Would a Dec use month work for me?

I am a teacher in the UK so will mostly be visiting in August and occasionally Christmas or Easter time.

I thought a Dec use time might work as I would get 2009 points which could be banked to use with 2010 points for August.

Thanks

My husband and I just bought in this summer and chose December as the start of our use year. It seems like it would work for us because he's about to be leaving for the military and any moves that we make will generally be during the summer and with a December use year you have until July 31st to plan so I figured we would definitely know our plans by then.

Being a teacher you'd probably have a similar schedule. :goodvibes

An AUG. UY would be better for you than DEC. It is best to get a UY in the month you travel the most or one just before it.

As a previous poster said, Aug is not ideal for you, but I would still consider it if you can get 2009 points and they let you bank them.

My use year is for December and I love it. I usually travel in September as it is a little cooler then and the crowds are down. Our longest wait was 40 minutes and that was for a newer ride. The wait for Soarn was only 35 minutes and rode Mt. Everest 3 times no problem because only 5-10.

Dec is a relatively poor UY for mostly August trip comparatively but it is workable with planning. Unfortunately it's likely the best option that will also give you 2009 points.

While Dec will work, I also think that an Aug UY might be a better option.

With August, you have flexibility to cover all the times you mention, but most important, still have time to rebook trips if you did have to cancel.

For example, if you had an April trip planned wth borrowed points and had to cancel, you would still be able to rebook that trip during July (assuming this is one of the months you have off as a teacher).

However, if you have a Dec UY and had an Aug trip with borrowed points that had to be cancelled, would you be able to rebook a trip during September through November. Since you teach, it seems like it would be difficult. Plus, that time of year is really busy and getting a last minute reservation might be more difficult.

Of course, an Aug UY won't get you 2009 UY points if you are going direct through Disney.
