worst experience at disney?

That's horrible, I agree!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

My worst experience was riding Alien Encounter during E-Nights at about 1am in the morning  I was the only one in the theater/room during this very scary attraction (just me and the alien...;) ) and had a pretty bad panic attack!

I'm sorry..but...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We go to Disney a LOT, so I will spare you from listing ALL of my bad experiences..but here's a few..

1. While putting glitter spray on my girls princess hair up-do's, some flew into my eye and stuck to my only pair of contacts...yup my fault for only bringing one pair..so I had to take a trip to a local walmart to pick up a new box.
2. We checked into Pop, which we usually love, dropped off the luggage, when we returned the room had an awful mold smell. I propped the door open trying to get rid of the smell, called housekeeping, and the front desk...they said everything was full..no other rooms...oh my..we decided to make the best of it, I took a shower and when I came out, I found the source of the mold...the whole wall in the bathroom was solid black mold!!! I called housekeeping, they came and cleaned it...now it's like 11 at night..LOL, and what did she clean it with...BLEACH!! now in a room with no windows that open, we just couldn't breathe...it was terrible..eyes watering, lungs closing up...AHHH Awful..

:worried: My worst didn't actually happen to me...Dh and I were at MK a couple of years ago when we noticed some disabled patrons getting on Jungle cruise, some could ride while others could not, so they were with a care giver. Later whe we exited Jungle Cruise and were walking past POTC we noticed them in their wheelchairs--caregiver on the phone. All of a sudden she screams that one of them is joking. Rushes to him. sweeps his mouth out and and starts screaming for help. We were stunned. Just then a very tall older man runs up before we can even respond and lifts the guy out and begins Heimlich. The sick man was very heavy and all of a sudden they are having to lay him down to do the Heimlich. It took several minutes for the POTC to get 911 there. They rolled out in a little cart from one of the buildings and all started working. A crowd was gathering and the POTC CM was making a loud announcement that "folks could enter POTC with no wait", I had to turn and stop a man from taking his kids along that way. I do not think it went very well.
It was amazing to see how fast they worked to help this gentleman, and then how they moved the crowd along. I still think about that man often...His name was Daniel....:worried:

Another time we were at DHS waiting for Fantasmic and a horrible storm blew up with lightening and the whole bit. Of course DH didn't think it was safe for us to be on metal bleechers, so we exited the park right before they cancelled the show...out at the bus there was a guy screaming at the Bus Commander at how he couldn't believe Disney didn't have bus waiting on him. It wasn't even raining yet. The Bus guy walked up to the man and very quietly but sternly told him that He was "fixing to evacuate a park filled with 40,000 people in about 15 minutes and to step back in line to wait his turn, he was working as fast as he could", almost laying his walky talky on the guys chest. So the man just turned around and got in line, heeheehee. One of the reasons we love Disney is how they manage transportation and feeding of thousands of people on a daily basis. They really know how to move people and are experts at staging.popcorn:: It is a facinating place to visit.::yes::

We had a "Grand Gathering" last February with my parents, my brother and his family, and my family (12 of us in all.) We were at Animal Kingdom and had fast passes for Everest in about 2 hours. To kill some time, we let the kids go play in the Boneyard. After about 15 minutes of running around, my 2.5 year old goes down the big twisty slide with his sister and breaks his femur! :scared1:

We started at Urgent Care, thinking he just tweaked his leg. Upon discovering the break, we were transferred to a hospital. Unfortunately, they didn't have a pediatric orthopedist on call, so we had to be transferred to another hospital! Three days later, My son, wife and I rejoined the rest of the "Grand Gathering" in time to hop on the magic express and head off to the airport.

Three months later, he was finally out of his cast and is pretty much back to normal!

Last day of our Honeymoon we spent in MK. We had allready check out of our resort and our luggage was in storage.

Prior to leaving MK to get our ride to the airport- Dh uses the bathroom in MK and ends up getting thrown up on ALL OVER by another guest! It was NASTY! His clothes- shoes- you name it- He was covered! :crazy2:

Ha---- Most memorable moment of our Honeymoon is DH getting thrown up on!

HAAAAA!!! That's too funny. I remember that ride (before they changed it to Stitch). I, too, would have had a panic attack. I probably would have come out of there crying!

I've been to WDW & DLR about 12 times. I've had small incidents happen but nothing too major (like a broken bone, or lost ressies). Probably my worst experience was my first trip at WDW. We went in the summer, had absolutely no plans for anything, and this was before fastpass. I vowed I would never go to WDW again (and just stick with DLR). Then they came up with Fastpass, I learned about "off season" and read up on some of the tips for a better vacation.

Vicadin + Mission Space = throwing up and a totally ruined day.

Vicodin for pink-eye? That's like destroying an ant-hill with a bazooka!

I know what you mean about the eyedrops though. We've gone through it a few times in my family and they're worth every penny of the $75 for the tiny 4ml bottle!

My Mother about 3 years ago who is scared to fly starting popping little pills on the flight like they were tick tacks. We had to get a wheelchair to get her off of the plane. At the resort we had waiting an ecv we rented to get around for stamina reasons and she kept driving into walls and such.
Ugh.

We were at WDW last June and I could swear I saw your very beautiful little girls on the way back to Pop Century. Am I right? ::yes::

My worst trip was actually the trip we didn't make. I was about 10 and we were leaving the next morning for WDW. My older sister and I got into a typlical sibling argument and my mom canceled the trip. Mom was the type that hated to leave the house and she would use any excuse to get out of a trip. I was heartbroken. I had only been once, when I was 2, and had almost no memories of that trip. I wouldn't go again until 2005, at 34 years old. DD was 4 and was all smiles. Since we have been 5 times with the 6th coming up in October. I guess I feel a need to overcompensate for my mother's actions.

Other than that, our worst experience was not all that bad. My DW and DD (8 years old) were at WDW May 30th - June 8th. We spent the first day at the pool, did a little shopping, and returned to the pool to cap off the night.

A little backstory. When I was 21 (way back in 1992), I was in an auto accident that ruptured 3 disk as well as causing a list of other problems that I won't bother to list. I spent nearly a year in physical therapy but managed to avoid surgery. Until about 3 years ago, my back went out about twice a year to the point I could barely stand up straight or walk. My Dr. prescribed my Vioxx and I would recover in a few days. But I had been hitting the gy m fairly regulary and hadn't had any problems lately.

Fastforward May 31st. I wake up and my back is out. Thankfully, the pain was mild... I just couldn't stand up straight. I looked like this.

My DW and DD frequently made fun of me.

I still rode everything without any problems. After four days of Ibuprofen and heat patches my back is straight and I am pain free. On the 5th day, our first ride is Space Mountain. Well guess what!? The ride jars me just right and I pinch a nerve in my back. I not can no longer turn me head without rotating at the waste prompting further mockery from my DW and DD.

It cleared up just in time to leave but it wasn't much of a problem. I mainly hated not being able to carry DD on my shoulders or piggy-back.

The bus schedule was horrible this time. We waited over thirty minutes on many occassions and over 40 on several occassions.

We spent the majority of our last day(June 7th) at HS and returned to MK for 6:30 reservations at Crystal Palace. We were aware of GayDays during booking and probably wouldn't have noticed GayDays attendees at HS and EPCOT had they not wore GayDays shirts. MK was a completely different story.

As we walked from Adventureland to Fantasyland, we noticed many gay couples lined up at the back wall making out. In the Peter Pan ride, one male had a visible tattoo depicting a... (I'm not even sure how to word this...) let's just say a well-used sexual partner. Another female had a tattoo of a scantily-clad women with her breast showing. The t-shirts were not any better. One read, "Spitters are Quitters". There were isolated either. There were hundreds of displays such as these.

While it far from ruined our trip, I thought Disney should do a MUCH better job of policing behavior.

I noticed dozens and dozens of other shirts that read (paraphrased):

Parking - $12
MK tickets - $63
Scaring straight people standing next to you in line - Priceless.

I thought WDW was about having a magical experience with loved ones, not making a political statement. Anyway, I doubt I would have been allowed to wear a t-shirt that explicitly called out gay people.

Well, now that I complained, I wanted to finish this post on a positive note.

With the exception of our waitress at the Garden Grill who was intent on pi$$ing off Mickey Mouse by calling him a rat and threatening to roast him (that's appropriate, eh?) character dining was fantastic. The characters took up so much time with DD and seemed genuinely interested in her. At the Grand Floridian, she became so flustered when the Prince Charming kissed her hand. You could tell he enjoyed it. When Cinderella stopped by, my DD thoroughly enjoyed rubbing in the fact that Prince Charming kissed her hand!!!
After PC and Cinderella danced, PC beelined to our DD to dance with her... and we were way out of the way for hime to do so. And again, leaving the restaurant, PC came to our DD and asked for a hug. She enjoyed it so much it nearly brought tears to my eyes.

Were hit the parks early and rode EVERYTHING. It was also our DD's 1st opportunity to ride Rock-n-Roll Roller Coaster and she LOVED IT! We must have rode it a dozen times.

There was also one evening, the bus was very crowded. We were able to get seats but an elderly couple was left standing in the front. I didn't notice until we began to move but at our first read light, I insisted the woman take my seat. She thanked me and that was the end of it... so I thought. After we returned to Pop and were walking into the gift shop, my DD put her arms around me and squeezed me tight and said, "That was very sweet of you to give up your seat for that lady... I'm very proud of you". That was probably the best moment of the trip for me personally.

I have never really had a bad experience at Disney - other than just being hot and crowded - but that's to be expected.

But I can say my sister had a pretty bad experience last time we went. We were in Disneyland and had just ridden the Matterhorn. It jerks you all around. We are hanging out by the water near the Haunted Mansion, and I noticed my sister's engagement ring looked a little weird. Turned out sit hit her hand on the Matterhorn and knocked the 2 carat diamond out! She was just sick about it. There was no way we would have ever found it, even though we looked. She was a trooper though and we spent the rest of the day there and still had a great time.

2 years ao we stayed at POP. DD is type 1 diabetic and was on an insulin pen at the time. We had requested a fridge for her unopened insulin which we got. We got to the room and stowed the insulin in the fridge and went to the park for the day. My friend put a pop in the fridge that night and when she got it out the next morning it was frozen solid... uh... and so was the insulin. DD's pen only had enough in it for breakfast and maybe lunch so I had to scramble to get more insulin. I went to concierge and got no apology or help at all. Turns out they turn the fridge on max when they bring it to cool it down quick. Even on max I have never seen one of those tiny fridges freeze a bottle of pop solid. I said I thought it was messed up and they said no.. they are just really good fridges ( whatever). So I went back to my room and started calling pharmacies to find her insulin. The closest one was half an hour away so with the courrier fees and the insulin I was out over $150. Of course her insurance would not cover it because we just got it filled a week earlier. We had to wait at the hotel almost all day because turns out she ran out before lunch so she could not eat until it came.. which it did at 4 pm. Poor thing was starving and all she could eat was cheese and a burger wothout the bun or ketchup.
This same trip we decided to dress up for lunch at CRT.. we found out the hard way adults cannot wear costumes in the parks. We looks like idiots, missed our ADR and I had a DD who lost her mind over not getting to eat there.
We honestly almost never went back after all of this. My friend had never been and she decided it was hell on earth.. but she went back with us last year and it was great.

You must have went either July 4th, Christmas Day, or in a dream because the longest wait time that Soarin' has ever had (historically) has only been 180 mins. As for the rudness, the only thing I could attribute that to is a large influx of foreigners and northerners!!!

large influx of foreigners and north !!!

Are you serious??? I mean, there are rude people everywhere, but you are actually saying that "foreigners and northerners" are the main reason???

WOW!

I believe that was posted with a great deal of sarcasim.

Our complete February trip was terrible! :faint:

First, our flight was delayed six hours due to mechanical issues. We were on Jet Blue so we didn't bring any electronics in the carry-ons, three kids with nothing to do is not fun! Then, on our second night there, my DD13 got food poisoning, she could barely walk for two days and couldn't tolerate food for a week. We couldn't go to the restaurants we wanted to nor could she go on hardly any rides. I know we should have known better in the winter, but the weather was also bad with the high being 50 for three of the days. Not that I wanted 90 degree weather here, but 70 might have been nice. To top it all off, I accidentally gave the secret about the characters away to my DD3!

Talk about a bum trip! :headache:

As a mother of a type 1 diabetic, that stinks. What a nightmare. Thanks for the heads up about those fridges;)

:scared1: Oh no! I hope you didn't tell her about Santa, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy too! *HUGS AND COMFORT!* That's one of the reason's we're excited about taking our DD3. Everyone says we're crazy, but she's at that perfect age where she doesn't logically KNOW that someone could possibly be dressed up as Mickey Mouse! When she meets Stitch she may pass out lol.

Wow! Aren't you asking to get flamed!! If you were being sarcastic, which I assume is the case, you may want to let people know that cause it isn't necessarily coming off that way. There are alot of foreigners and northerners on the boards who may not like how you said that! As a northerner I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

I'm a foreigner and I took it as a irony rather sarcasm;) . Some people need to learn to laugh at themselves rather than take offence at a few jokes.

Totally agree. I'm glad to hear you feel that way. I just know some people don't feel that way though! I just hate to see anyone on here say something in a totally innocent and joking way and have people get upset with them. That is why I'm hoping Jamescory will let people know that that is the case. Reading back on my message it could come off that I was getting on his case which wasn't my intent. I was just trying to help!
