Hello everyone. I have just found this thread. I have been on WW again since Sept. I have lost 21.2lbs since then. Just 80 more to go.

Hi Tina. I'm also from Louisiana. Congrats on the twenty one pounds. My meeting is today at noon (week 2). I must say I'm a little nervous because my scale at home doesn't seem to be moving this week and I have truly stuck to the plan. I hope all goes well and I'll report back this afternoon.

Good morning weight watchers!! Lots of you are doing just awesome losing! Congratulations to all of you. You are inspiring to those of us who have not been doing so well.:cool1:

I am up .4 this week, as expected. Actually, I expected a lot more, since my eating had been crazy last week. Had a few celebrations, and stopped journalling which is usually a big downfall for me. The one thing I am continueing to do right is exercise every morning but one per week. And on the weekend, since I had been so bad eating, I did 1 hour of exercise each day, and it really saved me. I am back on track as of yesterday, writing every little thing down, and forsee no big eating challenges ahead of me. Next week I hope to be back on the losing side. I really want to lose 6 more pounds in the next 5 weeks before my disney trip.

Hang in there anyone who is struggling.:grouphug: We will get there, slow and steady, 2 steps forward, and 1 step back. Life is full of ups and downs, and we can make the best of it, and see more downs on that scale.

Good luck all!!:cheer2:

Morning all!
CMedley78-fingers crossed for you to make your personal goal. Hope you feel better soon.
Hey Tina - WooHoo on the great loss of 21 so far. You are doing spectacular. :dance3:
GrumpysWife - good luck at weigh in today. Mine is also at noon, I hope to at least stay the same so any loss would be great today!
Kathy - I'm with ya on the over celebrating this week but, I have journaled it all. So great that you kept up the exercise part. Somehow I have got to get a regular routine going myself. That would really help on those "off" eating days I sometimes have.
Hope everyone has a wonderful easy OP day! Will report back later on my results.

Good Morning!

I am new to this board. My husband and I (Lauren) finally started going to meetings after trying to do it on out own for the past few months.

We seem to benefit from the meetings and I am proud to say, I have lost 5#s in the first week! :cool1:

I need to lose between 30 and 40 #s but we are trying to get pregnant so I at least want to be on track with my eating and exercise and continue WW if I am blessed. I have researched and with modifications it is OK to be on WW while pg.

My goal for next week is 2#s.

Good luck all!

just back from WI and I am down .8 this week. I was so nervous to get on the scale because I was really bad last week. I was so sure I was going to gain, so the .8 was a nice surprise!

I set my goal this week. A friend of mine did WW (before she got pregnant) and made lifetime last year. She recommended I set my WW goal a few lbs higher than I really wanted to be to give myself a little wiggle room. I am .4 from my WW goal, but in my mind the weight I would truly like to get to is 3.4 lbs lower than I am right now. Does anyone else do this?

cepmom - congrats & yes. I actually had a leader kinda tell me to set my goal at the high end of the scale. that way I would be lifetime, not have to pay for meetings and still be able to continue to go.
Down another 1lb this week. I'll take it, wasn't expecting it. So, I was greatful for any loss.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I hope everyone's weigh in was good this week! My weigh in is on Monday so I have a while to keep trying to lose.

I'm just getting back from Weight Watchers and I'm down 1.6 for week two. I got my first five pound star for my bookmark. That was a really great feeling. I'm looking forward to getting the next one.

Keep up the good work everybody.

I am only down .8 this week. I know that I didn't loose as much this week due to me not eating all my points. I will try to eat more this week.

:cool1:  :cool1:

Only down .4 but I guess it's beter than a gain.

Logged 39 miles of walking for the month on the TM so I thought for sure I would do better but will wait and see how things progress.

Of to Disney next week and worried about staying on program. I'll try my best.

My thought is any loss is better than a gain so it deserves to be celebrated!! 39 miles of walking for the month isn't bad at all, that is about 10 miles a week and what a great way to get ready for all of the walking you will do at WDW. You can stay OP while at the World, it will take planning on your part, but it can be done. When I went last year I treated myself to one thing I really wanted a day and then planned healthy meals and snacks around that choice for the day. Good luck and have a great trip.

