WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

antmaril, estherhead, Mary Anne - great job guys! :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Here's a Pumpkin Cake Recipe... it's so easy, it's not even funny. I haven't tried it yet, but I can't imagine it would taste bad if you like pumpkin pie.

Ingredients:
Angel Food Cake Mix
Libby East Pumpkin Pie MIX
FF or light cool whip

Combine cake and pumpkin mixes with a mixer.
Spray 9x13" cake pan w/ non stick spray.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
Top with cool whip.

If you cut cake into 12 servings, it is 4 points per piece. If you make 15 servings, it's 3 points! (Assuming you use 2 Tbsp. of cool whip per slice/1/2 the container for the whole cake. If you use the entire container, add a point per serving). The recipe also suggests using cream cheese frosting but I have no idea what that would be point wise... and since I love cool whip, I was happy with that option.

Hope someone will enjoy it. Have a good Friday everyone! :goodvibes

Rachel

I did really good this week and only lost a POUND!:confused3 I drank lots of water and walked 2 miles everyday! I'm so mad!

On the plus side:goodvibes my pants do fit better and I'm not bloated!:lmao: So I'm hoping I lost more inches then....

Good luck to everyone else!;)

174.9
173.9

A pound is a great loss. I know how frustrating not seeing what we want on the scale is. You got a better reward with the pants. Losing inches is just a good. Keep up the good work.
I'm happy to say that I had an OP day yesterday and it looks like I'll have another one today. which is good b/c I was not kind to myself this weekend. :scared: I actually did better than expected at the camping trip... I just didn't account for all the food at the party celebrating my niece and nephew's baptism on Sunday. whoops. And Monday I actually bypassed the 0 on the 0-5 hunger/comfort scale. I was pretty mad I let myself get that hungry... stupid mistake and it look awhile before I felt ok again. But on the plus side when I got a chance to eat, I ate very healthy food and didn't grab the first thing I saw so I felt better. I also didn't gorge myself. So there's a silver lining, right!?!

Rachel
Congrats for getting back on program. We all have little moments when we stray and that's part of real life. Getting back on is the hard part and you did it. :thumbsup2

Weighed in this morning - down a pound this week - 5.5 pounds in four weeks. Received my first gold star.

I keep telling myself - Slow & Steady Wins the Race!

:woohoo: Yea for the first gold star. Wasn't that a great feeling? I hope you get your next star real soon.

Down .8 lbs this week. I'm pretty happy with it, all things considered. Mtg. was on emotional eating, which had some nice reminders.
That's almost a pound. Congrats!

I was down 1.8 lbs today. I have now lost 20% of my body weight.

Great loss Mary Anne. 20% is awesome. Did you get a new keychain?

Rachel thanks for the recipe.

Happy Friday everyone.

Those pumpkin recipes sound great. I have a few min before I go weighin, so thought I'd share my favorite apple reicpe.

Apple Brownies

5 tbsp margarine or butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1+1/4 cup chopped apples
1+1/4 cup flour
1/3 tsp baking powder
1/3 tsp baking soda
1/3 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp applepie spice
1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Cream together the margarine, sugar, and eggs. Add apples (and nuts). Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Use 9 inch square pan sprayed with pam and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Cut into 16 approx 2 inch squares for 3 points each, or 9 (3 inch) squares for 5 points each. (without nuts) I think the nuts would add a point to each of the small brownies. They are the consistency of brownies, and are really good.

I'll be back after weighin.

Back from weighin and I am only up .8, which makes me very happy considering all the splurges I ate earlier in the week. I'm on track as of the past 3 days, and I'm planning to stay there.

slightly_obsessed-That recipe looks so good and so easy. Thanks.

Mary Anne- Congratulations!! 20% and almost 50 pounds is just phenomenal. You are such an inspiration to me. You must be so proud of yourself.

Mary Anne, antmaril, disneyismyname- congratulations on your losses!! Slow and steady is the way to do it. Keep up the great work.

slightly_obsessed- sounds like you did really well this weekend. Especially to not eat junk when you were so hungry. Nice job.

Grumpy's Wife- Whoo hoo!! Congratulations!! 30 pounds is awesome!!!

Have a wonderful, on program weekend everyone!!

Funny that you posted this. I am making a similar cake for this evening. My DGD's Halloween party and I want a WW cake for the adults.

1 Angel Cake mix
1 15 oz can of pumpkin
3/4 cup water
1 T pumpkin Pie Spice
1 tsp vanilla

Mix and bake according to package directions
12 servings 1 point for each

Back from weighin and I am only up .8, which makes me very happy considering all the splurges I ate earlier in the week. I'm on track as of the past 3 days, and I'm planning to stay there.

Excellent recovery :thumbsup2

Nancyg56 ~ congrats on your loss after a hard week! Better than a gain! :upsidedow I'd love some recipes...I really don't care for cooking but find it a necessary evil:laughing: I'm not hosting Thanksgiving this year, but would like to bring something WW friendly to MIL's to share. Congrats to your DD too

I'll get some and post them as soon as I recover from my DGD's party. 12 7 YO girls :scared1::scared1: and my DD is not a kid person. She is already threatening to stop off at the package store before coming home from work....I hope that she saved her points :lmao:

A pound is a good loss. Try not to obsess too much on the scale, it is deceptive. You have been walking which mean toning and muscle weighs more than fat. Your clothes will tell the true story, as your pants already have :thumbsup2

I am a slow loser but before I was seeing any real movement on the scale my clothes were looser. I also was less bloated looking. That was the plan working the way it is supposed to.

