would you skip epcot with 5 year old

Also, if I were going to do more than one day in a park, I'd pick MK, but the next park to double up on days would be EP. I want to eat my way around World Showcase. I'm not a big eater nor am I a fan in general of Disney food in general, but I love the variety in Epcot.

My almost 5 year old really liked Epcot. He loved Soarin and test track. He also loved seeing all the vegetables and fruits growing at the flower festival, along with the land boat tour which he saw more plants growing. In innoventions he also enjoyed the Great Piggy Bank game.

My kiddos love Epcot, so no (like everyone else) I wouldn't skip it. Last summer we spent the whole day there including EMH, and we didn't get to do all we wanted to!

No! There is soooooo much to do in Epcot. There is no way that he won't find a bunch of stuff to love.

Our last trip was in Novenmer, our son was 5 and daughter was 3. Epcot was both their favorites.
Its not your father's Epcot anymore.
:)

Would u skip epcot with 5 year old or wait and see if we have time for it at the end

Definitely not! If anything, I would *start* with Epcot (as children are more likely, at least from advice I've gotten here, to like it if they haven't experienced MK yet).

We took my nephews to WDW in March - they're 3 and 6. We went to Epcot on our first day, and they *loved* it. Their favorite area was The Seas with Nemo and friends - they adore aquariums, so we spent a lot of time there. They also loved Figment, Innoventions, Soarin, etc. I would definitely go!

I am sooo glad I came across this thread... I wasn't that enthused about taking my 6 year old to Epcot (this will be the first trip to WDW for our family) but I wanted to go. Now I'm sure we're hitting up Epcot after reading everything here! Thanks everyone! :thumbsup2

My daughter loved Epcot when she was little. And that was pre-Kidcot. I think she was 8 the first trip that she made a mask. She liked the countries, the movies, the attractions. Epcot is still her favorite and she is 21. I definitely don't recommend skipping it!

Never, Epcot has always been my daughter's favorite park. Believe it or not she loves WS, always has. When she was 3 she LOVED The 3 Caballeros ride and Finding Nemo, o and Turtle Talk. Mostly she has always enoyed discovering WS. Now that she is older she enjoys Test Track and Soarin.

We did this on our last trip and as we were leaving Epcot for the night I asked my son (who was 3 at the time) if he had a good time?

I got- "I thought you guys were taking me to Disney World, and you took me to Epcot instead!":rotfl2:

We're still laughing about it 2 years later! Other than his little meltdown at the end of the day, he loved Epcot and can't wait to go back. He still talks about the ride in Mexico and meeting "Mexican" Donald. We're planning 2 Epcot days this coming trip.
