career.
