I'm asking now in case I don't get a chance to sign on tomorrow morning before we leave for the hospital.

My 14 y.o. son is having an Endoscopy to see why his acid reflux is so bad. They're also checking to see if he has H. Pylori, since his symptoms seem to match up.

He'll have IV sedation and won't remember anything which is good, but when I signed the consent for the procedure, the risks were a mile long, including esophogeal perforation! :faint:

It shouldn't take too long to do, about 15 minutes the doctor said.

I'm not usually one to run here and ask for P&PD everytime I need it, so if you could spare some for my son, I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks!

good thoughts headed your way Blondie :) I'm sure he'll be fine.

Lots of pixie dust AND prayers coming your way!

Prayer said. Hope all goes well for your son.

I was in your position exactly two weeks ago tonight- DD was getting Appendix out and she is now running far more than I want her to! He will be fine, but I remember all to well how helpless you feel.

Sending TONS your way! Tell your DS to hang in there! ERD is such a painful thing....I am sure all will go smoothly and you will know what treatment to follow thru with. I am glad you let us know about DS, I bet there are a LOT of folks who have info /suggestions for you if it is ERD. DH was diagnosed several years back but has not elected to have surgery yet. Please keep us posted!

Prayers and Pixie Dust for your DS and your family. Please let us know how it goes!

 A friend of mine did this recently. She said it wasn't too bad, but did have a sore throat afterwards. Stock up on some popsicles. (She took about a day to recover but they had done this test and the Colonoscopy on the same day.)

Consider it done!:D

And just for the record, I had an endoscopy done not too long ago, and while it wasn't the most pleasant thing in the world, I really didn't feel much at all. I was awake, however, and watched (sort of) it on the screen--very surreal. I'm sure he'll do just fine.

Please give us an update on the findings and GOOD LUCK!

I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all goes well tomorrow.

Take care,
Annemarie

Just said a prayer for him. My SO had that done last April. The found out he had H. Pylori and a hiatal hernia. The H. Pylori was easily treated. He's on Prevacid now and doesn't have a problem with his acid reflux, or the problems he had with it as long as he takes it.

Good luck to your ds. Is this your elder or younger son?