Tiggerlover, just noticed you made lifetime in 5/07. congrats that is great!
WTG all you losers. Had a not so great evening but, I'll make up for it today.
I told my MIL I didn't want to take that cake home I have not control when it comes to sweets.
wdw4us, have fun next week. good luck w/staying on program you can do it! Think about all the walking you will be doing!

Thank you. :)

I know what you mean about the sweets, they are hard for me to pass up and when I have them around they seem to call my name. Have you tried the Hostess 100 calorie packs of the cinnamon rolls and blueberry muffins? They are only one point and are just the sweet treat I can eat in the evenings when I am rummaging through the cupboards.

Down 2.4 - yeah! Gotta be good for at least one more month and then maintaining, which is hard for me - I may even go to WW and get on their scale - I was lifetime - what will they charge me to get weighed again (I am at the goal I set with them, just not my personal goal). If someone could ask - I'd be curious - I guess it's been about three years since I've been there.

2.4 ---YIPPEE!!!!:cool1:

It is my understanding that if you have maintained your Lifetime Membership and you weigh in within 2 pounds of the WW goal you established then there is no charge, otherwise I believe it is $12, but I am not 100% sure.

and I lost three pounds! :cool1: I hope to lose another 10 by the time we go to WDW in April. Fingers crossed I can do it. I have to start hitting the treadmill again! I am home sick with the stomach flu today, so maybe I can start exercising over the next couple of days.

Sorry to hear that you have the stomach flu, but very happy to hear about your 3 pound loss this week....fantastic!!

 Kathy! Sorry to hear that you are up, but at least you know why. I have been feeling a little up too and realized that I hadn't been journaling and I had been indulging more than usual. So it is back to the basics.....need to be ready to weigh in next week!! You are right about life's ups and downs, they will always be there, we just have to chose how we deal with them. Will we always be perfect, heck no, but as long as we are aware and get back to it we will persevere. Have a great week my friend!!:)

:welcome: It is always nice to see new folks joining this thread! Congratulations on your first 5 pounds, that is a great one week loss. I have done WW online and at the meetings and I really prefer the meetings because like you, I benefit from them. Even after all of this time I still learn new things, which is great for continued success.

Congrats on your .8 loss this week, that is only 2/10 less than a pound...woo hoo!!! I agree with your friend, I set my WW goal a little higher too so that I wouldn't have such a hard time maintaining my goal weight. If I go under it is a bonus, but as long as I stay on track with them I no longer have to pay. Congratulations on almost being to your goal, your hard work has really paid off.

Morning all and congrats to all with the great weight loss results. A bit :thumbsup2 to those staying OP even after little gains. None of us is perfect and we all have little bumps(sometimes HUGE bumps ) in the road sometimes.
Tiggerlover -I have those 100 -cal Hostess muffins. I  them. They definitely do take the edge off a sweet attack! Have you had the cookies. I saw those in the WW magazine i picked up yesterday but, have not looked for them in the store yet.
Must get to work. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi All! I am new to WW though not new to WISH! My name is Erika and I just started WW a weeks ago (though my first meeting was just on Tuesday). I hope you have room for one more on this thread! :goodvibes I have 21 pounds to lose (already lost 14 before joining WW).

I am active on some of the other WISH threads, so that I thought I would just copy/paste my story from my other thread here...this tells about my WW experience.

Ok, so I get up this morning and am pumped for my first WW meeting. I have been doing it for 4 days, so I know the basics, but I need all of the other details. I dressed in really light weight clothes for the weigh-in...I am feeling ready and committed.

I get to meeting place and think...hmmm...this can't be the right meeting.

Before I go on...let me preface this by saying that the entire meeting was an all-out DISASTER! It was horrible!

For starters, I was the only person there under the age of 65! There were maybe 40 people there, and every single one of them looked like my MIL. 60s and 70s. The whole room had that cloying smell of old lady perfume. I hung in there, though, and looked around for where I was supposed to go.

No one greeted me. No one was there to help and point me in the right direction. Finally I noticed a line of people with money in hand and I thought I should get in that line. So I waited and finally got to the front and I explained in a chipper voice, "I am totally new. Today is my first day!" Without even looking up, the person said "what program do you want?" Ummm...am I supposed to know?

