Would we be crazy to go 12/29-1/02? Are crowds awful?

Was thinking of visiting friends in Orlando that weekend for a long weekend. WIth the online 4 day pass, we can get tickets for me dh and 4 kids for $300!! This will be most time off for us as I am accountant and tax season will be hard to take off time. What is anyone's advice. i mean price so low, if we only did a few things maybe worth it still? I have never been before so all will be new to us!!
THanks so much!!

We go every year to Orlando for theweek bw Christmas and New years.Kids will usually need a trip back to the hotel .The crowds cannot be believed, lines for every service and food. It's a lot of fun but a lot of work.

You got that right! Plan to spend A LOT of time waiting for rides, shows and food. People everywhere. Remember...we have the Capitol One Bowl and the fans from both schools as well as the players are here that week.

There's two ways to look at this.

One, the people who plan the trip on the spur of the moment, check in late, arrive the parks at 11am, and find long lines.

---------------

Now, if you show up early each morning at 8am, you can get on the major attractions early. Then leave in the afternoon for the pool. Then come back at night. On realy busy days, the parks open as early as 08:30am, but it's not in writing, they just do it.

It's going to be a zoo at night, plus they charge extra to be in City Walk on NYE.

The morning of the 1st might be ok as most will sleep in with a hangover.

We went last year and it wasn't too bad. Wasn't as bad as MK on Christmas Day!

Evening seatings for dinner at any of the nice resturants with a view of shows or fireworks are a commodity. My fave is dinner in the castle at MK.Plan and make res way in advance. It is something special for the kids.My grands started taking us to Orlando in the 70s and the memories are cool.

Have you looked into buying the express plus passes. That would allow one express entrance to each attraction.
