Wrong Tables in Wonderland Card

Earlier in July, I finally got around to picking up a Tables in Wonderland card. My wife and I used it at Jock Lindsey's and went about on our merry way. This weekend, I was visiting family and my mom asked to see my card, and when she looked at the back noticed that the name was different. I believe the server accidentally gave me the wrong card back.

My question is, how big of a deal is this? I was told that a lost or damaged card would cost me $50 to replace, but I didn't lose it; the server gave me the wrong one.

Considering they have on file that you paid for a cards and that you do in fact have a card, I would bet that they would replace yours with a valid one once you let them know what happened. Sounds like an honest mistake that was. It your fault.

I would just call they should be able to help you out. I called last week because my tyvek card wasn't scanning at all and they sent me a plastic card replacement at no charge.

Awesome, thanks for the replies! I was nervous I'd have to pay an additional $50 to get it fixed. We are local, so I'll hop over to DS this weekend and see about getting it taken care of.

Same thing happened to us once. At the end of our fall trip (we are not locals), we dined and had "our" card returned. Put it away went merrily on our way and traveled home. Returned to Disney in the spring--had dinner at Via Napoli where our card was declined since neither of our APs matched it. We were so confused--partially due to a bit of a language barrier, but primarily because we had no idea how we ended up with Betty Smith's Tables card and, more to the point where ours might be. At first the server felt he may have mishandled the card, but checked and he had no other Tables cards at the time. The manager came by the table, had a lengthy conversation in Italian with the server and then proceeded to explain that cards being returned to the wrong owner happens frequently at Disney, but she did not feel it happened at Via. She discounted our meal and advised us to head to GS--which we absolutely intended to do after the bill was settled.

Quick trip to IG GS and we had our card replaced in minutes--no charge. Since that day we always check the name on the card being returned to us and, in fact, it did happen again--but we fortunately caught the error immediately and the correct card was returned.

Ohhhh - this is NOT restricted to a TIW card :(.

What my dear wife and I do: When our cards are returned? We get formal - CHECK THE CARD NAMES.
TWICE - in 12 years? I have gotten someone ELSE'S Credit Card. Someone else likely got MINE.

PLEASE - staff has to deal with a LOT of people, all at once.... and mistakes get made. When your cards, of any nature, are returned? Take a moment to verify that all cards are YOURS?

This is why I wish they would attach your AP/DVC/TiW discounts to your magic band. Then the servers would have less cards to get mixed up. Of course, the way things seem to be lately, that may be too tall of an order for Disney IT.

I like to use my MB to pay for meals etc, and then settle up at my resort front desk with my credit card.

Thanks for posting this. Great reminder to check the cards that are returned! Something I can’t say I ever do.

I had a new Costco card made nearly a year ago and hasn’t been back until June. When I discovered that I was given someone else’s card with my picture on it.

The guy said they line them up in front of the picture taker and sometimes that person will grab the wrong card to print the picture on.

Oops.