Thank God for the WISH boards! Earlier, Liz (September Girl) PMd me and told me which program she suggested. So I just blurted that out. They took my money and gave me a bunch of papers and didn't explain anything about anything. Not being the shy and restrained type (have you figured that out about me yet? ) I piped up yet again and asked..."Is there a place new folks are supposed to go? Do I have to weigh in?" I received a grunt and a point to a place in the back of the room where, indeed, someone was weighing folks in.

I will say that the weigh-in lady was VERY nice. I again explained that I was brand new and had no idea what to do, what I needed, etc. She gave me a bunch more paperwork and explained that after the "main" meeting, there was an information session for newcomers. Ok...I can wait out the meeting.

As for the weigh-in...the good news is that my scale at home is accurate. I was the same on the WW scale (actually, I was about a pound heavier, but I had all my clothes on, so I am counting it as even). The bummer news is that I have not lost an ounce in 2 weeks now. And I have been literally perfect! But I digress....

I look around for a place to sit...I see one younger person (about my age, I think), so I sit near her. And finally the meeting starts. I found it very surprising that EVERYONE in the room was female. Now this was not really a surprise...but I thought there would be one or two men around. The ONLY many there was the meeting leader. I found this astonishing! Um hello? This is ALL women. To have a male lead a group of all women in weight loss seems preposterous to me. And you could just tell that he wasn't "reaching" his audience. I mean, his "motivational example" was about Rocky Balboa (the boxer...from the movies...). And I am thinking...you expect these 70 year old ladies to get inspired by Rocky?!!?!?

So the meeting drags on and it is just full of those cutesy pithy sayings that make me want to vomit (which at this point I am thinking might be a good idea...at least that is something that might contribute to weight loss! ). I can't think of all of them right now...but a few were. "If you bite it, you write it..." (for keeping a journal)...and "fake it till you make it" (about becoming someone who enjoys exercise) and a whole slew of others. The whole meeting was just a bunch of cliches all strung together.

Finally, this torture is over and I can finally get my questions answered about the right way to do this program. Again, THANK GOD for the WISH boards--I had a pretty good foundation going and it is a good thing, as I certainly didn't get much new information here. There were 2 other new people today as well. So cliche man gathers us together and spews forth his spiel that is clearly memorized and VERY rushed. Explains the basics about points and tells us we can read all about it in the little booklets he gave us. Any questions?

Heck yes! I explain my situation...have been doing everything I can think of, including working out hard core, and have not seen any results. Can you think of why? Answer--you just hit a plateau...it happens. G'bye and see you next week!

Believe it or not, I am NOT disillusioned. I know that the program will work regardless of whether or not I like the person leading the meetings. I still have a zillion questions, but I will ask my friends here and use the online tools and hopefully be able to figure it out from there.

Additionally, I am going to look into meetings in other locations. We have a whole WW center about a half an hour from here (they have many meeting times each day every day of the week...it is a full time WW facility), so it may be really worth it for me to hike up there for my meetings.

So, that is my saga. Thanks for reading.

Ok, so the good news is that I have since LOST 2 pounds! :cheer2: After a 3-week plateau, that is a huge relief! The rest of the good news is that I am going to try a different meeting tomorrow. It is about half an hour away, which is a major drag (especially considering gas prices), but if it is inspiring, educational, and helpful then it is worth it, right?

Otherwise, I am LOVING the program. Prior to starting WW I was doing South Beach Diet. While I had some success with that, I hated it (carb addict here), and of course, I hit that dreaded plateau.

Happy to be a part of this thread! :goodvibes

Erica,
I am new here too but I wanted to say Welcome!! I don't blame you for going to the meeting 30 mins. away. It does stink that your local meeting is so bad, (a man:scared1: ) but hopefully you can find a much better leader. Congrats on the weight loss so far!:dance3:

Welcome Ericka. :thumbsup2 on the weight loss. So, glad you changed meeting locations. Hopefully you got a better more inspirational leader. I do WW at work, we had the Rocky thing in our meeting this week. :rotfl:

Erika, welcome!:goodvibes

Your description above, plus the fact that I have no TIME to go to more meetings (I'm a full-time first grade teachers and a pastor's wife), is the reason I joined WW online!! I get all the support I need there and right here on the DIS!
