From the wdwinfo dining menus section (restaurant description)...

"Ohana is the wildly popular restaurant on the second floor of Disney's Polynesian Resort that does not deserve the reputation it has. The large room overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and a pool. What was once a view of the Magic Kingdom is now mostly blocked by the large volcano structure poolside. Appetizers are served family style and entrees are served from large skewers. The food quality varies from mediocre to poor. There is relentless Hawaiian 'lounge act' type entertainment that includes singing, ukulele playing, limbo contests and races where children push coconuts around the restaurant, all on hardwood floors. The noise level is extremely loud and the ambience is best described as chaotic. 'Ohana has a large and loyal following who obviously see something we don't."

Oh well, hopefully this will open up some more reservations for those of us that like this place.

I still love the food at 'Ohana even with the changes. The staffing leaves a lot to be desired though. Worse service we ever have is at 'Ohana. We go there at least once each trip but most of the time twice!

I like Ohana, however, the Kona Cafe has better food

well i sure has heck loved my ohana breakfast much more than i liked my kona breakfast

one word... YUK!!:sad2: At Dinner the food was dry and the service was horrible. I hear the breakfast is good though

Jenny, shhhhhhhh...the more peolple that go to O'Hana the less will discover The Kona Cafe.:lmao:...Kona is one of the best restaurants in WDW...IMO.

Oh I love O"Hana too.. I guess they were looking for something less child friendly.. my daughter loved the coconut races!!
Oh well then less people gping to so easier for me to get a reservation :)

Me too! There is very few things I like at Kona any more. The seafood chowder is great but the other stuff has gone downhill.

:confused3
We loved it in November! We're going back in July with my sister and her family for their first time. I thougth the food was great! The kids had fun playing and we sat back and enjoyed the meal. It was a great relaxing meal for my dh and myself while the kids were entertained.:woohoo:

I think Kona is one of the best on Dis property too!! Wasn't impressed with O'hana for either dinner or breakfast - dinner the food was dry and breakfast everything was cold!

Isn't it funny how there are so many differing opinions (which is a good thing)...see, I liked Kona for breakfast, but wasn't too impressed with dinner...maybe I need to go back and try something different (or try it for lunch)?

We love 'Ohana. DD thought it was awesome- and while she was having a grand time, her dad and I got to kick back and enjoy fruity drinks. Fabulous. (Thought the food and service were great, too.)

I haven't had either Ohana or Kona Cafe for breakfast,so i cannot accurately comment on that.

We loved O'hana...thought it was very good with good food and atmosphere. Everyone has the right to their thoughts on what they like to eat and where. Actually, my favorite Disney property restaurant would be Olivia's at OKW....which I know most people would not agree with.;) to each his own.

Add me to the list who think the review is dead on. It may be that the families with children who participate in the games have a different experince.

Something for everyone....

We had amazing service at Ohana's...guess we must have been lucky to get the one good waiter. I think the entertainment would have been hard to stomach if you didn't have kids.

We have ADR. Since it is only DD15 and myself, would you recommend canceling?
