Would you upgrade from 9C to 9A on the Wonder?

We’re kind of right at the amount we feel comfortable spending in the 9C room. We’re pretty frugal but we don’t mind splurging a bit sometimes if we feel like we’re getting a really good upgrade. It sounds like the 9A room is nice but in most opinions, probably not worth $600 more since the 9C room is pretty good already. It would be nice to have th extra money to put towards excursions for sure!!

We’ve sailed in 9A, 9B, and 9C on the Wonder and Magic. We preferred the 9B and 9C over the 9A. I like being closer to the water in an ocean view. I like how the ship lights up the water at night. When you are on deck 2, it’s more interesting to me!

I think you are making a good decision by sticking with the 9C!

Great info, thanks for sharing!! I’d probably prefer 9B since this is our first cruise so I’m not sure how the motion will affect us all, but I’ll have to watch and see what opens up.

We've sailed 9C GTY on Magic twice. It was fine. I wouldn't say I love being on deck 2, but I wouldn't pay more just for a higher deck or midship location. Certainly not $600.

We're currently booked in a 9C GTY on Wonder for the more-or-less sold out WBPC next March. I check every so often to see what other categories might open up, but even if something higher opens I doubt I'd be willing to pay for it. The jump to verandah would probably be quite significant, and again, no real interest in paying any amount more for a 9B or 9C.

I think it is doubtful you'll get a 9B room with a party of 4. There are only a handful of 9B cabins that sleep 4, most of them sleep 3. The ones that 'do' sleep 4 are right next to the start of the 9C rooms. The last cruise we chose a 9C right next to a 9B room, and saved $80 over the cost of that room.

Ok, good to know! See, I really know nothing about this! Hahahaha! Is there any way to see how many fit in each stateroom? I know if I change my search to a party of 3, a lot more show up. Maybe that's the only way to check?

That's the way I do it. Not sure what else to do! I know about the ones on deck 2 as we've booked there twice and the 9B rooms appealed to me...but there were so few of them that sleep 4...and they're so close to the 'cheaper' 9C rooms that I saw no reason to 'splurge'. As the ones that sleep 4 have the bed that pulls out of the ceiling, there's likely a reason the mid ship deck 2 rooms don't have them--my guess is something in the ceiling prevents it--pipes/wires or something.

We’ve never cruised before so I have no experience. We’re booked in a 9C GTY oceanview room for our cruise on the Wonder in January because that’s all that was available when we booked. I see now that some 9A rooms are available to book - on decks 5 and 7. The 9C rooms are on deck 2. Would you switch for an extra $600 for a family of four? I’m not sure what the difference is between the decks. Thanks!
Have you checked the price of a 7A? That's a navigator's verandah, and they're often about the same price as the 9A oceanview rooms. I'd definitely upgrade to a 7A for that price. I probably would not bother upgrading to a 9A, though.

I'm assuming this is for a 7-night cruise?

7A rooms only sleep 3, OP needs a room that sleeps 4. It would be a great option though if they did sleep 4!

There’s been no availability for verandah rooms (probably because we’re a party of 4.) but I would upgrade to a navigators verandah in a heartbeat for $600!!

Absolutely LOVED both of our sailings on Deck 2 OV! For our third cruise we stayed on Deck 6 Verandah on the Magic. I liked it but did not like it more than Deck 2. I would for sure stay on Deck 2 if I was you!! Have fun!

Another Magic/Wonder deck 2 lover here!

I think 1 big port hole is better than 2 small...but then as I need a window, I'd think 2 small is better than no windows! Only deck 1 has the 2 small portholes. Deck 2 all has large portholes with the 9B category having slightly larger portholes than 9C.
Oh good! Moved up from deck 1 to a 9B deck 2 room. We had a verandah on the Dream a couple weeks ago and liked looking out to the water.
