Erika good luck with the new meeting tomorrow. I hope you get the support you need. If not check in here daily and we'll all offer what we can.

Morning all and congrats to all with the great weight loss results. A bit :thumbsup2 to those staying OP even after little gains. None of us is perfect and we all have little bumps(sometimes HUGE bumps ) in the road sometimes.
Tiggerlover -I have those 100 -cal Hostess muffins. I  them. They definitely do take the edge off a sweet attack! Have you had the cookies. I saw those in the WW magazine i picked up yesterday but, have not looked for them in the store yet.
Must get to work. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I saw the cookie ad as well, I just haven't found them in any of the stores around my house.....but I will keep looking!!! If you find them I would love to hear what you think about them.

Hi All! I am new to WW though not new to WISH! My name is Erika and I just started WW a weeks ago (though my first meeting was just on Tuesday). I hope you have room for one more on this thread! :goodvibes I have 21 pounds to lose (already lost 14 before joining WW).

I am active on some of the other WISH threads, so that I thought I would just copy/paste my story from my other thread here...this tells about my WW experience.

Ok, so the good news is that I have since LOST 2 pounds! :cheer2: After a 3-week plateau, that is a huge relief! The rest of the good news is that I am going to try a different meeting tomorrow. It is about half an hour away, which is a major drag (especially considering gas prices), but if it is inspiring, educational, and helpful then it is worth it, right?

Otherwise, I am LOVING the program. Prior to starting WW I was doing South Beach Diet. While I had some success with that, I hated it (carb addict here), and of course, I hit that dreaded plateau.

Happy to be a part of this thread! :goodvibes

Erika

:welcome: Congratulations on your loss to date, that is great! I have to say I am truly sorry for your first meeting experience, but I totally agree you should try another meeting. When I first went to WW I tried a meeting and didn't feel that anyone was welcoming, I actually thought the leader was a little berating. So after a couple of meetings, which were 5 minutes from my house, I made the big decision to go to a meeting located 20+ minutes away and I have to tell you it made a HUGE difference. My second leader is a super person and she makes going to the meetings worth while, she is an awesome leader. I hope you have a much better experience at your new meeting.

I saw the cookie ad as well, I just haven't found them in any of the stores around my house.....but I will keep looking!!! If you find them I would love to hear what you think about them.

I checked my SuperWalMart last night and couldn't find them. I've checked Publix also. No luck. gonna keep trying. Will let you know :thumbsup2

Morning all! hope everyone had a wonderful OP evening.

Hello everybody, I had my WI today and I am down .6. I was expecting more since I had a stomach virus this past Wednesday and all I had to eat for the day was 20 Saltines. My WI was also a day late because I was still recovering on Thursday, my usual WI day.

Hi everyone!

Ok, so here is an update on my follow-up WW meeting. I decided to suck it up and drive the half hour to what had to be a better meeting.

And it totally was! SO much better! In fact, when I was registering for the meeting, I was chatting with the WW staffer and explained that I had been at this other meeting the other day and I had a terrible experience. She piped right up and said "oh honey, that guy is a pain in the butt! You didn't hear that from me, though..." I was SO excited to hear her say that! It made me feel like it wasn't MY issue! She explained that he does have a loyal following, though, so that is why is allowed to continue to run meetings. And clearly his following is little old ladies.

They would not weigh me today, though (which is, of course, fine with me! :rotfl2: ) as it is their policy to only weigh in once a week and I weighed in on Tuesday.

So I have a points questions for all of you WW pros out there...

I have been on a plateau for three weeks and I am so frustrated! I have been doing EVERYTHING right. Really eating carefully (tracking it all), working out 5x per week, drinking 64 ozs. of water each day, etc. I am NOT using my flex points or my activity points (maybe a total of 5 flex points a week). At the meeting today, someone said that I should definitely be using all of those points.

What do you think?

It seems like I would be indulging WAY too much and eating too much food if I actually ate every flex and activity point. All comments welcome...I am brand new and happy to hear every and all opinions! :goodvibes

3DisneyKids- So glad to hear you found a meeting place that is more welcoming. As far as the flex points, yes you should eat them. You can incorporate them in to your diet in healthy ways or have a splurge night. Say 2 pieces of pizza instead of 1. I have heard many many times that you should eat them, that is what they are there for. Also, have you heard of the Wendy (Wendie?) plan. You may be able to google it or find it on the WW web site but, she developed it for just that reason. She hit a plateau and she found by changing her points value (maybe 30 for a couple days then 22 some) it helped her start losing again. Not sure if I explained that exactly right but, I think I get the basic premise. Anyone else ever heard of it?

3Disneykids...
so glad to hear your second attempt at a meeting went much better. I have a friend that had a similar experience at a meeting right down the road from her house and she now travels further away to a much better meeting (and leader!)

