WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

I fell off the bandwagon... again :sad2: ... and am back to it :cool1: ! I'm doing the 'simply filling' technique of the Momentum Plan. Anyone else do this? Does it bother anyone how much carb focused it is?? All of the fat free milk products have added sugar in them to balance out the fat free taste... that kind of bugs me...

Other than that, we'll see how it goes! I'm making lentil soup out of 'simply filling' ingredients to have this week. Hopefully I can stick to it!

thank you guys for your encouraging words! I know we have fluctuations and hopefully my weigh-in next week will be much better! Good Luck to everyone this week!

Hey Everyone!
Just thought I'd like to join in on this thread since I'm almost 2 weeks in to Weight Watchers...
Had my first weigh in last week and I lost 2.4 lbs. I was pretty excited for that because I had never really tried to diet before in my life. I decided that now is the time because I saw a picture of myself and I did not like it...one bit...it was down right scary.
I've gained over 80lbs since I got married 3 and 1/2 years ago and I don't feel right anymore. I put on 40 lbs when I had our DS2 but then never lost that and gained another 40lbs...yikes.
Anyway I'm loving Weight Watchers and the freedom I have to actually eat normal stuff within my point range. I've also been working out a few times a week, but I want to up that a little bit once my schedule allows.

Seems like everyone is making great progress. I'll post again after my weigh in on Tuesday night. :cool1:

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Jen

I follow Simply filling and am happy with it. I honestly do not find that it is carb focused but that the plan details the carbs that are "acceptable" on the plan. The carb I think you may be talking about are the whole grains that should be included in your meal plan. If you have too many or if you do not listen to your satissfaction level you may end up haveing too much.

Try including plenty of veggies and fruits in your meal plan and be sure that the grains you have are whole grains. Avoid processed foods and frozen dinners, Simply Filling is partially a detox which will help you to curb teh cravings.

I use FF Smart milk or Over the Moon milk. I just checked the lable on my Simply Smart milk and there are no added sugars. The sugar that you see is the natural sugar in the milk.

Feel free to ask me if you have any questions. I am not a fast loser but I have managed to change my eating habits with this plan and my overall health is vastly improved. This is a good plan if you are looking for a lifestyle change. Good luck!

I cannot wait to see your progress on Tuesday! Please post often!

It is a never ending cycle, we have good weeks and we have bad weeks. We just need to remember what WW taught us and celebrate the good and do what nurseintraining did and pick ourselves back up after a little setback.

you are so right. and I love how you phrase things.

hi jen! welcome!

I have a few recipes I wanted to share (sorry, neither of them are simply filling recipes). My leader has been talking about these slushies as long as I have been going to meetings (August) and I finally got around to trying it. :upsidedow It is delicious and extremely simple...

Blend:
8 oz. diet sprite or 7up
1/4 c. fat free sherbet
9 raspberries or 3 large strawberries
ice.

makes one serving = 1 point.
that's it. I used pineapple sherbet and blackberries, instead of the berries suggested. It was so stinking good. My leader swears by the rainbow sherbet, but since I have 1/2 container of pineapple, I figured I better use that one first. I bet it'll be really good once it starts warming up again.

The other recipe I got at my meeting and is yet another way to use angel food cake and fat free cool whip. :rotfl2: but it sounds really good, so i thought I'd share.

Raspberry Peach (or Orange) delight
15 oz. angel food cake (can make or buy)
1 small pkg. sugar free raspberry jello
1 c. boiling water
1 c cold water
15 oz can of peaches (in their own juice), drained ~ [could use mandarin oranges instead]
1 large pkg sugar free fat free instant vanilla pudding
3 c. skim milk
8 oz. fat free cool whip

Cut angel food cake into 1" squares and place in the bottom of a 9x13 " pan. Dissolve jello in hot water; mix into the cold water before pouring over cake cubes. Put drained peaches/mandarin oranges on top.

Prepare pudding with milk. fold Cool Whip into the pudding and pour mixture over cake. Chill.

15 servings = 3 points.

I will be reporting in tomorrow my weigh in results. It might not be pretty b/c I'm switching from mornings to nights, but oh well. I told my boss at my "fun money" job I'd like work some Saturday's... which means being there at 6:45 am. It's longer hours but that means more money for my next Disney trip! :cool1:

Hope everyone had a good Sunday and that tomorrow is even better!
Rachel

Weighed in for March and I am down another 1.8#, only 4.5 more to go for my 5# cushion!!!!:cool1:
   Awesome job, Debbi!!!

but.... This week I'm down 2.2 lbs. :cool1: I am so happy about this, I can't even tell you all. My total loss total is 41.6. I just haven't felt in control the last couple weeks and more so, felt like I didn't care a lot of nights. I'd still make my lunch and do great at work, but it was home that was the problem. However...today has been a good day, I'm recommitted and I'm going to change some things up.

Sorry for the long post... I had some catching up to do! Hope everyone has a good Sunday and don't forget about Daylight Savings tonight.

