Week 3 on Core

Week 1 = 3.8 down
Week 2 = 0 down
Week 3 = 0 down

Looks like after my huge 1st week loss I am sitting still. This week I can certainly explain it as it was DH's birthday and we celebrate Sunday (I had ice cream cake and wine) and Thursday (his actual birthday) and I had cheesecake and tonight we are celebrating one last time with friends at a nice restaurant. Then on top of that I had bunko last night and although I didn't overindulge, I did eat some non Core food. So given all of the extra eating I guess I should be lucky I didn't have a gain. I am still under goal when I weighed in yesterday, so I am happy about that, tomorrow is a new day and I will get back on the Core bandwagon then. I guess going to the gym saved me on the scale this week.

Marshmelo, congrats on your loss. I am so glad to hear about your eating out realization, that is one of the steps of making these changes last a lifetime!!

:welcome: ScuttleMeTimbers and congratulations on your loss to date, that is fantastic!! It is great to have you join us!

Hi!
I just found this thread today ..... go figure! :confused3
I've been a Diser for a while now & joined WW in Nov '07. I weigh in on Saturday AMs and (as of yesterday) have lost a total of 28lbs! :cool1: I don't know how far I have to go b/c I haven't set my lifetime goal yet. I figure I'll focus on that when I hit 50 ....... for now, I'm trying to get to 30! It helps me to focus on smaller (reachable) goals that a GIANT overall number. ;)

I haven't read the entire thread, but will come back to gradually do so! I was just excited to find this and wanted to "join" right away!

Oh yeah --- DH & I celebrated our 5 yr anniversary at WDW (Citricos) last Saturday, and I still lost .2 lbs this week! :rotfl:

:welcome: So glad to have you here! Congratulations on your loss to date, great work! I agree, smaller goals are so much easier to obtain and make the whole process better. Hope you will be a frequent contributor to this thread, the more the merrier.

Happy Anniversary, too!!!!

I finally have lost more than I have left to lose!!!:goodvibes
When I weighed in this morning, I had lost a pound, but that was just enough to put me a *tiny* bit over the halfway mark! It's been a long haul, but all those little losses are finally adding up. People who haven't seen me in a while are pleasantly surprised, and the folks who see me all the time are noticing as well. I bought some new clothes and am down to a 20 (from a tight 26 about 2 1/2 years ago). I can't wait to actually be into the teens! :dance3:

Sorry if I'm tooting my own horn. . . .I'm just excited!! :hyper:

Toot that horn!!:cheer2: That is something to very proud of. I'm down to a size 20 after being a tight 28 back in Feb 07. Keep up the great work!

I haven't been here, but just went and read every post since I posted a gain about a week and a half ago, and it looks like every single one of you have been posting losses, with a few maintains in there!! That is amazing!! Congratulations to you all. You are doing great and inspiring so many others!!
I know I need to come by here more often, and I will be more successful. This is a great group of people.

After a bad week, I did better, and on friday had lost 2.8 of the 4.2 I had gained. I'm still exercising, and yesterday, I walked the 1.5 miles to the nursing home and back to visit my mom, and then 1 mile to pick up my son at school so I walked a total of 5 miles. My mom is doing better, but it's a very slow process, two steps forward, one step back, so we're hopeful she'll do ok with rehab and get back home in a few weeks. Thanks for all the support and good wishes. Eating wise, I could be better, but am making some smart choices. I'll be happy for the next few weeks to maintain, and not see any gains again.

DizneeMommy- Congratulations to you!! :cool1: More than half way to your goal is awesome!! You should toot your horn and be proud of yourself!!!

tiggerlover- Sounds like core is working well for you. 3.8 over 3 weeks is pretty awesome. It sounds like you handled your challenges well to not see a gain. Nice job being under goal for weighin this month!! That's got to feel great!!

:welcome: toledo13, and good luck to you and your husband. This is a great thread, with lots of wonderful support.

