I sort of remember the 25th anniversary. The pink on the castle. I've been there every year since 1987, but I don't really remember much of the special features or extras with the anniversary celebrations.I'll be there. Got a park reservation for October 1st in MK. I have an AP so even if I just see what's going & am there I am fine with that. Haven't decided on the rest of the weekend yet what to do. I happened to be at Epcot a few years ago when they had their 35th anniversary. Nothing crazy (some buttons, photo opps) but it was fun to be there that day.
I'm hopeful that with the mass vaccinations (supposedly within first 100 days of Biden's reign right?), that fireworks will return even earlier than one might think. They have been testing fireworks, and working on Harmonious. And they're opening BB in March. To me, if you can have guests without masks, at a water park, then you could have fireworks, parades, and shows. But there's also money to be saved by the Disney Co., so who knows when.I wouldn’t move your trip just for that week. I’m planning a trip in early 2022 with the hopes that more will be back and the 50th anniversary celebrations, whatever they may be, will still be going on.
We are in the avoid crowd for 10/1, but considering going two weeks later for my birthday. While we love Disney we aren’t super fans that feel any need to be there on the actual anniversary.
CongratsHave my park reservation for MK on Oct 1st! Haven't booked anything else and even just got a 1 day ticket for now as I have no idea what that trip will look like, but made sure I had that day booked the day it opened. Can't wait!
My guess is they’ll increase capacity for the parks between now and October so we’ll see more availability eventually.
wow, your resume is awesome. I think it would still be neat to be at WDW during that day, even if not at MK. It seems like they've been expanding park reservation availability, you just have to be right on top of it when they do.I was at Disneyland for their 10th. I was working at Disneyland for the 25th and 30th. And again (in a different job) for Disneyland's 50th and 55th. I was ready to work for the 60th, but we all know what happened to that celebration.
I'm a new WDW visitor - my first trip was 2008 - but I would love to be there for MK's 50th. I wonder if it might be worth it to just be in The World on that day even though I couldn't be in Magic Kingdom...
Pondering...
...and maybe flight prices will be higher?
