WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I have a question ( I'm sure it has been asked a dozen times but I have only been reading this thread a few days so I apologize :) )

I am going to send a few things to GoldFellow and I wanted to know when you printed out your label to send it in with did you just use plain printer/copy paper or do you need to use a special paper ( like one you use to make labels so that one side is sticky) ? I hope this makes sense, thanks for any help :goodvibes

Just use regular paper. There is a plastic sleeve on the Fedex envelope that you slide it into.

ok, I just requested my shipping package. I called first, I can def see what everyone is talking about with the customer service. However, you can be as rude as you want if I make some serious ka-ching!! :cool1: :cool1:

sent to goldfellow yesterday-the website said my settlement was 384.00
with the diboard added-took it-charms, broken, bent pieces

ok i thought 250.00 would be good- secretly hoped for a windfall but
nice to have some found money:cool1:

I got $154 from Goldfellow. In retrospect I should have waited and used USGB, but the operator was really rude (like that matters once the cash is in your pocket, right?)
I sent in a 10k gold ring, missing it's stone
2 14K gold chains; a 14k bracelet; 2 broken 14k gold earrings; 2 14k charms.
5 silver rings; 2 Large silver shrimp earrings, one broken.
I think I would have gotten $50 to $90 more from USGB - based on their published payout less 10% (I read somewhere they deduct that amount for less than 5 oz?)
Oh well, it was just junk sitting in the bottom of a box...but I'd hoped for a little more.

Thank you :goodvibes Is Goldfellow the one giving an extra 10% for disboard members ? If so were do you note that so they know?

Wow Goldfellow is quick! I got home and had a messsage that my settlement was ready. I got $568 for a bunch of broken stuff that we never wear!!!:cool1:

I feel like I just won a little lottery! I was expecting it would be around $200, or at least that's what I decided that I'd be happy with.

on the packing slip that you include with your jewelry

Can anyone tell me which (GF or USGB) is the easiest to send in? We live in the boonies and I have no idea if there is a FEDEX location nearby. No Kinkos, etc. We get FEDEX deliveries, but I'm not sure how to send this stuff in exactly. I'd be happy to just to get it out! THANKS!

I want to thank all you guys on the DISBoard & the OP! Used Gold Fellow. Sent my package in yesterday. Got my e-mail settlement tonight. I accepted it for $525.83. I would probably have never known about this if I had not read this board. You guys rock! :cool1:

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great info :goodvibes I will be sending some off to Gold Fellow tomorrow.

I called this afternoon, the rep who answered advised me to go online to get the shipping info....so I assume they still are. Their website does say they are taking 24-48 hours to get to packages, but I dont think it's taking that long.

Yes they are!! You just click on click here for your free express package and enter your info and they send you an email.

I clicked on and printed the info. Its says I have to call Fedex. Is that what you had to do? Also if I call Fedex, how soon before they come? Thanks so much. I'm usualy in and out and waiting for them all day is like waiting for the cable guy.. :lmao:

Thanks for the tip -- I'm very happy with my Goldfellow settlement. I sent the package fed ex on Friday and received settlement on Tuesday afternoon.

Can you send sterling silver to Goldfellow?

Yes, I sent my old sterling herringbone necklaces, some bracelets, rings that were too small etc. Sterling doesn't pay nearly as much and I had quite a lot but I did get $200 for the silver which I was happy with.

I chose to pack it and mail it myself rather than have Fedex come to my house. I had a padded envelope at home and packed it up and then went to a Fedex location and put it in a box and followed the USGB's sample Fedex form that came in the mail and sent it off. Worked like a charm.

Can't help you with their coming to pick it up since I didn't do that.
