Would you put your 4 year old on Mission Space

I WOULD NEVER put my 4 yr old on MS!! EVER! i must say that because i can barely handle the ride!! as for any other rides my husband and i would have to ride them first ourselves (one of us at least) and from there decide if it is too much for my child.

My 4 & 6 year old meet the height requirements for MS but I would not let them ride. They would be too scared. My 9 year old rode it with me last trip.

I didn't get a chance to read all the replies but my son was 4 when he rode this ride last month, he barely made the hight requirement. I can say that he absolutely LOVED it. This is the type of kid who cries when he isn't tall enought unlike his sister who is tall enough for all the rides but would rather stick with Dumbo and such. He actually went back a day or so later to ride it again with my husband but it was shut down. We were at the airport to go home when we saw the story on CNN about that poor little boy. That was kinda freaky to listed to them say a 4 year old boy just died on that ride (which was why it was shut down when my husband and son went back)and my little 4 year old just rode it the day or so before. While I think this and other stories like this are very sad I realize there are millions of people who ride these without incidence. So bottom line yes my 4 year old rode it and I know he will want to ride it again this Oct.(if it matters he is 5 now and maybe a little bit taller).

I would let my 4 year old ride if he met the height requirement, and if he wanted to ride. I can't see most 4 year olds wanting to ride, but if he did and I knew that he would enjoy it, I don't see a problem.

Hi!

Nope, I wouldn't let my 4 year old ride Mission Space. Me, DS7 & DS9 rode Mission Space a couple of days ago (TWICE!) and I thought it would be too intense for a 4 year old.....but the older boys had a great time!

Personally I would never put a child under the age of 8 on M:S. I have ridden it 10+ times and love it but it is very intense and could be scary for little kids. Also, if your child has a medical condition that you know about don't put them on the ride. There are NUMEROUS warnings and many people sadly ignore them. If these warnings weren't serious Disney would not post them! This is much like the issue of the 16 year old girl who went into cardiac arrest yesterday after riding ToT. The way I understood the reports she and her parents knew that she had a heart condition. She said she would be fine and rode anyways. People just need to pay more attention and use common sense.

I wouldn't let my 4 year old ride this ride, regardless of his height. I don't think at that age they can understand that it is pretend and not reality. Nevermind the fact that they would easily look away from the screen and then get sick. Who wants to have this ruin a day at the World!

I think it's awful what happened to that little boy, but as others have mentioned, it must have been in connection with a medical condition that they didn't know about.

We always go on questionable rides first and then decide whether our child would be able to handle it, regardless of what the height requirement says. The height requirements are only there for safety reasons, they can't dictate whether it is appropriate for a child's maturity level.

I think it will be a few years before my son graduates to MS, he needs to go through the natural progression of rides first to build up to something like that.
