WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I saw how much gold you sent in but how much was it worth, if you don't mind my asking? Thank you!

GF accepted a 10k ring, an 18k ring, and a 10k bracelet. The other two bracelets and earrings were worthless to them. I got a check for a little over $40 for three small pieces. No big bucks for me.

Sorry Madge, didn't see this till today. We requested a check. It came within a week (maybe 4-5 days? My memory is sketchy... )

I understand about the sketchy memory. LOL. It sounds like I've got plenty of time to ship my gold & get a payment before the end of the month. :)

Thanks!

I know it's hard to really know...but I went to a local one in my area, who's doing it for the weekend, buying gold. I had about 1/2 oz according to my Weight Watchers scale :lmao:  and they only wanted to give me $105. I thought I had the same amount before, but had gotten more.

Thanks for the post(s) on this thread. I read this back in the spring and meant to send in some items too. Time passed, and I forgot about it.

With a vacation coming up, I recently requested info from "goldfellow.com" and received my envelope/packet last week.
I went through all of my things (I don't wear much jewelry and really don't have a lot)--stuff I've had since I was a teenager & sent my things in a fedex envelope yesterday.
It consisted of several necklaces (mostly silver, a few gold--one 14kt the others 10kt and very lightweight chains), bracelets (one or two 10kt, the rest silver), some pendants (not sure if all were "gold", one was 18kt, few 10kt, a couple silver) some earrings & backs (some silver), 7 rings (I believe all were 10kt gold, 2 were class rings) and a brooch (not sure if it was gold--waiting to see what they mail back to me that they didn't accept).
Today (I thought FAST), I received my "settlement offer" e-mail and was surprised that it was $384! Per this thread, I did write on my packing slip that I heard about them on the "DISBOARDS" and, it was noted that they applied it to my amount received.
My money will be sent to me by check. I received more than I expected and was pleased with how fast and easy this is!
The only thing I would do different is not send in my silver chains--I didn't really get much for the silver items.
Just wanted to update and thanks again to OP and all that posted.
:)

That's terrific goofy4wdw59!

If only I hadn't disposed of the broken bracelet when we moved...wasn't much, really lightweight, but it was 10k and worth a little something other than garbage.

I keep thinking I'm going to go yard-saleing or flea-marketing looking for someone else's junk only to find treasure.

Okay guys

I am looking for some Christmas money and want to sell mine. This thread is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy to long for me to read. Who gives the best price, do I mention I am a disboard referral and how do I find out the current price and if it is a good price right now?

Thanks!

I went to Goldfellows. I don't know if they pay the highest or not, but I can say that I had a check in my hot little hands in 4 days. They have an informative web-site and when the lady called me w/ my offer, she was as sweet as pie.

Is selling gold still a decent deal right now? I heard it wasnt as good as it was...:confused3

I just got my check from Gold Fellow last week for $201.
I sold some old broken herringbone necklace, bracelette, a couple charms and a coin.

I'd rather have the cash than some old junk sitting in my jewelry box!

Plus I got the 10% extra for the Disboard!

Gold is down from where it was earlier this year, but its still close to $800. As PP said, worth a lot more than sitting in your drawer.

I sent in some old rings and a serpentine necklace the other day. I got an email offer for $94 and accepted it. I have no idea if it was a good deal or not but I would never wear any of the items again - and who can't use the extra money right before Christmas?

And like others, am seriously daunted by the length of this thread and can't swim through it.

Canadians - where do we go?

Am I understanding correctly that mentioning the Disboards gets you a higher amount?

Anyone sent anything in lately? My Mom just gathered up some stuff and since we're going to WDW in March the extra $$$ would come in handy.

Does anyone know if they take white gold?

I was thinking the same thing. I missed the boom a few months ago. But it is still just junk sitting in my jewelry box

Yes, they take white gold also. I sent in a wide variety of 10, 14 & 18kt of both yellow and white gold and they took all of it.

I always thought mailing your jewelry to someone and them giving you a quote was sketchy - how do I know that they looking at each piece. I went onto goldfellow's website and I am quite surprised!! It says that they actually videotape each package being opened and they insure your fed-ex package. I guess I should try this - like all the PP's have said, better to have a couple dollars instead of junk in the jewelry box. I must have 30 charms (back when it was cool to have a charm holder!) and my dh's wedding band from his ex (I would like to watch that one melt :rotfl2: ) his broken rope chain...I better get looking - I might have alot!!

I just sold my gold to US Goldbuyers and got $1,112. It was so easy and we are so excited!!! This will fund alot of our Disney trip this year!!
