Would you all keep my son in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow? (Update pg.4)

I'm not usually one to run here and ask for P&PD everytime I need it, so if you could spare some for my son, I'd sure appreciate it!

No, you aren't BUT - you are always one of first to lend an ear and a say a prayer to all who ask you.....:grouphug:

Prayers for your son and prayers for strength and comfort for you and your DH, too. Please let us know how the test went.

Sending along my prayers and PD to your son and you too! Let us know how it goes.

Prayers on the way. Our ds had it done 3 years ago when he was 9. They let us go with him into the procedure room and let us stay until they started the iv and he was getting sleepy. We were in at 11 and out by 4. He got out of the van and started running around the yard. That night we had to take him with us to get our taxes done. They said he wont remember it, but he was describing things in great detail to me. He was upset that he could only have a bland diet for the next day and a nurse made the mistake of telling him he could have graham crackers when he woke up. All his tests came out normal. Keep us informed. They will give you pictures from the camera too.

Most definately. All I can muster.

Both Prayers and PD headed your way~
He will be fine I am sure.

Cathy

Prayers being said. I know exactly how you feel. My 7 yo DD has had 2 endoscopy's done. The first one was when she just turned 4 and I cried and cried when we had to leave her. She was completely out, but it was so emotional. So glad she did have it done though, because she feels so much better now and is like a totally different kid.

My aunt is an nurse that specializes in the procedure....it seems like a pretty routine procedure these days, so I wouldn't worry too much. That said, good luck to your son and he'll be in my prayers.

:)

We're finally home!

I'm telling you, that driving in Northern Virginia is enough to give anyone a few grey hairs!

He was pretty quiet, I think he was a little worried! They let me and my DH stay with him until he was out! It does all seem pretty routine. He was sedated with Versed and Fentanyl and some other kind of "modern Sodium Pentathol" is how the anesthesiologist described it.

We were given 3 pictures, and were told by the Dr. that he does have lots of esophogeal irritation. They took some biopsies, but won't know the results for about a week!

Thanks so much for the well wishes, good thoughts and prayers, it all worked, and then some! ::yes::

Glad to hear he got through it o.k. Blondie! I would be a wreck if they had to put one of my kids under.

Let us know when you get the results.

(and don't even start me on Northern Virginia traffic. I'm immersed in it, every single day........ :( )

OMG, that traffic! It's horrid! I don't know how people who live here and work up there can handle it! :scared1:

Oops, and I forgot, for those who asked, my 14 y.o. is my oldest.

I'm happy everything went well Blondie.::yes:: Let us know when you get the results. I'll keep your son in my prayers.
Scott

Glad to hear all went well. Hope he is feeling better soon and that you get good results next week.

I'm glad to hear that everything had gone well. Hope he has a fast recovery and that you get some good news soon.

my son had his endocopy when he was 2 (!). we were looking for all sorts of different problems but found out he had eosinophilic esophagitis.

apparently it's a fairly new diagnosis out there and some teens and adults that have reflux not responding to medication should be evaluated for ee. you'll know if he has it when the biopsy reports come back.

it's nothing life threatening but there isn't a whole lot of info on it. pm if you want more info on this.

Glad you're home safe! Glad the tests went well, keep us posted on his results!

Pam

Glad the test went well today, Blondie for your son. Sure hope you get great news next week!!:D
