Would you go on a free trip now?

I have the opportunity to go on a free trip through work to Cancun for 6 days. It is sponsored by a hearing aid company and includes some educational seminars during the day that would help me get 2 years worth of continuing education credits needed to maintain my state audiology license. I usually have to pay for these seminars myself and take time out of work or go nights and weekends.

Airfare and hotel is paid for and food and drinks are all inclusive so it really would not cost me anything. The problem is that I would have to leave my kids and husband alone for 6 days. I am a little nervous about travelling now but I have travelled a lot recently with no problems. I just don't know if it is worth the risk. I would love to have some time to myself. My kids are young and I work full time so I little "me time" is badly needed. I have never gone away by myself and I just don't know if I would feel too guilty to enjoy it. I am also feeling a little underappreciated at home right now. I would love to give my husband a chance to see exactly what I do for a while.

Would you go or would you be too nervous?

I'm actually taking a business trip in a couple of weeks, and tacking on a couple of days at WDW before hand. I am leaving my DS with his Godmother for a couple of days, and with my DH (his father) a couple of days. I completely understand about 'ME' time.

I am a little nervous, but I am going.

Yes, I would say go also. Although, I know I would be nervous, I would still go.

Just in case you decide not to go, do you think your company will let me go in your place???? ;)

Try to go on one of those snorkeling excursions if you have time. Waaaaaaaaay fun! :bounce:

I wouldn't go, but only because my DH wouldn't be going with me. I don't really like traveling without him in good times...

Id like to nominate myself as a first alternate in the case that Barb is unable to attend to her duties ;)
Seriously I would go.

What is it youre nervous about? I guess thats the whole point. IN the best of times, would this bother you? Is it that youre bothered about leaving your kids and DH for that long? Or is it the war?

If youre nervous anyway, in the best of times, then I guess theres your answer. If its the war, I would go anyway. It might bother me but I dont think I could pass up a trip like that ( especially if its furthering your career ) just *in case* you know?

Absolutely... no one is backing me in a corner.........you go and enjoy.. :)

Totally free, all expenses paid, free drinks, Cancun, 6 days, gorgeous beaches, swimming, snorkeling, relaxing by the pool..... Hmmmm......

Wouldn't have to ask me twice!!! :teeth:

I'd go. I wish my work was sending me to Cancun!:) I've never flown before, so I doubt I'd have any other nervousness than just from that.:)

I'm going on a cruise in a few weeks, and I'm paying for it.

A freebie is a no-brainer....GO!

Absolutely. It sounds like the benefits of your attending are very valuable. I would go. I would be nervous, but I wouldn't let the world situation scare me into not going.

I would go. JMHO...I plan on keeping all my trips, without any change :)

I will not change the way I live my life. The terrorists win if we do that, and I will CERTAINLY not allow that to happen!

The only free trip I'd decline is a week in Baghdad.

I wouldn't even think twice about it.
