No way to know. They measure in troy ounces ,which is not the same as an ounce, then it depends on the karet. Your golld isn't 100% gold, so you could only have actually 1/2 ounce of pure gold. No way to know. You could go and take it to a jewelers and see what they say, but I wouldn't sell to them. They really low ball you.

thanks, I guess I could try to see what conversion there is for ounce to troy ounce to have an idea..
I'm doing what one of the PP did. I'm sending in stuff from old guy friends. Let's hope it's a good payout!!!!! lol.
I'll let you know what I get. I'm hoping it's enough to pay off my the rest of my WDW trip.

24k gold is pure gold, so your 14k is just over 50% pure gold (58.33% pure to be exact). Troy ounces are similar to regular ounces (something like 1.09 regular ounces for a troy ounce), so if you have 3.1 regular oz of 14k gold, then you approximately 1.5 oz of pure gold...at $1800ish an oz, that is a pretty pay day. Keep in mind that most reputable gold buyers will only give you 80% of what the gold is worth (they need to make some money in the process), and some crooks will really really lowball you.

24k is not pure gold. They actually had a graph on the today show the other day about it because gold is so high right now. They can't make jewelry out of pure gold as it wouldn't hold up. pure gold is soft.
edit to add, it is probably the purest gold you can get though, not being a bar of gold. I have read a few things and there are mixed things stating 24 K is pure gold, while others say it's still mixed....I guess it depends on who you go to.
Did anyone from Tuedays call get their check yet?
I got an offer call at 6 p.m Central Time Tuesday night and still have not received my check. I live in the Chicago area. I called yesterday and they wouldn't even check on the status, but told me that they are processed the same day the offer is made and it takes about 5 business days to receive the checks. I'm hoping it arrives in today's mail. It will make the weekend go better! Good luck to everyone waiting for their checks.
I went to the kiosk at the mall today and had 10 CT with a dwt of 7.5. I had 14 CT with a dwt of 3.6. I received $239. Was thinking I would get more but![]()
