WOW - I just sold my old gold........

FedEx picked up my stuff Thursday afternoon and Friday around 5pm I got a call from USGB. $790!!!!!!!!!! This will be a nice addition to our cruise fund!

Once I had a roommate who had her own small dental lab. She made caps, I think. Anyway, she used to buy gold through the mail. It came in small, thin sheets. Maybe that's what they're talking about.

WOW interesting. LOL

Okay I am confused on the process. Some people are saying that Fedex picks it up. How does one do this? Are we paying to mail the gold stuff into them? A representative called me yesterday when I was out and wanted to make sure I got the the forms via email and if I needed anything. SO if someone could tell me how this works I would appreciate it. THANKS

Hi Denise, I sent my stuff via USPS because it was easier for me to access the post office than do the FedEx. You can always just mail it through the post office and that worked just fine. My package cost around $5.00 to mail so it wasn't so expensive that I even bothered to worry about whether they reimbursed me or not.

They send you via email a sheet to download and print out where you put your name and address and note how you want to receive your payment (check, paypal, etc). They also send you instructions, including a picture of a filled out Fed Ex label that shows their Fed Ex account number and their address, etc. You just fill out a Fed Ex label and send your stuff (along with the sheet you downloaded and filled out) to them in a Fed Ex pac or box. Anyway, I already had the label and the pac at my work so I just filled it out, took it to the local office supply store that has a daily Fed Ex pickup and gave it to them to send out. It was really easy and didnt cost a thing. Another option is if you can find a Fed Ex pick up box, they usually keep labels and other supplies in the box that you can use to send your stuff out in.

Ok, I'm going to do it. After reading thru this thread, I dug out my old stuff. Crossing my fingers for something good!

Where's Pluto?: go for it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I sent mine off on friday and its supposed to get there by 3:00 today. So I am on pins and needles waiting to see how much I will get. I keep telling myself a really low number so that I wont be disappointed if its not as much as some others have gotten...at any rate, it will be more than I had and will go towards my trip in december so its all good! But still, on pins and needles! :headache:

Sending mine out today via fedex (thanks to all of you who've done it without experiencing any issues I finally felt comfortable enough to do it). I sent:

3 rings (2 are 14k, 1 is 10k)
1 charmholder (not sure what it is)
3 charms (1 is 14k, not sure about the other 2)
1 bracelet with nameplate (wasnt marked but I got it as a kid and the lady spent ALOT of money on it so I know its real...its that oddly colored italian gold with a really thick nameplate...always hated the thing because the nameplate was so heavy it would end up on the bottom of my write and all you could see up top was the ugly clasp)
1 thin chain with nameplate (14k)
1 rope chain (14k)
1 thicker herringbone chain (14k)
2 ball earrings (not sure what they are)
3 small hoop earrings (again, not sure what they are)

I'll let you all know on monday once they call...I'm hoping for at least $100 but would be super excited for $300 or more! (secretly I'm wishing for $500 but I'm a realist so I'm not going to hold my breath on that one!)

Of course they called when I stepped away from my desk. Luckily the guy left his name and I called back and got a hold of him. I was having trouble understanding him so I forgot to write down the amount but it was $202 and like 60-something cents. Not as good a payout as some of you have gotten, but still thats $202 more than what I had when my jewelry was just sitting there!

Next step, yard sale in September! :cool1:

Sent mine out yesterday, so keeping my fingers crossed. Guessing about $100, but would be thrilled with more. I sent them:

1 Gold band ring
1 pair of small gold hoop earrings
1 pair pearl earrings with 14K gold posts
1 pair of earrings with 18K gold posts
1 platinum over sterling silver ring
1 14K gold ring
1 14K gold charm bracelet
3 14K gold charms

So after I said I was sending mine in last week rolleyes1 I finally sent it in yesterday.. keeping my fingers crossed. Would be happy with 100-200!

For those of you that have had items returned to you, did you accpet the offer they made, and have the items they told you were not gold, returned with you?

I accepted the offer the made on my items, but requested that they send back the items that were not gold. I filled out the form as they requested and emailed it in, and I received my check, but not the items.

Before I call, I just wanted to see if this process took a bit of time, and maybe I wasn't being patient enough.

Thanks!

For some reason I keep thinking that I read somewhere waaaaay back in this thread that if you accepted the offer you didnt get the non-gold items back? Of that it cost to do so? Maybe someone else can clarify this and help you out...

Very happy with my payout :cool1::cool1: $250.00 more than I had a day ago! YIPEE!

BTW the rep said a pair of my earrings were not gold and they said that I could either have them back or donate them to the Salvation Army which is what they do. I opted to donate.

:banana::banana::banana:

They give you the option to have your items sent back that were not real or donate them to the salvation army. How long has it been? I would call them tomorrow and question them. I always tell them to donate what isn't real. But one time I sent stuff in and the offer was not good so they sent everything back. I got it back in about 4 days via fed ex!

What if there are stones/chrystals/diamonds in something? I dont care about the chrystals but i have a diamond heart pendant.

Darn it, I missed the call. He left his name & phone number, so I will give him a call this morning when they open at 9am. Hoping for at least $100 to help pay for my MNSSHP tickets.

Well, I got $152.05, but did not send alot, so I'm happy with that. Will look around the house for some more to send. Was hoping for more, but am fine with what I got. It should be in my PayPal account within the next 2 hours, then can transfer it into my checking account. This will help pay for my 2 MNSSHP, plus some to go towards some other stuff.

I'm going to do it as well after reading this thread.

I called and they e-mailed me so I'm going down to our local FedEx place - it's not far from where I live and sending a package tomorrow.

Did any of you pack it in a box or just an envelope and then a small FedEx box?
