WOW - I just sold my old gold........

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

WHOoo I happy! I mailed my stuff (junk) to Goldfellow on Monday (dropped it in the FedEx box on Sunday afternoon). They received it today and offered me $500. It wasn't much, a horrible thick tri colored gold chain DH had bought about 15 years ago that went right into my jewelry box and never came out, a heart link bracelet that I love but was beyond repair.:sad2: and a dozen mismatched hoop earrings. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

This stuff has just been sitting in my drawer for years! Thanks so much OP. That's $500 that I'll be spending in the Vista Spa.

The only sad part was right before Christmas I actually threw a bunch of big 80's ghetto (think mini hubcaps) gold earrings away. :scared1: Thinking because they were basically junk no one would buy them. :headache:

Anyway Thanks OP!!! Now I have to decide whether it's going to be the Exotic Rasul or the Castaway Cay Couples Cabana Massage. :cloud9:

I requested a company check on Thursday and I got it on Monday via Fed EX with my returned junk like my "worthless" school ring (according to them). I had to have $15 off of my payout to get the items returned and that may be why I got the check so quickly:confused3

I really enjoyed my transaction with Goldfellows. The USGB gave me an Ulcer:rotfl:

Either way - I have more money than I did and a SHINY, PURTY, NEW IPOD TOUCH. It's now my precious:hug:

Good luck - hope you get it soon!

Thanks! I forgot to ask how it would be mailed!

could someone pleaseeee tell me if any of them take broken gold watches?? I have an old Gucci one from years ago??

yes, Gold Fellow. I had two watches in my items. One had a broken clasp. They don't care if it is broken. All is melted down. They do take the face out of the watch.

HI,

I'd still like to hear from someone who accepted a payout from USGB and requested a company check instead of paypal. I did and I'm wondering how long its gonna take for me to get it. The sent it supposedly Friday.

Thanks!

there have been a few posts and people in new england area got it in a day or 2...can't remember where post was, but that's one reason I decided to go for check....still have 2 weeks before vacation, so I figured I should have by Monday (I'm in MA, they're in NY) and then if I deposit tuesday, it'll clear before I leave the following thursday...if not, it'll clear while I'm at WDW..no biggie, as long as it's deposited before we leave.

Sorry one more question ... If I decline will they (goldfellow) send my stuff back without charge (I thought they did but when I checked thier site it does not clearly say that ... it just says free shipping there ... nothing about returning.)

thanks again

Somewhere, burried in this thread--lol, someone reported that you had to pay for the shipping should you decide not to sell.

HTH!

I think that is USGB.

This is off the Goldfellow site:
GoldFellow™ will ship your items back to you via FedEx® Express Saver, but will only insure the package for the value of your settlement.

I think I will send in my wedding bands that USGB offered me $150 for to Goldfellow to see what they offer. It would be very interesting if the numbers came up way different, hmm? Heavy 18K gold = more than $150 to me...

I've been following this thread and decided to try Goldfellow. I sent my stuff yesterday. It's not alot, most of it is broken and none of it has been worn in years...so I figure why not.

It seems like a few of you have had to negotiate with USGB. Anyone had to negotiate with Goldfellow? Just wondering!

I didn't negotiate with them but I had forgotten to put down that I was a member of the DIS for an extra 10%. I had sent them an email with my shipping reference number but they hadn't read it when they called me with the payout figure. They cut a separate check for the extra 10%. Like you, most of my stuff was broken or mismatched and was simply taking up space so I was glad to be rid of it and to get $360 for it!!!! Good luck.

Goldfellow got my package this morning! I don't have an offer yet.
I'm so impatient! I'm like that little kid who's too excited to sleep, except I'm too excited to stay away from my mail box looking for an offer

If I may ask.......what is the benefit to choosing goldfellow over USGB? Does one pay out more than the other? :confused3

From following this thread, it seems that USGB pays more but Goldfellow seems to have better customer service.

That's just my observations from reading this thread.

Just wanted to put out there that there is a huge market for old Gucci stuff - even broken. You may want to try ebay first on that one.

I sent an second package to GF and they received it this morning too. I'm crossing my fingers. Still haven't hrad anything yet. I also used the trackpack instead of printing stuff off...

After my big pay out from USGB last week ($1460) I wanted to have a gold party. I know some others have mentioned it (seemed like from Michigan and Boston areas). I found a jeweler who does this and my party is next Wednesday. I hope I can make some more extra money. Wish me luck !!:wizard:

I sent mine to Goldfellow yesterday and it arrived this morning...nothing yet as far as my offer though.

You're right staceyshearrion...it's like trying to sleep th night beofre a trip to Disney.:cool1:

Where should I send my gold to? I originally sent it out to Cash4Gold, and it took ONE MONTH for them to send me a settlement! My local jewelry store offered me $ 266.00, but I wanted to see if I could get more! Cash4Gold sent me $40.00. What the?????? I had a bunch of 18k gold pieces too. So now I want to try a better Company. Who's the best?

After reading a ton of posts, I went with Gold Fellow and sent my stuff off this morning.

Hey everyone!
I have called every single jeweler in the city nearest to me. NONE of them are willing to do a gold party. I am bummed, I guess I will just send my gold in. Is there a secret to finding someone?
Thanks,
Heather
