Would you bring a toddler to Teppan Edo?

We first took my daughter when she was 3. She loved it! She sat perfectly still for the entire meal (which was a first for her).

We have always taken our kids to hibachi restaurants since they were very little. We celebrated my youngest dedication with family at one 2 weeks ago because 1 year old this is his favorite restaurant :rotfl:. My older kids are 4/6 and very accustomed to it and can eat with chop sticks and always get shrimp-which they love. My baby adores the noodles. He is all about the food and is so excited as each new item is fixed and added to our plates.

We are skipping Teppan Edo because we heard that they do only noodles no fried rice- and my older kids do not like the noodles and would be very upset.

As for "Big Fire" during the show they create a small flash fire on the grill- 2-3 seconds tops, my oldest has some emotional issues and it kind of scares him and so he sits far back until it is over, and the baby gets kind of a frightened look but no tears and it is over really quickly. Most older kids/ adults like it.

I would suggest doing it especially if you can not do hibachi locally.

My newly turned 4 year old loved it. She was seated at the end of the grill with me. The best tip I can give you is a mid day nap if you are going to dinner. My DD loves sushi so when we ordered a appetizer she tore into that. She must have really been hungry! They also give the kids crayons and a coloring menu. I have to add that I think the chef toned down the performance as not to scare my daughter.
Here's a pic of the kids meal.

**My first post - yeah!!** I'm actually going to take my 2 y/o there in April. However, we have taken her to the local Japanesse resturant and she LOVES it!

My kids went to Teppan Edo for the first time at 2 & 3...they loved it!! They sit them at the end of the table...far, far away from the grill.

OP from what the PPs have said, it sounds like a good option for you!

Teppan Edo is one WDW restaurant we've been wanting to try. We opted out for our upcoming trip because we will have 3 little ones with us (a "worldy" 3yo boy and his twin 1yo brothers). We often eat at a local restaurant that does flambé pasta and the boys are not bothered by the flames, but we are at a table some distance away. Based on what others have said about juggling around ONE high chair, I think we've made a good choice to put Teppan Edo off until all the boys are out of high chairs.