:welcome: mouseaddicts, ScuttleMeTimbers, and congratulations to your losses to date!! You are both doing so great!!

Congratulations to cepmom, bucci818, Grumpy's Wife, mfabre, and marshmelo on your losses this past week!! :cheer2: You are so inspiring.

I hope everyone has a great day and a losing week!!:cool1:

Thanks for the well wishes!!! I'm having trouble thinking of good snacks to have. What do you folks like to eat?? I need 23 points a day... but typically have 19-20. DH needs 33 points  ... grrrr...

Any menu/snack help would be greatly appreciated!!! :yay:

Just a couple of ideas....
Fat Free Pringles.....15 for 1pt.
Laughing cow cheese 1pt. a wedge
(I split the cheese between 3 Rye Krisp crackers...for a total of 2pts.)
Boca burger on light bun.....2 pts.
( I like the flame grilled boca..and load it up! ... lettuce, tomato, dill pickles, mustard...etc.)
Remember...if you like dill pickles...they are free.
I also like...the Fiber One granola snack bars.....2 pts.

I am an ice cream lover and what saves me is Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches. They are very similiar to the Weight Watchers ones but better and only two points.

ETA~How could I forget the WW lemon cakes. Oh so good and 1 point.

some of my favorite foods are...
mini babybel cheese 1 pt (and counts as 1 calcium)
laughing cow cheese 1 pt....put on a Kim's light bagel which is also only 1 pt instead of cream cheese
Fiber One bars 2 pts
WW ice cream bars...my favorite is the vanilla bar with chocolate cookie crumbs 2 pts
I also just tried the WW Latte bar yesterday...1 pt and tastes just like coffee ice cream :goodvibes
baby carrots and pepper strips 0 pts
WW yogurt 1 pt and really good...I like vanilla and I mix in sliced strawberries
94% fat free microwave popcorn mini bags 1 pt
just discovered Hershey's 100 cal packs...chocolate covered pretzels 2 pts:cloud9:

just make sure you eat at least all your daily points. I know conventional wisdom is eat less to lose more, but it really works better if you make sure you are getting in all your points. Good luck!

Congratulations on making it to the half way point!!  These are the milestones we love to celebrate. Making it work over the "long haul" usually ensures that you are making lifestyle changes that will last. Pat yourself on the back, you are doing a wonderful job!

bucci818, you should be patting yourself on your back too!!! Great work!:cheer2:

Mik, glad to hear that your mom is making progress (and that you are getting back on track). It is a day to day thing and as long as you make the best decision you can for that day you are progressing. I have missed your postings and hope once things settle down a little more for you that you can stop by more often. :grouphug:

toledo13, some of my favorite snacks are:
hummus on celery
Wasa crackers with Laughing Cow cheese or hummus
Fiber One "granola" - 1 PT (I posted the ingredients a few pages back)
Vita Brownie - 1 PT
Vita brownie "sundae" (1 Vita brownie with cool whip & a drizzle of Hershey's syrup)
Love, love, love the Latte bars - 1 PT

I am sure there are others, but nothing is coming to mind right now.

I weighed in last night and was thrilled with a 2.5 pound loss. I lost 8.5 pounds during April, since I started back on WW, with regular weigh-ins.

Congrats to all the PPs for all their successes. Hang in there--it is quite the battle eating right and exercising.

WEIGH TO GO!!!!:cool1:

I had a loss of .6 this week. I know I should be happy and I truly am but my first mini goal that I set for myself was 20 pounds. I only had to lose 1 pound this week at attain my first goal. When they told me it was .6 today I was sad. So next week for sure I'll reach my first milestone and 20 pounds. I'm at 19.6 pounds lost so far. Downward we go next week. :thumbsup2

Congrats to you on both accounts. 2.2 lbs. is great and WOW on the 200 miles. Do you get to reward yourself with a trip when you reach your goal?
I wish!! We are going in August but I'll never get all the miles done by then! It will probably be our last trip for a while since DD is going to college in the fall but maybe I can somehow manage once I "walk to hte world" ;)

Great Job on the loss!!:cool1: 200 miles is awesome too. Keep up all the great work! :goodvibes

thanks!!

