Worst WDW meal ever!!!

We thought Toy Story Pizza Planet was really good. You get tons of food for a CS credit on the dining plan.:goodvibes

I did too. It was not bad at all. There is a sandwich shop on the corner, real close to Brown Derby. The meat is piled high. We really liked it. Roast beef, Turkey. They were really fresh and good. There are more than this, I just can't think of all of them.

We usually don't eat at the studios. I don't recall any terrible experiences, but there are too many really fun/good places to go at WDW to waste time eating something blah. :earsboy:

I agree about ABC Comm. No one liked their meal. We voted that ABC Comm. was our worst CS meal the entire trip. We were satisfied with Backlot Express and we really enjoyed Pizza Planet (most bang for your buck). We would have went back to Pizze Planet a 2nd time but had a terrible time getting our kids out of there.

Hands down - tommorwland terrace noddle station!

I agree I really don't like ANY restaurants in MGM CS or TS. I don't mind Brown Derby but find it is overpriced and overcrowded for what it is worth...same goes for sci-fi. I know a few people like mama melrose but being from NYC (and home of little Italy;) ) we were not impressed and both were sick. The counter service is even worse!

If we are at MGM we like to take the boat over to the Boardwalk/Yacht/dolphin area(on a 3 min boat ride!) and eat over there!

This thread makes me happy we opted to get an ADR for Sci-Fi for lunch on our MGM day next trip! Last time we went to the Commissary I had to scout for a table for the 5 of us for the whole 30 minutes my DH stood in line to get the food (and when I finally found a table, we were still short a chair and DS had to stand to eat)! That was our worst experience for CS meals on that trip.:sad2:

We have steered clear of the Commissary our last few trips. It is the one place that stands out in our mind as absolutely awful!

We stopped at the Flatbread Grill this time and it was pretty good. We had the pulled pork sandwich, salad & a hot dog. Nothing great, but not bad either.

When we go to MGM, we always eat lunch at the 50's Primetime. I think their roast beef is one of the best things I've ever eaten at Disney, the desserts are great, and the service is always fun. It's the only place we eat at when we go to MGM. Well, sometimes we'll drop by Sci-Fi for a milkshake.

I liked the Cuban and beans I had at ABC last month. DH got the curry which was not great but not horrible either. It was certainly better than most fast food places in the real world.

Concourse Steakhouse....have never had a good steak there and the service has really gone down the tubes.

I know we all have our own taste, but we ate there in Oct and our meal and service was great. We discussed why we had never ate there before. We were a party of 6 and we all liked what we ordered.

I agree we all have different tastes and different ideas of what good is.....we are real foodies and it just doesn't compare to other steaks on WDW property.

Well, I really don't like ever to be negative about ANYTHING Disney related, but I am going to weigh in here, because I agree so strongly that there are absolutely NO decent food options at MGM, aside from Brown Derby--but even that DH and I don't feel is worth 2 TS (if you're on the DDP). We avoid eating at MGM at all costs!!! We usually head to Epcot WS to eat after we're at MGM, or eat at the hotel or the Boardwalk before we go for Fantasmic.

The worst by far at MGM is Mama Melrose. the service is absoltuely AWFUL and the food was lukewarm and simply did not taste anything like good Italian food. 50"s atmosphere is so much fun, so if we had to this is where we would go again, but the food is fairly bland, plain, and greasy (well, to be fair, "Comfort foods" aren't really my thing, so that might be part of my problem with 50's!)

Sorry for the Disney bashing, I really hate to do it, but MGM food really does deserve the lashing! :sad2:

Yhe only places we ever eat lunch are toy story pizza plant and Sci fi we usually switch off every other visit. The kids love it and the food is edible.

We did the character breakfast at the Hollywood & Vine last October and found the food to be very good. Even though its hard to mess up breakfast food I found the selection, atmosphere, and food to be very good!

Other than that I think the reason we don't find ourselves eating very much at MGM is because of the amount of time we spend in that park. Until Disney adds more ride attractions at MGM (Toy Story Mania will help) we just don't spend enough time to justify eating at that park. We do ToT and RnR first thing when the park opens. Then we head over to do Muppets, Star Tours and Playhouse Disney. On the way out of the park we hit Great Movie Ride and sometimes Beauty and the Beast. Usually at that point it is around Noon and we decide to catch lunch back at our resort.

I would also add that having dinner at the Studios along with Fantasmic does make for a nice evening.

Last year we ate at the ABC Comm. and we all liked the food. I remember having the curry which I really liked.

For TS we ate at the Hollywood and Vine and thought the food was fairly good for a buffet bar.

Some places get good reviews and other days bad reviews. It all seems a little hit and miss. Maybe it depends on the workers that day.

Also, whatever happened to complaining. If you get a bad meal return it and say that you'd like to exchange it for something different.

The only place we will eat at in MGM is 50's Prime Time and the hot dog stand by TOT. We have had bad experiences at H&V and MM, not to mention all the horrible CS places.

Never see much about starring rolls which continues to be our favorite CS in MGM...We like to get a quick pastry there as a snack credit for breakfast, and this yeasr found the sanwiches and fresh fruit to be amoung the best...
