worth paying preferred $ at CBR?

Finally made the decision to split between CBR and POR in August. Question we have is it worth to pay the extra 15.00 a nite for preferred rooms in Martinique and Trinidad N. or just request Aruba or Jamaca and hope for the best? I have a bad knee so figure I will get enough walking in the parks, let alone at the resort. Would Aruba be a good pick and pretty close over the bridge to PRC? Also- the slide @ the pool - is it pretty short and just straight -? Thanks, getting excited and August is far off - now just hope for discounts for August!

I would pay for a preferred room over a water view. I have stayed many times in Trinidad N. and Martinique. Also have stayed in Aruba.

I like being closer to the food court and main pool but you may prefer to be across the lake.

I wouldn't pay extra, the only thing we will pay extra for is a king bed. We always request and stay in Jamaica, we like the fact that it is quiet, but yet only a short walk over the bridge to OPR. Two years in a row when we requested a King bed, we also received a water view (Barefoot Bay), but to be totally honest, I would NEVER pay for the water view because not once did I gaze out my window at it NOR could I due to the fact that there is a balcony that is outside along the corridors, blocking the view. I would only pay for the preferred at Martinique or Trin North if you absolutely HAVE to be right next to the food court/pool. Other than that, it is a waste of money in my opinion, you'd be better off saving it and using to buy souvineers at DTD.
