That's not a bad collection, but if it weren't for one particular pin, i don't think it'd go TOO awful high (say, about 4 dollars a pin or so...too many for it to go MUCH higher). The one pin that kind of blows the curve is the Small World Clock Face award pin from DL. That one alone usually goes for over $100.

I put this on my watch list so I could follow it. It's always fun to see the REALLY high priced auctions go off

I know the seller. He's a really great guy at DL. Is out there practically every Sunday with a glass frame case with all sorts of pins (not too many LE's or ones that collecter's are after) but he trades anything for anything with the kids (1 for 1). He's well liked for this reason. I hope it does well, although I'd really like to win it myself! If I only had the money!

wvrevy - at $4 a pin it would go to $440. If it doesn't go much higher than it's at at the moment, someone is going to get a real steal!

I just meant that I can't see it going much higher than that ($4.00/pin), because there are so many pins. If he'd have cut it down to about 50, it might have gone a bit higher, but still below cost. That's the thing about these big pin auctions...you can get some great deals, as long as you are willing to shell out some serious bucks in the process.

I don't know the seller personally, but I have won auctions from him, and he's just a sweetheart. Last auction I won I got a very nice deal, and I asked him about another pin, intending to pay what he asked, if he had it.

His reaction was, hey that's make a round number and just sent it along just to be nice.

There are some other pretty nice pins in there, the loss prevention, the mystery pins, etc. I hope he does well with the auction. He's a real gentleman.

I haven't looked again in the last couple hours, but earlier today I noticed that the current high bidder was one of our own DIS members.

Some were still on the racks at the end of May. But still a nice collection.
Whose house can I move to if I bid and win on it? (DH would have a fit! )

The seller did not claim that <b>all</b> the pins are retired cast or LE, just that a lot of them were, and a lot of them are. He also started the auction at less than $.65 a pin, with no reserve. That'd be pretty good, even for rack pins.

We have bought from this seller before too.. he is great to work with!

And as far as it being a lot of rack pins.. fine with me.. I'd still love to have this collection. Anyone notice that one particular rack pin --- Stinky Pete?? He's worth a pretty penny himself

I have dealt with this seller many times and he is the best! Very prompt shipment, super communication and just a nice guy to deal with. I'm hoping he does well on this one although it's too rich for me. Should be a great deal for a newbie with some money to spend.

But you are right.......for the $, GREAT collection for someone starting....or lagging behind like me.......

I am glad he is a nice guy.......I am going to keep his name for when I get $......I would feel confident bidding on his auctions after hearing all your comments!

He does do smaller auctions too, so if you keep your eye out, you can get nice colections in bite sized lots.

Lynnie, I often check ebay and search just using the words "lot" and "lots". Sometimes people will have auctions up with smaller lots of pins that are a bit more affordable for people starting to collect - or looking to play catch up!
