Would this decrease the chances of future discounts?

Yes we are staying at the Boardwalk Inn. Last August we tried it for a few days after the Contemporary and liked it a lot so we stayed there again this past December and once again are staying there this coming August.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk twice but it has been quite sometime ago. We fell in love with the Beach Club and now money is a bit more tight so we do the Pop more often. We love the Epcot area. I love the Contemporary too but it seems so much harder to get the cheaper rooms these days.

You know you are going, and you have the airfare - those are set. Now you just need some help getting a discount. The best suggestion I can offer is to find a Travel Agent that is Disney Earmarked and work through them. Whenever discounts come out, they know and can get it applied to your booking. It doesn't cost you a cent to work with a TA, but a good one can save $$$ - sometimes a bunch. They are also good about itinerary assistance, too.

Let's have some fun. Let's say that there are a certain amount of people that make reservations in anticipation of a special offer. These are people that are Disney savvy as are the DISers. With the economy still not rebounding all that well and gas prices skyrocketing I would think that Disney is not getting enough bookings. So they decide to rollout a special - FD. Voila this is the special that the DISers have been waiting for and some/most change their reservations to the FD offer. I'm sure Disney picks up some new people but because so many DISers just change their ressies Disney's numbers aren't high enough. This leads to more specials and the cycle continues..
