They signed for my package at like 10:30am yesterday, called me at 5pm and my money was in my paypal account by the time I got home at 7:45!

After reading this thread for months, toying with the idea, gathering my old gold jewelry...I finally took the step and packaged up my "treasures" and dropped them at FedEx last night. My package should arrive tomorrow...then I have to wait over the weekend! Darnit, I could have timed that a bit better.

Anyway, fingers crossed for a nice chunk of change to come back. Here is what I sent in (not sure what is "real" gold and what isn't, although I think most of it is).
one men's ID bracelet
1 women's thin chain bracelet
8 women's rings (with stones still in)
2 pendants
3 sets earrings (that were gold nuggets)
3 hoop earrings
2pr gold post earrings
1 mens ring w/gold nuggets
1 ladies chain necklace
1 ladies chain necklace with gold nugget pendant (a small glass pendant about the size of a nickel filled with small gold nuggets).

Not sure how real unprocessed gold nuggets are calculated? Any ideas?

Will keep you posted on my total...it is fun to read of people's successes. Sort of like our own "Antiques Roadshow".

Ok...Just got my call. I figured I would get at least $200, would be happy with $300 and excited with $400. I was offered...

$421.32

So...I am pretty excited. Of course, in the back of my mind had high hopes for more$$$$$! LOL. But, it is more than I had with those items just sitting in a drawer. It is sad to think of how much was spent on those items when purcahses vs what they are worth melted down. Oh well...into the Disney Fund the money goes. Fingers crossed for a January 2010 trip.

A spa (hair salon, health club, spa services) where I get my hair cut is having two gold parties this month. I'm going on Monday, taking a few pieces. They'll take sterling silver too so I might dig through my jewelry this weekend to see what-all I can find. I can either get a check or choose to instead get spa gift cards for 20% over the check amount.

I'll update on Monday.
agnes!

Me too.....looking through my stuff there is just a small amount.

After lurking here for several months, I sent my jewelry off yesterday via FedEx and it was delivered this morning. I am anxiously awaiting my phone call. Whatever they offer will be more money for Disney!:banana:

Well, I finally got my act together and sent in my silver on Saturday. Yesterday I received a really nice offer of $354.09:) That should help pay for my October trip to the Epcot food and wine festival!

The bad news was that not everything I sent was real silver so I have to figure out about how to get those items sent back to me----the gentleman---I think his name is Stanley----told me to look for a release form on their website---does anyone have experience in doing this? Please let me know.

Thanks!

ok i'm going to send my stuff tomorrow wish me luck! :goodvibes I have Sterling silver, white gold (do they do white gold?) and 10-14k gold items. I am calling today since i only requested the stuff online after hours. Maybe i can use the $$ for MNSSHP tix!? or a day at a Disney water park??

Jumping on board! I have just a few pieces, but wanted to ask where's everyone sending to? US Gold Buyers? I read thru their website and they seem very well established. Or if I send to goldsellers.com are they still giving an extra 10% to DISers? I read that in one of the much earlier posts on this thread, so I don't know if that is still going on.

Thanks, and congrats to everyone who got great settlements on their jewelry! :thumbsup2

I would really like to know this as well. We've considered using a local place, but seems what I've read here that may not be the best way to go.

TIA! :flower3:

I'm pretty sure most of the people who posted on the most recent pages used US Goldbuyers.

For what it's worth, USGB paid double what a local jewelry place offered me. Would recommend them without hesitation.

Thanks for answering my question LexiC123. I will give them a call and get the process rolling!

Thanks much!! Do they have a website or should I just call? TIA (again!)/

Minnie&Nana, they have a website, www.usgoldbuyers.com, and I just chatted online and gave them my info, and they sent an e-mail with the instructions.

I only have 3 or 4 pieces, but they have been unworn for a decade, might as well see what I can get for them, right?

Good luck to you too!

Thank you so much!!! Like you, we have a few pieces, but 10+ yrs ago bracelets and chains weighed more, so hope that will help.

Good luck!!

My husband just e-mailed me an article from the Wall Street Journal online -- gold hit $1000 an ounce this morning.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125239334081791743.html

I sent out my FedEx box to USGB on Friday afternoon, so it should get there today. Now I am really curious to see the buyout with the price of gold up! I only sent in three necklaces and a pair of 14k gold ball earrings, so I am not expecting too much overall. I'll post what I get offered!

I saw that on the news this morning as well. I'll be very interested to see what you are offered as we have just a few pieces as well. So ;et us know when you hear back, please? Thanks!

Time to get ours together, me thinks!!

P.S. Gee, got most of ours together and have way more than I remembered! Several broken necklaces and bracelets from the early 90's when prices were heavy and sold by the gram. DD is going to get hers together this week and then we'll check out the website to see how to send it off. Thanks all!

I have just joined, but have been "lurking" for awhile. I'm very excited to send some of my old things to USGoldbuyers today! Thank you all for the valuable info here, and on the rest of the boards!:goodvibes:goodvibes

this past weekend I took one ring into 2 local shops to sell.
I was offered 160 in the first and 175 ion the second.
I was curious as the ring was purchased by my late Grandma for 850 (she got totally ripped off which I sadly knew )
Its one that is going to usgoldbuyers...so it'll be interesting to see what they say/offer.
bringing stuff in rather than mailing................
let you guys know
