They've got us right where they want us, in the dark. When will codes come out? Will they come out? When they come out, will the resort I want already be booked? Should I go ahead and reserve a room? Or if I do, and everyone else does, will that lessen the chances that there will be codes? Arrrgh!!
No problem. My parents booked SOG, no codes there. But sure would like an AP code for our first two nights before they get there to let us in SOG.

After out Sept trip last year, we decided to try the Swan or Dolphin next. So, codes won't mean to much this year for us.

Just my 2 cents, but I would just book what I could afford right now. If/when codes come out, I would upgrade.

yeah,,and i am the CHEAPEST person in the world,,,hehhehehe,,,,,and WE are going in JUNE,,,,no codes and only maybe a AAA discount, and we are gonna stay on property( when it is KILLING me to not stay in kisssime at one of those great deal places....argggg)

You only live ONCE. So that means YES, we are still going with or without codes.

ummm ya - Im going with cash and last yrs DVC points
IF codes come out I would definately try to grab one - if not, we are going for those 14 nights anyways!

I wouldn't stay at a Deluxe without a code. No way would I pay rack rate whether I could afford it or not. My plan is if codes don't come out, I'll either rent DVC points from someone or hope for a good discount for the S/D through DIS. I can't believe in my heart of hearts that codes won't come out.

I'm with Kimberle, if I don't get a discount code, then I'll be back at the Dolphin. I'd love to stay at the BC or Poly, but it's hard enough to justify paying $50 more per night to be at the BC instead of the Dolphin, much less paying $180 more!

It looks like you go most every year. You should buy an AP. They offer great discounts off most of the hotels. As you may know only one person in the party needs the AP to get the room discount and if you book next years trip a bit earlier you get two uses from the pass saving more money.

We'll go with or without a code. We book what we can afford, then if a code comes out, we can upgrade. If it doesn't, we'll go anyway, but I wouldn't pay rack rate for a deluxe!

We will go BUT we won't stay in our regular spots (monorail resorts). I would try my best to get a discount at the Swan, or even rent a vacation home with pool. Maybe the suits will see that they are still making money when offering codes. I just can't see myself paying rack rate again.

We would NOT be going without a code for this trip. The email pin code we got is THE reason we are going....instead of our Cape Cod trip we already had planned. We aren't spending much more to do this, so had to go for it.

Other times though, I would still say NO, we wouldn't go without a code. I know the code system enough to know I can pretty much always get one, so why would I..kwim? It has been my experience each and EVERY time I have booked for me or others, that if you call and get a "No", just call back again and again and amazingly they are all of the sudden available.

When I called to make ressies, I asked about prices in the regular resorts for SoG people. The CM said there is a discount, but she didn't know what it was, that I would have to ask SoG. SoAG says that only comes into play when they are full, and they still have 20 rooms to go for our May visit. Does anyone know how much the mods are through SAG once they are filled? Right now SoG is less than POR, but I'd rather stay at POR. Thanks.

We are going in April. Currently we only have a AAA discount on the room.

I am going with or without anymore discounts. :Pinkbounc

But I sure do hope for a good AP rate or a code! :cheer2:

We're going without a code. We planned to go in October and I was going to look for codes, but my husband is looking for a new job and was worried that if he found one he would have trouble taking the time off so soon. So we moved our trip to late February-early March, and we're going without codes. We figured that going without codes was better than not going. We just switched to a value resort for this trip instead. I think my toddlers will like that, and we'll watch for codes to stay at AKL or POLY next time. I wouldn't stay at a deluxe without a code.

Yup couldn't find any codes, think they had already expired for March when I booked but oh well I think it will still be worth it. (Even though I keep thinking about the $39/night I got on priceline last year grrrrr) But this will be worth it, I keep telling myself that....

I believe Shades of Green overflow rates are similar to public code rates (25 -30% off approx). A friend went in early December 2003, right before Shades reopened. They got All Star Movies for around $49. She was thrilled.

I have an AP but even THOSE codes aren't guaranteed... Yes, we still go even without codes. We have DVC, but those darn points are just like money -- never seem to be enough! We like to take longer trips by adding a few cash nights. So we'll be there in July, but if no codes come out, I will be at Riverside instead of the Wilderness Lodge!

I will still go, I need my Disney fix, however I just might not stay on sight, for the price of a value we could rent a pool home 5-10 minutes from disney and get a whole lot more space, and have our own private pool and jacuzzi. I love staying on site too, but rack rates...not so much.

Nope...but I live so close that we go five or six times a year. I am also very flexible with my dates, so if they don't have my original dates I move them around. A few years ago codes were getting fewer and fewer so I became a DVC Member now I book my main vacations through DVC and the other trips I use the codes (I just can't justify rack rates and owning DVC) I've never payed Rack Rate in over 20 years of staying on property.

Of course--I would still go!! dvc points and I have 1 night cash ressie-- I only need the code for one night--if good enough code 2 nights
