WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Hi everyone,
We arrived home from Disney last Tuesday. We had a wonderful time!

Good to hear that you had a great trip! Getting back on track after a holiday is one of my biggest challenges, too. I found out that it helps me to just write down everything I eat and even if I have used too many points, at least I am writing it down - just as a previous poster said: keep tracking! I find it very motivating, even if I know that I did not eat the right things, at least I am still tracking the points, so at least I am doing something rght! :goodvibes

Oh and I agree that the pressure to weigh in is rather strange... :confused3

Thanks for all your comments yesterday! I appreciate it! It's so nice to have other people that know what it's really like! I've posted on the WW website before and so far, I have found that you all are SO much more friendly here! :grouphug: I'm glad I found you!!

I'm really going to try and do some different things this week. I have got to make sure that I write down everything!! I know that's one of the biggest things ~ along with drinking water, which sometimes is a challenge for me. I have to switch that up every once in awhile by adding flavor of some sort or drinking decaf iced tea or something. I think what makes me get off track more than anything is that I might eat something and just not write it down because it's "bad" and then it just goes from there. It's such a mind game at times!:upsidedow

Can someone tell me how to do the more than one quote in a post? I haven't figured that out yet.:confused3

I can help with that: to the right of the button you use to quote a post there is one with a plus sign on it. If you click on it, it will become a red button with a minus sign on it. Now you have selected it for quoting. Once you have selected all the posts you want to quote you go to "Post Reply" and then you have all the quotes in the text editor for your reply. You can unselect a post by clicking the red button with the minus sign on it. Hope this is understandable! :goodvibes

AND, you can edit out (delete) any portion of the original quote, if it doesn't reply to your response. So no need for an entire quote to appear if it's not necessary. You can also BOLD a portion of the quote by highlighting it and selecting the bold B in the tools area.

I just realized I forgot to post from my weigh in on Monday. Down another pound. I head out for vacation to Chicago today, and I think I'll do pretty good. Staying with my sister who is on Weight Watchers. I know we'll do some fine dining, but I will also be walking more than normal. Let's see how I do!

Hi everyone,
I hope you don't mind if I jump here with all you. :goodvibes I actually just discovered the DIS boards not too long ago which is surprising since I've been a long time Disney lover.

I just started WW 2.5 weeks ago to lose pregnancy weight. My son is almost 2 1/2 so I let the weight stay on long enough! It's funny because I was so unmotivated to diet for so long and now I am 100% committed to doing it. Maybe I just had to get fed up enough with this body. ;)

I did WW about 7 years ago and I had a lot of success with it, but this time around I am just not seeing the results very quickly. I lost about 1.5 my first week and then 2 pounds my 2nd week and so far this week I've actually gained back a pound. :scared1: I am very confused. I am sticking to my point limit very carefully and I am drinking a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day.

Most days I find that I am eating 3-5 points less than my allowed total. Does anyone have any advice about what I can do to increase weight loss? Should I be eating less points or maybe eating my total allowed points?

I am planning on adding exercise starting today.

Thanks in advance for any advice and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. :flower3:

Joy Welcome! I have a few things that work for me. First, stay off teh scale except for weigh in. Your weight can fluctuate from day to day and it is too easy to get too invested in the scale, you stop paying attention to u=you and worry about your daily weight.

Next, use all of your daily points and use your weekly point allowance too. Your body has no way of knowing you are trying to lose weight, it may think you are starving and so will hang on to everything you eat if you do not eat enough.

On your WI day, try to avoid a heavy meal or too much water before weighing in. I WI at 5 PM so I stop drinking water at 1 PM. I also try not to eat after 1 and will not have salty foods the day before or that day. Learned the hard way that Chinese food holds water :eek: even if you have it the day before.

Try not to get discouraged with what seems to be a slow weight loss. I never had those huge weekly losses that some people have, I don;t believe they are typical even though they do stand out. Kind of like upgrades at checkin.....it looks like everyone but me gets them when in reality they are few and far between. We just hear about the good stuff!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Have a great trip, Chicago is one of the cities in the US that I really would like to see one day!

AS nancy pointed out, don't get to obsessed with the scale! I know that losing only small amounts is a bit frustrating, but you still weigh less now than you did when you started, that's the important thing to keep in mind!

I love this comparison!! :goodvibes And I am one of those who never has those huge weekly losses, too! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for all the advice! I was actually just lecturing myself (in my head :lmao:) this morning about weighing in too often.

I will try using all my points and see how that goes. :thumbsup2

So true! Thanks for the reminder.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I am doing WW online so it is going to be really great to have the extra support. :goodvibes

One thing that I do on WI days is wear the same clothes each time ~ my WW outfit is what my husband calls it!:rotfl:

Good Luck Jackie....have a great time in Chicago. You'll do just great if you remember to eat healthy and manage your "cheats." Can't wait to hear about how you did when you get back.

Also, I just made a Mexican chicken & rice casserole that was very tasty & my whole family love it. I'll post the recipe for it soon!

Gotta run for now!

i can finally say that i lost 1 lb this week. i attribute it to being sick and not wanting to eat food because it had no smell. i can't wait for next tuesday to be over. that's when i give my presentation and i'm done. then i can go back to the gym, which i've been paying 10$ a month for and haven't been able to go to for over 2 months.

LPNMOM- Excellent progress! Counting your points is the key to knowing where you are !

Iggbees- 1 down :thumbsup2 GOing int eh right direction is always progress!

I maintained last night. 2 weeks into maintenance and so far so good. I was worried becasue last week I weighed in in the morning and then last night.... but it was okay.

1 Tbsp. veg oil
1 onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. cumin
2 c uncooked white rice (I used brown)
1 14.5 oz. can low sodium chicken broth
1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes w/jalapenos (I used tomatoes w/chilies)
1 15.5 oz. can red kidney beans, drained & rinsed
1 8.75 oz. can whole kernel corn, drained & rinsed
1 12.5 oz. can chicken breast in water, drained
Salt & pepper

Preheat oven to 350. In large Dutch oven over med. heat, warm oil. Add onion & saute until softened & translucent, 5-7 mins. Add chili powder & cumin; stir for 1 min. Add rice; cook stirring for 2 mins. Stir in 2 c. water, broth, tomatoes, beans, corn & chicken, season with salt & pepper and bring to boil. Cover tightly & bake until rice is tender & liquid has been absorbed, 25-30 mins.

Remove from oven & let stand, covered, for 5 mins. Fluff rice with a fork.

Recipe said it makes 8 servings (I guessed at about 1cup per serving, but didn't measure it out to be positive). Per serving = 216 cal, 3 g fat, 31 mg chol, 4 g fiber, 17 g pro, 34 g carb, 1,051 mg sod

I also added the water, broth, etc when I added the rice. I wasn't sure about adding the rice without having any liquid in the pot. This was the first time I've made this and it turned out fine. My family LOVED it!!

Today for lunch, I had a 2pt. tortilla and put 1/2 cup of this casserole in it to make a burrito and it was very good!:thumbsup2

ENJOY!

I realized that I didn't put points for my lunch. I counted it as 5 pts because I also put a little ff sour cream in it! Yummy! :upsidedow

I just used the multi-quote for the first time and it was really easy. Woo hoo! Sometimes it's just the small things that make me happy...:lmao:
