WOW - I just sold my old gold........

Has anyone used Gold Cycler? They are based in Florida. They advertise on t.v. and on line. I called them recently, and asked how they compare to the competition, and the reply was that they cannot really say, and that they have a complete customer satisfaction guarantee.

I wouldn't use them. The 2 companies mentioned in this thread have proven to be the highest paying

What about stuff that has stones in it? Do they give you anything extra for the stones?

I swung by Fed ex today and grabbed a box so I can just drop it off myself. I got a small box, but it is still really large. Is that what I am supposed to use or is there something smaller I should have asked for?

I send mine in one of the fedex envelopes

Good luck! Let us know how you make out! How much are you sending in?

Thank you for the advice. I may still go ahead then and use USGB. I believe that is the abbreviating. This other company has an offer of adding an extra 5 % to your payment. That sounds pretty good.

:goodvibes

The best I can figure is that I have less than 1 troy ounce. Between that and the fact that one pin, has a very pretty filigree design, so it may be worth more as jewelry. I have not sold it as of yet, to a gold buyer. So IDK. Any thoughts? ........... TIA

I would like to hear more about this and if anyone has sold their diamonds and platinum to US gold buyers. The process looks different for those, and takes longer.

Anyone with experience? I have a wedding set from a previous marriage, and the rings are platinum with 18kt gold and 5 diamonds. The largest is 3/4 carat.

I don't wear jewelry at all. I do have a few pieces that were given/passed down to me over the years. So that being said:
1. How can you tell if a necklace is real gold or gold plated?
2. Do they pay for gold plated or just solid gold?
3. Who pays for shipping?
4. Last but not least, say I'm not sure if what I have is real or not - will I be charged for mailing them junk? Will they send it back?

The rings I believe are gold just not sure how to determine if the necklaces are. Thanks for input and advice.

Which companies are the best ones u guys are using? I'm trying to find them on this but there close to 200 posts, lol. ;) Thanks!

Why don't you just give them to me...I'll take them off you hands. LOL

Can anyone help me? I never ship things in the mail. I'm not really understanding the instructions for usgoldbuyers.
It says put the things in a ziploc baggie. Done
Then in a box or manilla envelope. I have a small petmeds box so is that ok? then I address it with the usgoldbuyers address and maybe ductape the box. I put the method of payment in that box? Or do I put the method of payment in the second box that fed ex supplies? I am hopeless.
Then what method of payment should I use? I would like a check of some sort or a moneygram would be fine but would you have to pay to get the moneygram reimbursed? What methods of payment have you used--I do have paypal but have only used it once as a method of payment when we sold some Neil Diamond tickets a thousand years ago and I don't think we ever figured out if we were paid or not lol.
Help. I've called them about 3 times now and am just not getting it...I'm not normally this stupid...I just want to do it right.

Jayne....the baggies and pet med box are fine, but get the paperwork from the gold buyers. They will also send you a label for the envelope or box that you use. They will send you a method of payment form on which you also list what you are mailing. That way....you are covered by them for lost or stolen items and they pay the postage. I did mine wrong. I sent it out myself and had to worry about it getting there (which it did). It cost me appx. $13.00 I think to mail it - and they would have paid that if I'd done it right. I just got too excited. :rotfl: They can mail you a check which you will receive within a couple of days from accepting their offer. Don't worry about calling them too much either. They are making LOTS OF $ and this is their job - don't let them intimidate you. Hope you get a ton of Disney bucks! :woohoo:

Well I just got my offer of 141 and I'm happy with that--they said they'd send me back the stuff that wasn't. I'm mostly just curious because I think I found a new hobby lol. Really the only things I was sure about were 2 rings and they were only 10 and 12 carat. The one ring was my first wedding ring which one of my cats ate the diamond out of. :scared1: The second was a 10th anniversary ring I got from my company that was way too big for me and I was just going to donate it anyway (was kinda ugly too). :)
Overall very happy with them, sent the stuff on a saturday afternoon and got a call on Monday.

thank you for this thread!!!Sent in dh old class ring (hasn't worn in 20 years no sentimental value) and a couple of broken chains sent stuff Monday got a call last night $715 :cool1:
dh was shocked he laughed at me when I was sending it in and told me I would get about $40 LOL

Great idea! That's one thing I didn't think about. Thanks for the share and try spray foam insulation.

Is it better to take small diamonds~maybe 1/4 carat- out first and do something else with it or send it in w/the gold? I've got an old 'promise' ring (what a joke that was :rotfl2:) that if I can find I'd love to get some cash for.

I am heading down to the world in June if I can find a few extra bucks!
thanks

I asked US Goldbuyers about that as I sent in a ring with a mystery stone. Apparently they will price the stones, too, if they are worth something.

I just send the second, smaller bunch of old crap (hahaha!) from my jewelry box. Over the weekend I had a local jeweler who advertises they are the highest paying gold buyers in town. It is reputable, the jeweler we go to. They offered me $50. US Goldbuyers just paid me $68, so not a TON more, but almost $20 and worth the little bit of extra effort! So thanks to my old gold, I have made almost $200. Not bad considering what I had wasn't at all nice and hasn't been worn in 10+ years. I saved a bunch of things that are nicer or I might wear again or pass down to my daughter.
