Hi,

We are visiting from the UK and planning on visiting DL next November however there are lots of closures due to the Star Wars Land construction.

We visit WDW every 18 months but will probably only visit DL this once. Would you wait till this construction is over?

We are trying to visit every Disney park in a space of 12 months and postponing the DL portion will muck that up but would hate to go and miss out.

I love Fantasmic at WDW so really its that closure that is making me question my visit.

I don't think there is a definite timeline for the new star wars land to be done. Maybe I'm wrong, but it could go into 2018. I've heard at least 18 months.

Sorry I didnt mean for Star Wars land to be open - I meant for all the 2016 closures to be open again. Like Fantasmic etc which are due to open again in April 2017

I think that's a tough question because we don't know what will happen in the future. The Rivers of America area is slated to be closed for more than a year (which means it'll re-open sometime in 2017, but no official date has been announced). After that, we don't know what will be closed as part of the construction of Star Wars Land. It might be nothing or it could be more areas will be closed as needed.

Given that this is probably your only trip to DLR and F! is an important part, I would probably wait until you knew for sure when it was going to be back up and running before scheduling the trip.

If you like Fantasmic at WDW then I would wait until the one at DL is back up and running again so you can see the show there. I think the one at DL is a better show than the show at WDW.

If it were me, I would wait. If I were only going once, I would want to time it as well as possible to see everything I can. Unfortunately we don't have end dates for a lot of the closures going on, so that makes more detailed planning difficult, but I would rule out 2016.

Wait.

(Help keep the crowds small for when my family is there next summer :D)

You could wait, but what if in 2017 they shut down other things while contructing SWL? The new land probably won't be fully done and ready to go until at least 2018 or 2019. I guess if Fantasmic is important to you then you should hold off until it's back up sometime in 2017.

Thanks all, you really have all just confirmed what I was thinking.

Back to the drawing board about the dates of my trips

I would wait until everything is back up at Disneyland so you could enjoy the full park. (my own opinion)
