Something tells me this is family/marriage decision. Either way, I'm totally shocked! No defensive coordinator, no head coach, and no Tebow. Hmmm... should be interesting during the off season.

Shocking... I just had some friends call me and tell me about this, this is going to be the talk of the town when I go back to work after the holidays. (I work at Univ of FL). One article I read says that is it for medical reasons...something about a brain cyst.

ESPN is now reporting it is a heart muscle defect. Whatever it is, I wish him well.

If ESPN is correct, this problem may have surfaced as a result of his hospitalization for what was said to be dehydration after the SEC championship game. It has also been reported that he has a brain cyst that can cause headaches. Neither condition is reported to be life threatening, however.

Because Meyer didn't quit because of any Heisman 'thing.'

They are saying there will be a press conference tomorrow. Sounds like he got medical advice to take it easy. Football coaching at that level is brutal business.

It was reported that his doctors told him nothing was wrong with his health, just some stress and fatigue. Something smells a bit here. I hate to see a guy quit on his team just because they are losing so many great players and coaches. I think Meyer will be back in one year, probably with an NFL team.

Urban has had a change of heart and will now be taking an indefinite leave of absence, while current Offensive Coordinator Steve Addazio takes over the head coaching duties. I think the initial reports are what is going to end up happening - he intended to resign, but still be there in some capacity. Changing his resignation to a LOA will go far in saving the recruit class.

I wonder if he is more sick than he is letting on? I know it really isn't our business, but he's got a lot of people who care about him and are followers. I just can't believe he did it before the bowl game.