Also, pay attention to how much water you drink before WI. If you have had any salty foods you turn into a giant sponge and that means less of a loss, water weighs a lot

I was down 1.8 lbs today. I have now lost 20% of my body weight.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks!!:thumbsup2
9 more days till Disney land/sea! I think I might be getting a cold!

I weighed myself the morning after my weigh in and I lost .9lb !!! So I'm really 173.0 now!!:woohoo:

Congrats to our losers and :grouphug: to those of us struggling.

Great recipes all, thanks for sharing!! Does anyone have any great soup recipes they would be willing to share? I love soup and this is the perfect time of year to enjoy so I am always on the look for some new recipes.

Hello! I started online WW on Jan.2 of this year. I've lost 43#. I want to keep going. It's become harder for me, and I would love to find some support here. We are having an at home vow renewal next year and will follow that with a "Disneymoon" with our grown children. I want to be healthier, feel better and look good in my dress. Looking foward to knowing you'all better. trudy <><

Happy Weekend Everyone!
I love reading through all the posts and seeing all the support and encouragement. I want to add my congratulations to everyone for their losses and my encouragement to everyone who made not have had the results they wanted. I think anyone who is trying to follow their plan and make good choices deserves to be commended. I wanted to share a fun way that I have found to work out. I am a sixth grade teacher and our school has started a fitness club for the students. The goal is to show the students fun and different ways to get moving. I decided to be one of the sponsors even though I am not yet a fan of working out. It has been great. This week we were running/power walking with the students. I was with the walkers. It was so much fun encouraging the kids and seeing the pride on their faces when the walk was over. I didn't even realize that I was working out. Next week, we are playing soccer and even though I am about as uncoordinated as it gets, I can't wait.

:welcome: trudy88!! Congrats to you on your weight loss to date, that is fantastic! Sometimes after follow program for a while our bodies get used to what we are doing, perhaps if you tried mixing things up a bit (different foods, different exercise) you will see things moving once again. Glad to have you onboard!

susieb16, that is great! I wish I had that kind of opportunity, having fun and exercising with this kids all at once. Good for you!

mikamah - those apple brownies sound delicious!

Nancyg56 - that is too funny.... we must both have great minds..

disneyismyname - congrats on the loss! And I don't think I'd be able to concentrate on anything if disney land/sea was only 9 days away... Lucky you!

trudy88 - welcome and congrats on your loss so far! i think tigger lover is right, maybe you can jump start that weight loss again, but changing some things up. hope we can help you out! I love the ideas I get from here.

susieb16 - that sounds like so much fun... so much more fun that the treadmill, and it seems like you get a lot of gratification/encouragement out of the kids.

today was WI day.... and I made my 10% today:cool1: :yay: :cool1: I've been doing a happy dance all day!

First, congrats on your 10%!

Now about that cake...PSA: make sure to bake it long enough. If you do not the entire thing will come crashing out of the pan, turn into a bunch of distracted size munching pieces, tempting you for the rest of the morning. :dance3:

I turned it into a WW trifle made with SF FF white chocolate pudding and cool whip free and brought it to the Halloween party at my sister's home. It was delicious!

Hi everyone! I'm Debbie, and I'm new around the WISH board, I usually hang in the creative community. I started WW Online last week and came here looking for a WW thread and found you guys. My weigh in is Mondays, so tomorrow is the big day :scared: I have quite a lot of weight to lose, but right now I'm committed to just 10%.

Just wanted to "meet" everyone :) I can't wait to try the pumpkin/angelfood recipes!

welcome ddavis. I do both the meetings the WW online. You know starting it with a small goal is the way to go. You can't get to the finish line without the first step.

Hi Debbie, Welcome! Good job deciding to set an attainable goal. I was not as ambitious as you and really began with 5 pound goals, for me it was an easier step. 10% is super, not only is is a benchmark but the health benefits are too numerous to mention.

Nancyg56 - Thanks! :dance3: that trifle sounds fabulous!

tiggerlover - thank you too! :dance3:

ddavis860 - welcome! I am sure you will do great tomorrow! :goodvibes

hope everyone has a happy Monday!

Okay ladies, tomorrow I WI and it is not going to be pretty. I did really well right up until Friday and went careening downhill from there. Monday I reset my points and get back on track but I am not too happy with my lack of control. :sad2:

 It will be ok; that is the best thing about WW. It really isn't a diet but a lifestyle change and we are all going to fall back into our old ways from time to time. Life happens and then we bounce back with a vengence! I hope Monday is easier on you than the weekend:grouphug:

I'm sure I have missed a bunch of you and I didn't mean to....so here's to everyone----hope everyone has a great week. I look forward to trying out some these yummy desserts that have been posted this week!:dance3:
