Would Bcool if each Podcast team member would sit with Podcast crusers for each meal.

John could learn to play the harp and follow Kevin around as he sings...

I need to find a job so I can go. :)

Could be somewhat simply done. I know John probably knows the cruise director by name with all of the organizing he's been doing on this deal. Call the cruise director, or Who Ever he's been dealing with and say the Podcast team would like to be assigned to a different DISer group to eat with for each (Dinner Only). Maybe not individually sit at different tables, but lets say you and John, Corey and Julie, Pete and Walter, etc. You can even probably work out the groups you will be eating with prior to the cruise and forward those names to the Cruise director and say, Kevin & John to eat with Smith family dinner 1, Jones family dinner 2, blue family dinner 3, and so on. It could be done.

You make me smile.

:thumbsup2

5 podcast couples per dinner x 4 nights dinner = 20 tables.

Tables holding a maximum of 8 people x 20 tables = 160 people.

700 people - 160 that had dinner with a podcast couple = 540 that didnt.

540 people that didnt get to have dinner with a podcast couple = Flawed plan.

Try again.

but if you factored in four courses per meal . . .

:teleport:

80 tables

640 people

700 - 640 = 60 people who get to be serenaded during karaoke night.

:charac2:

Yeah, I don't see this happening. There's just way too many people going on the cruise. Besides that, shouldn't the podcasters be able to sit with their families during meals? I'm sure they will be "on the clock" enough as it is. A little break at mealtime is deserved if you ask me.

I agree with Nikki, let them sit with their families for dinner. Anyway Julie, and Corey will have a toddler, and a baby with them. You can't expect the babies to sit thru two meals.
You will see the crew enough during the trip. There will be multiple chances to meet and talk to them if you want too. ;)

Make you smile. That's awful kind. I honestly think you meant to say grimace. This could be a Prize-ma-tron thing, or just a drawing of some sort during a podcast. Win dinners with team members on the cruise. Could even use it as a selling point for the cruise. I think that there are people who might be interested and it could be worked out.

We had the luck of the draw and our table, which we shared with Lauren and Robert, was next to the Martin's table and Teresa's table. We had a great time talking across the tables with everyone but also it was great to see that they got time to spend with just their families without interuption. I fully understand how overwhelming it can be when you are interacting with 300+ folks. There will be plenty of time to meet the crew. Heck, Kevin even hit me in the head with a flask :) (Sleeping Beauty, 1959). What was just as fun was getting to meet all of our friends and enjoying their company. Great times Pre/During/Post cruise! I can TRUELY say that it was most memorable trip I had ever been on.

Do they (podcast beings) ever emerge from the stateroom? :rotfl:

I think there will be enough other opportunites to interact with the roundtable members that I don't feel the need to intrude on their privacy at dinner as well. Just my opinion, for what it's worth...

What I learned from PC 1.0 was running into the podcast crew was "luck of the draw". The best advice I could give is to enjoy your cruise. If you see a member of the crew don't be afraid to walk up to one of them, intorduce yourself, and say hi. They are all very open to speaking with anyone.

This may be being done already, but I think it would be cool if each Podcast team member would sit with a different Podcast cruise family during each meal of the cruise. I know the logistics would be a pain to work out, but I'm sure it could be done. It could also be worked out where the tables are enlarged to where more Disers could sit together. Sounds like a logistical nightmare and it probably is, but I think it would be a good idea.

Sorry, this won't work because they'll be sitting with me the entire cruise. Just sayin' :smooth:

The math problem of assigning podcast crews to podcast listeners tables is too much of a challenge for me!

I think I will just enjoy the cruise and let chance meetings happen. :goodvibes

I'm with Lisa. Not trying to be funny at all but if you listen, you'll know John and Kevin have said they prefer to not have dinner in the dining room anyway. And John doesn't even LIKE people. I get that this is a working event, but it is still a vacation for them too. Let's be respectful. They made themselves plenty available during PCC 1.0 - no need to invade on their mealtimes.

Being one who likes to play with numbers...and having experienced the pace of PCC 1.0, I would have to say it is near impossible. And certainly not easy.

I will be happy dining with other DISers, whom I am sure will be as wonderful as Jeff and Val and Chris, and running into the crew 'around the ship'. Honestly, it was like seeing another DISer. Just said hi and started chatting for a couple minutes, then off to something else.:goodvibes
