WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

 Hi, Kathy! Glad to hear the scale is heading down again for you, just hang in there, I know you know that slow and steady wins the race! Doing okay here, having a hard time with my eating due to all of the medical/medicine changes in my life, hoping to finally get things regulated and back on track by mid November, so I am hanging in. I weigh in tomorrow and I am nervous about getting on that scale, I think I am up about three pounds this month, (still under goal, but I do not like to go up). My hormones are running rampant and all I want to do is eat, so it has been a challenge.

 Woo hoo, antmaril, congrats on your 3# loss!

slightly_obsessed, you have me curious, exactly what are dirty eggs? I have never heard of them before.

sorry I confused everyone! Dirty eggs are when you cook your eggs in all the bacon or sausage grease. It is sooooo not healthy and the eggs are no longer yellow... they are brown (hence dirty). but man are they good...

mikamah - congrats on your loss!

antmaril - awesome job! 3 lbs in two weeks is fantastic!

disneyismyname - two days w/o pop is amazing! dang!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! I'll be freezing my tush off b/c it's starting to get down to the 40s here. Maybe I'll shiver those lbs off.

Thanks everyone! 3rd day w/o pop! And I'm getting a little cranky! Which always happens to me the first week of losing weight.:confused3

Thanks for the explanation!

disneyismyname, hang in there, you are doing a great job!

I weighed in today, much to my dismay, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. With all of medical issues and medicine changes I have really been struggling and I thought for sure that I gained 3-4 pounds, it only turned out to be 1.5 so that isn't as bad. A few more weeks and hopefully my meds will be straight and I can finally get back on track.

I was hoping I could join in. I have done W.W. twice in the past and done well and then gained it all back! I have returned again and am in week 6. So far I have lost 10.6lbs. It's been slow but I'm losing and that's what counts. My goal is to make it to lifetime status and finally see this as a lifestyle change and not a "diet." This seems like such a supportive thread and I think that might be just the extra push I need to not only be successful but stay successful.

Welcome:jumping1:

Hope everyone has a great on target, losing, fun filled weekend!!:cool1:

I stopped drinking diet soda when I started back on WW in May. I never looked back. I really think that stopping it has contributed to my weight loss. I don't have the cravings for more food that I used too.

I'm down .4 lbs as of Thursday, and I'll take it very much this week. I struggled all week to stay within my points (which I did) but must have been the change in seasons, I was hungry (really hungry not for junk) Mon - Wed.

Hope everyone is having a good on program weekend.

Withdrawal will do that to you, hang in there and it will get better.

You cannot control what the meds will do so let that go. You are doing well, your attitude is wonderful and your commitment is strong. Keep it up, the rest will follow :thumbsup2

Welcome! I am a slow loser too. I get a little jealous of the big fast losers but I think that I am working on a lifestyle change, not a diet. You are doing the same thing and that is the difference I think. You can do this and then keep the weight off.

I'm having one of those weeks too. I never gave the seasons changing a thought but it makes sense. I am already out of my WP's and do not reset until Monday.

Have a great weekend everyone!

:welcome: to WISH susieb!! Alot of us are WW repeaters so you are in good company. Your attitude is right on for success because this truly isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle change and once you get it down you can succeed. This is a great thread, it has been a part of my life for so many years and it is where I come when I need support. (Well heck, it is where I come just to check in and catch up too). Congrats on your loss to date, slow and steady helps lead you to success in the long run as the slower it comes off the easier it usually is to keep it off.

:thumbsup2 disneyismyname, feeling great is what it is all about, so glad that this thread has helped you.

Nancyg56 and Pei, thanks for the kind words and the encouragement, it means a lot. Nancy, it is funny that you mention the season change, I think you are right that it has a lot to do with our weight loss efforts.

Hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL weekend!

I would never have thought about the season's changing effecting it but I think it does. We were talking about it in our meeting this week and it's happened to more then one of us. Leader suggested we eat more natural foods (fruits and vegies) with FALL colors in it.

I bought red peppers, yellow squash, and red and yellow apples.

Maryanne- I have been eating apples lately. I also added red peppers to my chili yesterday. I will look for more fall colored food tomorrow before i eat my shoe!

I am working on a clone for no pudge brownies. I made some yesterday for a tail gate that we went to and they were pretty good but resembled a twinkieish cake. I used a little extra yogurt and a little less cocoa, used what i had in the house. The yogurt was cherry vanilla.

No Pudge Brownie Clone Recipe #116219

This recipe comes the closest to the ones that are sold in the stores. Do not substitute Splenda or other sweetner, the sugar in the recipe carmelizes as the brownies bake, making them more sticky (when I used Splenda, they felt like rubber. On the box vital wheat gluten also appears, I learned that it helps the brownies rise as the batter is rich in sugar. I figure about 1/2-1 teaspoon is enough * I didn't have yogurt at hand but I had some milk and Jello Sugar Free Fat Free Instant Chocolate Pudding. I made the pudding according to recipe on the box and substituted it cup for cup (I omitted the baking soda because the soda is there to offset the acidity in yogurt, no yogurt= no need for soda). The brownies came out even better!

It isn't just fall colors, etc. It's also cultural. All the rest of the year there are people supporting you. In January people are keeping New Year's Resolutions, in the spring people are trying to fit into bathing suits, in the summer people say, "It's just too hot to eat anything but salads." So there is always support there. From now on, there is no support. There are just people pushing chocolate which leads into people pushing pumpkin & apple pie which leads into people pushing sugar cookies and eggnog, etc. No cultural support. Football parties. Parties, parties, parties. Ya know? Plus just the natural desire to snuggle in.

