Worst, most obvious regift ever?

Ok, I have to agree with your relatives on this one. If I got a used toilet seat from someone, even if it had been sanitized, I don't think I could ever accept another gift from this person unless it was sealed by a factory.:rotfl2:

I agree LOL...this has to be the grossest gift I have ever heaerd of getting!

I received a sweater in a box. When I inspected it, the underarms of the sweater, how shall we say, had an odor!:scared1:

I'm not really into wearing other people's body odor.:rotfl:

OMG... we really need a throwing up smilie

Maybe she should give it back to him and awkwardly explain that she couldn't accept his gift because she just doesn't feel the same way about him, and that it could be misconstrued as sexual harassment. :rotfl2:

I wonder if he even realized it had wording on it? She must know him fairly well; personally, it would have creeped me out a bit to receive something like that from a male boss!

:rotfl2: The sexual harassment angle was another one we discussed. My sister is single but she's worked at this company for years. She's the office manager and it's a smallish, family-owned business. She used to work for the father but he's retired and several of his sons have taken over different aspects of the business. My niece used to work directly for this guy. From what I understand, he's not harassing anyone in any way. (My sister would never put up with something like that.) He's just really clueless when it comes to gifts.

Before he got married, he used to go to Tiffany and buy gifts for everyone but apparently his new bride has put the kibosh on that--I have to think she didn't know what these items said or they wouldn't have been given to my sister. My niece told me that he used to buy everyone very nice but not creepily inappropriate items. :rotfl: Apparently, money is tighter now.

I am legendary with my in-laws for regifting really bad gifts. We have a grab-bag gift exchange every year at Christmas. I had gotten a Christmas toilet seat from another gift exchange several years before. I loved it and used it every year, but then we moved to a new house with different-sized toilet seats. Well, I had to put that toilet seat in the family gift exchange. I cleaned and sanitized it well, and DH's step-sister ended up with it and loved it. All was well until DH tattled that it was used. I haven't lived it down since. And now even though I reassure my in-laws that my gifts are freshly purchased for the exchange, they don't believe me and steer clear of whatever I bring! (Thus, I always buy something I want, as I know I'll be taking it home!) :

You regifted a toilet seat???!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:lmao: Somebody wake up the Tag Fairy!!!!!!!!!!!

One time 4 my bday... my friend gave me a shirt from wally world. I have nuthin against wal mart but... she's just a bit( ;)) bigger than me and it was obvious that she couldn't fit in it... but she thought I could!:hippie:
<3 always PrincessEm

Not sure if this is considered re-gifting. I have an uncle who is a secret shopper for a thrift shop chain. For the family Christmas this year he apparently had snatched up tons of thrift shop sweaters, (various sizes) brought them to the party in a shopping bag and laid them all out for everyone to pick which one they wanted. Classy huh!