Rachel

p.s. I know there was some talk about oatmeal, but I didn't mark any of the comments. I LOVE the Quaker Oats Weight Control (3 pts), esp. the brown sugar flavor. It's got a lot of protein and fiber in it and it tastes great.
Nice work getting back on track. 41 pounds!! Wow!!! :cool1: That is fantastic!! I love that oatmeal too.

Hey guys, just my weekly check-in. So this morning was horrible, I gained 1.2! :sad1: I was pretty upset, but instead of wallowing in my sorrows, I went to the gym and did 60 mins of cardio!! :cool1: YAY me! I felt so much better after I was done. Here's to next week!
 on the gain, and:cheer2: nice job getting back to the gym!! Next week will be better.

I firmly believe in the weekly meetings. I know without the meetings I would not be where I am.
You are doing amazing- did you ticker say only 10 pounds to goal? The meetings definitely make a big difference.

I haven't tried the simply filling. Is it much different from core? I'm just trying to keep tracking my points.

Those are awesome words. I've been doing that a lot lately, but that's ok. I've been struggling with the eating, but doing well with exercise, so basicly I'm maintaining. Down .2 this week. This weekend was beautiful, and it did motivate me to get out and exercise. We took a 40 min walk yest morning, and in the afternoon went out for a bike ride, met some friends and rode with them, so I figure we rode for about 90 min total. The fresh air does make you want to eat healthier too.

YUM!

Good to see you here Rachael.
I cook the lentils at 350 till whenever they are done.

missed this the first time... thanks! I'm actually going to make some tonight I think.

Went to my first Monday night meeting in a looooong time. Used to go to them with my mom (the first... and second time I tried WW). Seems really weird still to go without her. Anyway, color me surprised and excited...
I'm down 1.8 more :jumping2: not sure how it happened, since I just weighed in Saturday morning, but I'll take the pixiedust: when it happens.

I was also taking a look at the WW website today and they have Week 1 of the Rise and Shine Challenge up. I found two quotes on the weekly worksheet that I wanted to share with everyone... I know some others like me are struggling right now and they really seem to strike a chord w/ me...

1) Realize the Plan doesn't require perfection; it takes persistence. (– Success Story Stacey) [~there's a link to her story on the actual worksheet]

2) "The greatest thing you have is the 24 hours you have in front of you. The past is gone, the future is distant. Today you can succeed. Set a goal you can achieve within the next 24 hours." – Leader J.P. Sarasota, FL

Anyway, liked the quotes and liked that they were from other members. Hope it helps someone!

Hope everyone is having a good day so far!
Rachel

Rachel- thank you for the quotes, they com ein handy today. I am .8 down from last week. I have been on plan all week, no cheatin! My leader said to move more and athat I may not be eating enoiugh.

:welcome: and congratulations on your loss so far. Best of luck to you on your journey.

I wish I could say that it gets easier, but in a sense it doesn't. Even after 6 years I still have issues with food, but I am more knowledgable and smart in what I do. I do know that I never want to weigh over 200# again and I am committed to being a healthier me. So keep plugging away Kathy, remember what you have learned and just try making the best choices you can. The nice weather sure is a bonus, good for you for enjoying the day.

slightly_obsessed, good job on the loss, keep up the great work! Thanks for the quotes, I especially love this one, "Realize the Plan doesn't require perfection; it takes persistence."

Nancyg56, weigh to go!!:cheer2:

I too love the quotes. This one was my favorite as I I've been saying for months, I do it one day at a time.
The greatest thing you have is the 24 hours you have in front of you. The past is gone, the future is distant. Today you can succeed. Set a goal you can achieve within the next 24 hours." – Leader J.P. Sarasota, FL

Here is another good quote I think of often on my weight loss journey:

It's HARD to be overweight. It's HARD to lose weight. It's HARD to maintain weight loss. You just have to pick your hard!

Hi there,

I was hoping to join in. I have been back on WW since January. I am doing online only. I keep losing and gaining the same 3lbs. I do okay during the week and then go crazy on the weekends. My point counting seems to go out the window.

I need the accountability and encouragement to get moving in the right direction. I am also reading the Beck Diet Solution and she states how important the support is for success.

I have always been really bad about keeping up with any group I join, so I am trying really hard to break that habit too.

I'll take all the help I can get:banana:

I had my first real shopping trip today for the first time since I started this new lifestyle. Minus an item here and ther, up until now I've been wearing clothes already in my closet or borrowing from my sister. and I am excited to say that I have gone from a size 20 to a size 10 jeans!   the moment was kind of lost of my husband since he doesn't understand woman's sizes (although, who does, really?), so I had to share it with you all. thanks for letting me share my excitement.

happy Thursday everyone!

I started WW almost a year ago finally lost 40 # and have managed to gain back 15 I am now back on the wagon, so to say. And this time am exercising along with watching and recording food. I am not ready to give up on this I need to be healthy and happy, I still need to lose 10# 8 more times to be at goal so if it takes me 2 years I am here for the long haul.
