WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I asked them (US Goldbuyers) yesterday when I had them on the phone if they were open on Saturdays and they said no. I don't think you'll hear from them tomorrow.

I shipped my stuff off this afteroon. I hope to hear on Monday, but now I'm thinking it will probably be Tuesday since they are behind.

Good luck to everyone. Hope the gold prices stay high for all of us waiting for payment amounts.

Thanks to the original poster. I certainly would never have thought to do this.

That would be worth about $744.00

:woohoo: OMG! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the input. If I received that I would be SO happy! Guess since they are closed tomorrow I'll have to wait until Monday to call....

I read through the posts but I can't find an answer to " what happens to items sent in that are not real gold, ie filled, etc" WIll they send them back? Do you have to make a special request? I'm probably going to use usgold or goldfellow. Thanks.

I just wanted to post thank you to everyone for posting their wonderful results on selling their gold. I spoke with DH last night and he thinks it is a good idea as long as I'm not sellng any heirloom pieces which I'm not. I have several rings, a couple of bracelets that are old and haven't worn in years, mismatched earrings and several pairs of earrings I got when my mother died last year that I'll never wear and I wasn't able to give away to anyone. I also have a gold watch of hers that she gave me a long time ago that I would never wear - not my taste and the watch part is way too small for my aging eyes. I know she would be happy if I got something for this and I have plans to put the money towards a vacation for this year or new bedroom set. DH looked through his stuff last night and this morning I found his wedding band from wife #1 - guess he figured he didn't need it anymore - since we've been married for 19 yrs next week.:rotfl:

I didn't get a call today either. I listed 2 different numbers in case. Bummer.

I sent mine out on Wed. and got no call yet either.... I'm getting a bit nervous hoping to hear on Monday. I would have thought I would have heard today??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Uuugghhh! Still nothing. Guess it will definitely be at least Monday before they call me! I just hope the price of gold doesn't go down then, since it was the high today when I thought I would be selling it.

My aunt used to own a jewerly store and still deals in it she told me today that gold is just over $1000/ounce.(I should have waited) My sister took a few things to her a few days ago and got over $1500. And 24K is top dollar right now!!

Oh nooooooo!

Congrats to your son though! :woohoo:

Thank you!!!...the past week has been crazy getting everything ready for the COH. We have 6 boys becoming Eagles officially tomorrow. Just finished making 20lbs of pasta salad:guilty:
Good luck to everybody in the goldrush!!
Kerri

I sent mine to Goldfella on Friday Morning so I will let everyone know when I hear back..... .probably not till the middle of next week the earliest as it says business days and it won't get there till Monday or Tuesday.

Actually, since 14K is only 58.5% gold, the price of an ounce of pure 100% gold (currently $1,002.50) would need to move a lot before it would have a significant difference on the payout for your jewelry. Unless gold drops $50 or $100 an ounce, it would be a very minimal difference. Even if gold dropped all the way to $800, an ounce of scrap jewelry would still be bringing about $420 rather than $496, which is still pretty good. $5 or 10/oz swings aren't going to matter much.

In a few years when gold is $1600 - $2000/oz, I imagine people will be kicking themselves for selling their stuff too early and too cheap. :confused3

Is there a preference between USGoldbuyers or GoldFellows?

I've never sold anything and clueless to this process. :confused3

No kicking here......I am off to buy an Ipod Touch with my $$ from my old broken loot:thumbsup2

Who knows what the future will bring for Gold prices and I deserve a fun treat now that I would normally never buy:cloud9:

I NEVER splurge on myself and I am not one to wear jewelry so I didn't have so much to sell anyway. I only have about 4 pieces that I wouldn't part with for the world.

I am so happy to buy a toy for me that I feel like am riding the Biscuit Train with Gravy Wheels:yay:

I sent my stuff to usgoldbuyers. Fed ex picked it up on Friday afternoon and it has been delivered. They (usgold) told me they usually do not work on weekends, but might this weekend due to high volume. They still told me not to expect a call until Monday or Tuesday. I wll report back when I hear something!

is 10k gold worth anything at all? that's what most of my old stuff is-mainly earrings.

OSUMouse - Thanks for the update. I too mailed mine yesterday. Checked FedEx and mine too was delivered today. Wasn't expecting delivery until Monday.

I'll be watching for your update as mine should be shortly after yours!! I'll post too in case mine is before yours.

Patiently waiting for my settlement amount and delivery of the $$$$$$$$$$!!

Yes, 10K is 41.6% gold as opposed to 14K at 58.5% gold. 10K should bring at least $10 - 11 a gram. 14K is bringing around $15-16.

Still trying to find out if they will send back you stuff if it's not real gold.

I went with goldfellows. I sent it off Wednesday afternoon and had my settlement offer by Friday afternoon. The offer noted a piece that was not real gold and said they'd return it. I emailed them immediately and said not to bother, they could throw it away but they had already mailed my check and the worthless jewelry!! Goldfellows was super to work with - fast and professional - AND I got the 10% DISboard discount! :goodvibes

So is goldfellow the company we should go with? Anxious to sell as gold prices are goign on this wild ride I just want cash :)
