Would you book these flights now?

We were planning to fly out of Manchester NH next Feb 25 (Sat). Flying in and/or out of Boston is kind of a pain for us. We usually fly into Tampa and see the relatives before WDW and return from Orlando or Tampa.

Song has an early flight (6:10) which would require that we stay over the night before that is $74. all other flights for the day (and weekend) are $250 right now. We'd probably stay sat night and fly Sunday AM in this scenario.

They have $74 seats available on the way back from both Orlando and Tampa, but the times from Tampa stink so we'd stick with MCO even though I prefer Tampa.

The question is:

Are these prices so good that I should lock them in and not wait to see if JetBlue and/or SW (out of Manchester) have flights that fit our preferences better? I would much prefer to fly out of Boston later in the day if we do need to fly out of Boston, but that's a big $$ difference.

I'm a little concerned about Delta's financial situation, but with the new terminal in Boston and them stressing the FL routes I'm pretty confident that even if they went chapter 11 they'd keep these routes going.

Last year they made cheaper seats available on other flights as the year went on, but I can't see them getting much cheaper than $74, and of course I'd be unhappy about paying $250 per person each way. I would be surprised if something cheaper than $250 didn't become available later.

Should I bite the bullet and grab these seats now or wait and see what comes up later that may fit into our plans better?

Thanks for the input.

I would ABSOLUTLEY book them now. $74 out of the NE in February is a good price, and you may see it go a 'tad' lower, but not enough to justify playing the waiting game.

I'd be booking in a heartbeat.

An FYI for those thinking about flying early in the AM. We booked a room at the Sheraton 4 Points (a few miles away) with the Park and Fly option for $145, which was actually cheaper than the $22/day to park in central parking at Logan.

The flights were actually $69 plus tax ($82.70 total) so the total with tax is $662 for airfair roundtrip. Not bad for that time of year.

I've been monitoring February flights as well, the week you are going is February vacation so you will want to book ASAP. I've also noticed that the flights seem to go down Tue-Wed during the week so I'd wait and check the available flights on a Tuesday and book then. I don't believe you'll get any better than $74 or $79 one way but they do increase the rates on the weekends so beware! Not sure if Hartford is an option for you??

Another vote here for booking them now. JetBlue and SWA know that they don't have to give away tix for this time period, and so I expect the prices will be pretty high when they come out. This looks like an opportunity for you. Maybe SWA will come out with something better out of MHT, but then you would have to wait and miss this opportunity. The park 'n fly option sounds like a winner too; Logan parking is just punishingly expensive, so staying overnight (which you would do anyway) and getting parking for your vacation in the deal makes this a bargain.

Bite the bullet; grab it; save the money for your vacation. Song is a fun airline to fly. Enjoy!

(I was also lucky enough to get the $82.70 fare for the outbound leg of our February trip, and at perfect times for us. Sadly, I missed the 331 day date for the return, so it looks like I'll have to pay full freight for that one. We're still pleased with the deal we got.

Oops, I guess I forgot to mention in my last post that we did book the flights and the Sheraton this morning.

Thanks to all for the good advice.
