WOW - I just sold my old gold........

None of my stuff has any markings with the exception of one doubloon that says .999 pure silver.

I have some gold jewelry from my grandmother that is over 50 years old, some is broken and some I won't ever use. But nothing is marked. Should I try?

Has anyone had the payment deposited directly into your bank account? I read of some using pay-pal, but I;d like to put it in a savings account - not sure how comfortable I am giving out that info though.

TIA!

I just want to clarify that people are sending silver also? I couldn't find anything on pricing for silver on their website, but people here are stating they sent in sterling. If so, can I send it all together?

Thanks!

When you send in your items, you have to fill out a Method of Payment Form, PayPal is an option, or they can send you a check. They will do a wire transfer if your payout amount is over $2500. There was one other form of payment, but now I'm forgetting what it is! It's on their website too.

They say the checks take 3-5 days in the mail, many people have said that they received them in 3 days. Tomorrow is day 3 for me, so I'll let you know if it makes it here by then.

Well after finally sending in my stuff (3 necklaces, 4 charms, charm holder, a bracelet, and three rings) of various 10k to 14k, I got my call yesterday afternoon, and $390.xx was my offer. I can't complain, it was all stuff that I hadn't worn in 20+ years, and now I am $390 richer. :thumbsup2

I sent my package in yesterday, they received it this after noon, and called right before 6:00 with the offer... a little over $900!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

I was so happy, and my husband was shocked! He figured i would get two or three hundred at most. They said I should have the check in three to five days!

Thanks everyone who posted their experiences; I would not have sent mine in if you hadn''t! Good luck to veryone else just sending theirs in!:goodvibes

I am new to the thread and trying to read back - but who did you send them to?

I just had a message from Steven so I called him back and it was the stupiest thing ever. He answered put me on hold, some girl answered and asked who I was calling for and I told her Steven but he just gave me to you, she put me on hold and Steven came back on to tell me he's going to call me before 6pm. WTH?

I am such a dork but I have a nervous feeling in my stomach now wondering if I did the right thing.

Well, after 6 calls this morning - 3 to USGoldBuyers(email never came until the last rep sent it from her personal account) and 3 to FedEx, finally speaking with a supervisor (geesh, I thought it would be so easy! lol) my stuff will be picked up today! Took me from 8:50 a.m. until 11 a.m. to get it settled. I do wish we didn't have to fill out the FedEx form after Fedex arrives.

I have more than I thought - some of the chains and bracelets are good weight. We have a few more, but packed away, might dig those out over the weekend.

Here's what we sent:
8 necklaces - 14k or 18k
6 bracelets - 14k or 18k
4 rings - 14k
3 charms - 14k
1 pair hoop earrings 14k

Hoping for $200-$300, but it seems offers have been all over the board so who knows - until tomorrow. :)

Thanks for the info about the payment method micheleq.

It is exciting! Thanks everyone for your help!

Can I not just take my package to FedEx? It seems silly to have them come get something this small. Also, am I supposed to have it in something ready to ship or do I get that from FedEx?

We ship FedEx from where I work so I got it ready there and did it all in the computer. Was easy as pie. I ran it through the system at 7:21 and they picked it up at 12:54 and it was delivered this morning in NY.

Good luck to all who are doing it!

Doing it from work would solve my problem of not being here. Did you have a box or envelope to ship it in or did FedEx provide that?

Ok, nevermind. Duuuhhh! :) Just read my directions. Says clear as a bell how to pack it. Thanks.

I also took my envelope to a FEDEX store/service ( Kinkos in my case) The employee weighed it and I filled out the form info, and he entered everything into his computer, and off I went. Whole thing took maybe 3 minutes? Just founf out I will be gone between 5 and 6:30 today...( so much for the tennis carpool) bet I miss my call for sure...do they call back the next day if you do missit? I know they have my cell# as well, but it would be my luck that they don't bother calling it. I also left my email , has anyone been notified that way?

We have silver and gold things - the on line chat person said mail it reg mail? Does that seem crazy?

USGoldBuyers should send you an e-mail with instructions and their FedEx account. Don't sent it in the regular mail -- that sounds phishy to me...

Well, I didn't ahve as good of luck as the rest. They just called and said the only think worth anything were the rings and they'll give my $67 something. He said the bracelets and necklaces were misleading for me because they all do say 14K but they are not. Whatever that means. So I told them ship it all back. I just faxed them the release form so I better get it. He jumped down my throat when I said I want it all back. He said, "well, did you think it should be more?" And I said, "yes with the 14K tags on all those items I guess I thought they really were 14K." Those were my moms so I'll give them back to her. I decided to have them send it all back because I figured after he jumped me they maybe were really gold and he was trying to scam me. Who knows. Kinda crappy though. Good luck to everyone else!

How disappointing! I would do the same and have it sent back immediately. Could it have been 14k plated? Sometimes those do have the stamp - which is confusing. At any rate, for sentimental purposes alone, it would not be worth $67. Maybe you could try a couple of local places?

I really do not expect much either. Waiting for FedEx to pick up.
