A friend at church met a guy on Match.Com. I happen to know this guy from many years ago, haven't seen him in 12 years. He's VERY rich, recently divorced and owns a local restaurant. She went out with him the other day for the first time.

Last night dh & I were at "his" restaurant and I saw him in the bar kissing a woman. (Very tacky for a 45+ man who owns the place IMHO) Anyway, dh saw the church friend today. She told him she went swimming at this house last night. Yes he has an indoor pool at his house. I told you, VERY rich.

Would you tell the friend? I mean they are just getting to know each other. But would you want to know if the man you are getting to know is getting to know other women too???? This wasn't a quick kiss at the bar, the woman was all over him.

I'm thinking, we stay out of it.

For some reason the loyalty always lies with the 'Love' be it old or new.

It's too early in the relationship for this to be a concern. He's just divorced, so he could just be testing the waters. If they were exclusive that would be different.

As long as he isn't leading your friend to think they are in an exclusive reltionship, then I see no reason why he cannot date as many people as he wants.

I assume your friend is smart enough to be careful as far as precautions etc are concerned.

No, I also wouldn't tell at this point. If she was led to believe that he was seeing her exclusively, then yes, I would, but not at this point.

If you're close enough to her that you could ask if they're exclusive, then I might think about it. But it sounds like they've just started going out. I've never been the type that dated more than one person at once, but I guess some people do that and think it's normal.

Ok, I'll post the dissenting opinion. I would tell my friend. I would be very angry if the situation was reversed and a friend did not tell me.
