DH is taking me for a four day weekend October 7 - 10th, and Saturday night we are having dinner at the California Grill for my birthday, then on to someplace to watch wishes, then later we are going for drinks someplace. Who would notice if I wore white pants in October? Huge faux pas to wear white after Labor Day at Disney??? :confused3

Well now that you mentioned it-- EVERYONE will notice and point at you and giggle...

:lmao:

Do people seriously care? Wear what ya want and be comfortable!!

White pants in sun country are fine year round, unless you get caught in a rainstorm, then you'd better hope your undies aren't sheer. :scared1:

That sun country answer what was I was hoping to hear... Having lived in dreary upstate NY until three months ago, I wasn't too sure if I could get away with it or not. Surely in NY I would never be able to pull it off.

You probubbly couldn't get away with it in fashionista Dallas either, but you'd be surprised at the "fashion statements" you'll see at the parks. Some you'd rather not see.:rolleyes1

No, I would most certainly not try to pull off white that late here in Dallas. I am already self consious, I certainly wouldn't want to make a specticle of myself.

I don't think the fashionistas spend much time in DW -- just avoid the GF in your white pants and purple wool sweater with the felt green over sized collar and the orange crocks!

In the south we don't go by the calendar, we go by the weather. :thumbsup2
BTW, I'm a N.E. transplant so it was weird to me at first to see how the southerners dress.

That's not entirely true....I'm a native Georgian from Metro Atlanta, we (we as in my people and the people I most associate with) don't wear white after Labor Day or before Easter, even if it is 90 degrees and blazing. Our female relatives drill that in us from about the time we fall in love with our first pair of white patent leather church shoes, lol. ;) But Florida is a different kind of the south, white is appropriate there as long as the weather is appropriate. :goodvibes

I have read on several fashion websites and in magazines that the old white after labour day rule is no longer in fashion. Black & White is supposed to be really big this fall too.

This is true.... Having been a cosmetics buyer and following fashion trends the old "white after labor day" is out the window :thumbsup2

I personally follow the not before Easter or after Labor Day "rule" myself but if you watch "What not to Wear" they always say it is okay and that is filmed in NY!!! So wear what you feel best in, in the end that is truly all that matters! Hope you have a fantastic birthday in the World!!

When it's hot out, you can wear white all you want!