Celstial Seasoning Tea is going on sale this week and I'm going to stock up. We have a gas fireplace and I love to sit in front of it and eat so I'm hoping the tea will help me to feel all snuggly without the calories.

I weighed myself (at home) this a.m. and had lost a pound but I did BAD today (bonfire party) so I need to be really good tomorrow to make up for today. I can do it! Bring on the tea!

esterhead, I think you are right too, the fall just seems to be a time of food, events and people wanting you to eat. I think also, the cooler weather makes us want more of those comfort foods. I have to keep reminding myself that fruit is good and sweet and can satisfy those sweet urges.

Thanks for the recipe Nancy, sounds yummy and a great way to satisfy that chocolate urge.

Alright everyone...I had a diet mt. dew this saturday!:scared1: And I will tell you why!..I went to the mall with my mom and step-dad..it was about 1pm i think and all i had to eat was a 4pt breakfast WW sandwich and a 90 cal granola bar which I ate at 11am. So we decide to go to the mall then go to applebees for dinner(which was yummy!). We're in the mall walking around everywhere..and it was getting hot (i had my fall jacket on in the mall:confused3 ).. it's like 4 pm and I feel sick to my stomach ..and a little light headed...I REALLY thought i was going to pass out in the mall!!
I told my mom,"the disers will understand I NEED A POP!" So I bought a large DIET mt.dew and sucked that thing down in 5 minutes. And I felt better!

What was weird is that didnt really feel hungry at the mall..it must of been the heat and walking around?? I walk 2miles that morning after breakfast ..so I don't know what happened! But, I'm fine!:goodvibes Just need to talk my coat off before I go sales shopping at the mall!!

Today we went to someone's house for dinner (no way I could take anything as I didn't really know them) and low & behold it was a full turkey dinner! Let me tell ya, I was not prepared. Thank goodness I don't weigh in till Friday this week. ;) I did OK til the host put a piece of pumpkin cake down in front of me. I tried to feed most of it to my 19 month old (trust me, she didn't complain) but even still I probably ate 5 points worth of the thing. YUM!

Oh yes, you have to take your coat off in malls. I've had something similar happen to me. I figure a Diet caffiene soda can't be too much worse than taking pain killers with caffeine, right? I had a big Diet Coke at Sam's Club today as I just HAD to have one. So I'm right there with ya.

Good morning everyone. I went to an LSU tailgating party on Saturday night and I'm proud to report I did really well. I sometimes cave into to the pressure of all that wonderful food. I ate a bowl of cerael before we left to take the edge off and only went by the food once. Staying out of the kitchen helped me a lot. I made one pass around the room to survey the food and filled up the plate with lots of fruit. I only took one finger sandwich, one chicken strip, grapes and strawberries. I even drank only water. That was a big challenge for me being around so many family and friends eating all night long. I have to say I was very proud of myself as we were leaving knowing that I actually went to a party and didn't blow it. Too many times I've left a party not feeling too good about myself and thinking I should have done better. I think some of the stuff they tell us at the meetings might actually be sinking in.

I hope everyone had a wonderful on program weekend. If not, today is new day and we can do this together. :thumbsup2

Those turkey dinners are so hard to resist.....I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving and keep thinking how I will survive the day, it is a challenge that is for sure.

:woohoo: Grumpy's Wife, a BIG woo hoo to you!!! Kudos for resisting the tailgaiting temptations, you should be so proud of yourself.:woohoo:

I have to share a little woo hoo moment for myself today. After falling off the wagon so much lately I was determined that today was going to be an OP day. Unfortuneately there was cheesecake at the office today and my piece was wrapped and put on a plate in the fridge for me. All day long that cheesecake was calling my name, every time I walked through the kitchen I heard it loud and clear. I tried offering it to a co-worker to no avail, so finally I took the big, yummy piece of cheesecake and dumped it in the trash! Sure did silence that piece of cake. I have been totally OP today, one day down......

Maybe we can post our menus along with the recipes in order to come up with good food that is point friendly.

My DDIL is already beginning to worry about Thanksgiving because it so revolves around food. I told her that while I would make some traditional sides we would not be sabotaging ourselves with some of the foods I generally make.

Grumpy'swife :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: My tailgate thing was less successful, I was out of points on Friday when we left and that was with a core main and water to drink :sad2:

WI was okay today, I had a tough week so I was prepared for a gain but I lost .2, which was okay with me. DD lost 2 pounds and is 5 pounds away from her 2nd ten percent. I am so proud of her!

Tiggerlover - that is wonderful. It's a great feeling tossing that food int he garbage. I've done it a few times and you know, it really does feel better to do it than the taste left in your mouth after you eat something like that. Luckily people don't offer me much food at work. They know I no longer say yes so I guess they have given up :rotfl:

Actually I think Thanksgiving is one of the easier holidays. Turkey - on program, turnip prepared without a lot of stuff in it -- on program, baked sweet potato, half of a nice size one - on program, salad on program, basic veggies - on program.

Desert I admit is a challage but I'll have low calorie puddings, jellos and maybe some WW cakes and I'll survive.

Have to leave enough points for a turkey sandwich in the evening!
