Would you buy tickets from a ticket vendor?

Is this illegal or not? I have been looking on ebay and I can save a few bucks if I buy from one of them, but is it worth it? Also, I don't want to do it if it is illegal and a few people put in feedback that it was, but other people said it wasn't. Does anyone know?

I would only advise buying from authorized 3rd party vendors like Undercover Tourist.

I don't know if it is illegal or not, but I would not do it. I think the chances of being swindled are way too high. I buy tickets from Undercover Tourist. Their prices are complete, including taxes and shipping. If you subscribe to MouseSavers newsletter, there is a link to UT to get a few more dollars off. :goodvibes

Don't tickets have people's names already on them though? I'm confused how this would work.

Every Disney park pass states on it that it is non-transferable. Meaning, 2 people cannot use the same park pass. So if you are buying a partially used pass, then that is illegal.

Even if you are buying a pass the buyer states is brand new, I would be nervous about it. There is no way to know that the pass is any good until you are at WDW with it. It is possible that you could end up with an already used pass, and be stuck paying for new pases on the spot.

If you purchase tickets from an outside ticket vendor that is not authorized to sell tickets for disney you may run into two situations.

1) you may buy the tickets, get to the park, and get in with no problem

-or-

2) your tickets may not be good (ie: not have any days on them or be linked to someone else) and you will be denied access to the park. At this point you will either have to go back to the ticket vendor and try to get your money back and then repurchase tickets from disney.

While Disney does have some ticket vendors that are legit, there are many illegal vendors out there as well who are trying to make a buck. When I used to work GR I had the unfortunate job of turning people away from the parks many times because the tickets they had purchased from outside ticket agents were not the real dea.

I agree with the above posters. If you buy the tickets off eBay or Craigslist, etc., there is no way to verify if the tickets have already been partially used (in which case you cannot use them since they are non-transferrable), etc.

Undercover Tourist is highly recommended and they are an authorized seller of Disney tickets so you can be sure they are valid.

Have a great trip.

Only APs and advance purchase tickets for parties have names on them. MYW tix are tracked by the finger print scan.

I would not do it. The Undercover Tourist website found on mousesavers.com would be a great place to start and remember their prices include sales tax and shipping. They are a Disney parks USA Selected Ticket Seller - Disney's authorized program for ticket resellers

For us NO NO :scared1: some say undercover tourist is fine or if going thru travel agency but I do not want to take a chance of paying for them "twice":sad1: and some going to laugh but never on e bay.:thumbsup2

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #20, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. Then look at Post #14.

Agreed with the above posters - Undercover Tourist is a reputable dealer, and has been used by many happy DISboarder's.

We've used UT twice now no problems and I've recommended them to friends w no problems. I would go w/ them :) as stated by others....

I, too, looked on ebay and was tempted. I read the feedback of the seller but, in the end I decided against it. It is just too risky. I have purchased three times from undercover tourist and they were great.
It is just not worth it to me to take such a risk to save $100 (or less).

I would never purchase tickets off of Ebay. There is no way to tell whether the tickets are good and yes, it is illegal. You should only purchase Disney tickets from Disney or an Authorized Disney Ticket Vendor such as Undercover Tourist.

It is not illegal to buy tickets on eBay (or Craigslist or anything). What is illegal, in the State of Florida, is to sell partially used theme park tickets.

Now as far as stupidity, that is another story entirely...

I've used few different vendors and haven't had an issue. Like mentioned jus make sure they are Mouse approved.