I was down 2 pounds this morning! :cool1:

This is my biggest loss in a while! I am .2 away from my 10%. Hopefully I can keep up what I am doing and make that and then some next week.

Congrats to all of the losers this week! Keep up the good work!

great job!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you to get your 10% next time

This is just what I need.

Day one of ww (again). I did well on points today but have felt woozy all day. I have lost weight once before out of a million half hearted tries on WW and then life got the best of me and I gained a good bit back.

So a fresh start and I am determined to do it - flex plan for me!

I am so happy to find this board - I think it will really help me and hopefully I can help too!

So what do you flex plan people eat for breakfast? It's my toughest meal!
Welcome!! I think you will find tons of support here. I like to eat Fiber One cereal for breakfast with strawberries (3 pts for 1 C cereal, 1 pt for 1/2 C skim milk and .5 pt for 3/4 C strawberries)or oatmeal with a cut up apple or pear and cinnamon (2 pts for 1/2 C oatmeal, 1 pt for fruit).

Welcome new (or 'new again') members! Congratulations to all who lost or maintained! You should still be very proud of yourselves for maintaining or losing under a lb. It all counts!!! Also congrats to those of you who had 'non-scale victories'!

I am down .6 this week. Not as big a number as I like, but I'm still happy  I only exercised a couple times this week and I didn't do as well as I had hoped at the dinner theater buffet. I did get low-cal dressing on my salad and skipped taking a roll, but I ate too much of the cheese spread and crackers they leave on your table and I also ordered turtle cheesecake for dessert but it was yummy and I don't regret it! I also had a family b-day party over the weekend, but luckily since I started WW, I have inspired most of the rest of the family to try to lose weight as well, so we had strawberry shortcakes sweetened with Splenda and with FF Cool Whip and light ice cream....instead of our normal cake and fattening ice cream. Then I went out to breakfast on Monday and just got French Toast with SF syrup and bacon again.

I think I'm finally starting to realize that I can go out to eat, but I just have to be careful about what I choose (though I already knew that logically before). I used to just have the mindset that if I was going out, I was going to 'pig out' and have all or nothing. I never had the willpower to be careful about what I chose when eating out, so I feel really good when I do make better choices now and then I still feel like I'm going out all the time and still losing weight :)

Well, I just had Taco Bell for lunch, so I need to find out how many points I had. Have a good week everyone! :goodvibes

great job! Isn't it wonderful when you finally get to the point where you know you can handle eating out?? I didn't go out to eat for a very long time because I was too afraid. Now I realize I can eat out and stay OP!

OMGosh I'm so excited, I didn't even know this existed on this board. I have been on the flex plan since February and am doing well I hit my 35 lb mark this week with 1.6 lbs lost.

I'm trying for 50 lbs before our trip in July for my DS's 5th birthday!

Welcome!! That's a great loss so far!! Keep it up!

conrats on your anniversary and welcome! You've done a great job so far! Small goals are easier for me also, otherwise it seems to overwhelming.

 don't you ahte it when you don't see what you are hoping for on the scale? don't let it discourage you.....use it as motivation to get past 20 lbs next week!

I am up 1 pound this week....ate a ton over the weekend so it was not unexpected. I have DD's first communion party this Saturday....I know I'll eat more than I should so I'll need to be on my toes until then and again after. Hopefully it will all balance out in time for weigh next week. Have a good week everyone!

It is hard when the scale doesn't give us the numbers we want, especially when we are so close to one of our goals.

Thanks, cepmom, I know that in my head, but as with most people I like seeing the scale go down. And since I am not really "trying" to lose it isn't bad, I guess I was just excited after that very first week thinking I could get a little more cushion under goal!