As far as the flex points, yes you should be using them as well as your daily points and activity points. I know it sounds backwards to eat more to lose more, but it really does work. I was doing the same thing as you; sticking to just my daily points thinking it would improve my weight loss, when it actually starting slowing it down. I started using the activity points and most of the flex points each week and my weight loss increased.

Give it a try...I think you will see a difference.

Here's what I found on the Wendie Plan from the WW message boards:

The Wendie Plan IS the Flex Plan - with rules about how much of your Weekly Points Allowance to use each day. If you follow the Wendie Plan exactly, you'll have used 27 of your 35 weekly points by the end of the week.

Day 1: Eat daily target points + 5 weekly points
Day 2: Eat daily target points + 1 weekly point
Day 3: Eat daily target points + 15 weekly points
Day 4: Eat daily target points
Day 5: Eat daily target points + 4 weekly points
Day 6: Eat daily target points + 2 weekly points
Day 7: Eat daily target points

So I guess the answer is: Stop following the Wendie Plan when you tire of the rigidity, and prefer to use your WPA to suit your life

Also it could be what you are eating not just your points. My leader stresses to us not to eat the frozen meals for lunch everyday. We should limit ourselves to only 2 a week. The sodium in those are extreme. Also the veggies and fruit are great but eating cabbage and broccoli (plus others) right before a weighin will make you retain water weight. Another thing is the "free or zero pt." foods you have to limit to 5 a day. More than that you you have to point them. Just a few hopefully helpful tips that I've picked up lately.

Morning all! hope everyone had a wonderful OP evening.

I am going to check around too, I hear Kroger carries a lot of WW products, if I have time I will see if they have the cookies.

I've been losing and gaining the same 2 pounds for the last month. Since the WW at work program ended, I've been trying to do it on my own without too much success. I spend last week exactly on program starting on Monday, UNTIL Sunday evening, when I went crazy! Then I just floated thru this week, not writing anything done, etc.

So any, I am back, writing, drinking my water, eating my veggies, counting points. I have been exercising which is good, so I plan to continue that.

First of all, I am happy to hear you weren't disappointed with the meeting that was further away! It is so important to find a meeting that suits your needs, there are so many different people in this world and there is a right fit everywhere, you just need to find it.

Do answer your question, you are not eating enough. If you are working out 5x a week and you aren't eating any of your flex points or your activity points than you are depriving your body of fuel. Food fuels the body and revs up the metabolism and that is what helps burn calories. I would not recommend eating all of your flex points and all of your acitvity points, but I would definitely start eating more. For me, I find if I eat my weekly points and my flex points I will lose, but if I am doing that I do not eat my activity points. You may have to play around with it for a couple of weeks to see what combination will work for your body. But I am almost sure if you eat a bit more you will see more of a loss (as strange as that may seem).

Good luck.

Sorry you were disappointed in your loss for the week, but happy to hear you had a loss. If may not be until the next WI that you see a significant loss, sometimes it takes a few days for our weight to balance out.

Thanks, everyone, for the advice. It looks like everyone is saying the same thing...eat more! That is something I love to hear! Ok...sign me up and bring it on! :lmao:

I was chatting with one of my girlfriends today who is sort of doing WW...she is tracking points, etc. but is just doing it on her own...no meeting and no online membership. Here is what she is doing...eating all of her daily points, eating all of her flex points, doing ZERO activity, and NOT drinking water...and she is losing a consistent 2 pounds per week! I was like...WTH? I am doing EVERYTHING right and not losing, and you are doing this kinda half-a$$ed and losing more than me???? Very discouraging. So, now I know...I will eat at least some of my flex points.

Good tip about the frozen meals. I am eating some of those...not every day, but more than 2 per week. I will try to be more aware of sodium.

I am so grateful for all of you and for this thread! It is making this program so much more doable for me! :grouphug:

Keep in mind that every body is different and responds differently to weight loss. Does your friend have more weight to lose than you? Often times if you are heavier, you lose faster than someone who doesn't have as much to lose. Also, what were her eating habits before, did she eat like crazy? If she did all of the restrictive eating she is doing will make her lose. As far as exercise goes, I lost 65 pounds total, but 25 of those pounds were lost without any exercise at all. If you are doing this to get healthy than exercise should be a part of your life in addition to doing weight watchers. It is hard not to compare ourselves to others, it is just human nature, but always remember you are unique unto yourself and you will lose the way your body wants you to lose. :)

Morning Losers! :thumbsup2
I had a pretty good OP weekend. They are the hardest for me. My work pants are loose on me and I'm lovin' it. Hopefully, I will be able to get into a size smaller by next week. that would be so awesome.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I know how discouraging it is. My sister and I are both doing WW. I have more to lose than her, and do everything right. She cheats and eats junk all the time, then at Weigh in she loses more than me!  But I gotta love her!:lmao:
