WORST DISNEY DINING EXPERIENCE

Don't get angry with me, but I don't understand how the food in any of the places can be disgusting. If it really is that bad, like I have said before, Disney people need to be informed about what is happening. They want people to have good experiences, no matter the situation.

I have never had a bad meal at disney.. but to be honest any meal that I have, that I don't have to cook and clean up after is great...

But we didn't like the food at akershus.. but my daughter got to hold Aurora's hand and lead the processional with her, so guess where we are going this year...

I also didn't care for the food at 1900 park fare, thought it was limited choices, but the sisters and Lady Tremaine make it a must do!!!

We have done all the buffets on property over the years, but now that both kids are "adults" I am trying to steer away from them. But sadly... the best character interaction is as buffets...(for dinner)

But on a brighter note, i got FD and I don't have to cook (or clean) for 9 days!!! :)

Worst dining experience:
San Angel Inn tied with Chef Mickey's dinner:
awful food + terrible service = Will never return

Ours would be Tony's and Whispering Canyon. Neither was awful per se, but the food wasn't worth paying Disney prices. At WCC, we actually had really great service for breakfast and I would consider going again, but definitely won't get the skillets, those in our party that didn't get the skillet were way happier. Tony's we were rushed through our meal, the chicken parm tasted like it was heated in microwave with jarred sauce, but the calamari were tasty. So even for our two worst dining experiences there were highlights.

On time I grabbed a corn dog at MK. Bad mistake. I thought they were supposed to be similar to the Disneyland corn dogs which are delicious.

After several great meals at Sci Fi, I finally had a bad one a few weeks ago. We usually eat lunch there but this was the first time we had dined there for dinner. I would have gotten my old reliable entree which is the Smoked Turkey Sandwich but I had something similar earlier in the day for lunch. I decided to go with the House-smoked St. Louis-style Pork Ribs. Big mistake!!!! These ribs were equivalent to what you would expect to be served at a McDonalds. It was as if they had been left over from lunch. If I had to describe how they tasted I would say imagine eating a Slim Jim off of a bone. On top of that, one member in my party ordered a Long Island Lunar Tea. Well, apparently the bar tender was on break so the manager tried to make it. The waitress straight up told us that he had no idea what he was doing. Needless to say, it was horrible. Once the bar tender returned, that member of my party was given a properly made one.

I've been going to Disney since it opened, restaurants as well as quality, have at times, come and gone. For us nothing "inedible" nor "disgusting". Ohana's cold noodles, not the end of the world, Chef de France, edible but uninspired. Tony's, years ago, disappointing, I recall massive heartburn though! We stick to signature rest. now! The Brown Derby, love, love, love the pork chop, medium that's how I make it and order it! Tastes differ, make up your own mind,

We dined at Whispering Canyon Café recently for lunch and was less than enchanted with our service. My family visited the restaurant for a special event and was less than impressed Our server had limited ability to communicate in English and was not understanding the concept of the restaurant. She was not friendly and definitely had no pixie dust. Will knock this place off our list of places to visit.

AMEN!!!

I know that WCC has it's very loyal fans, but we've had TWO horrible experiences at their location. I refuse to go back. Once in 2007 and again in 2009. They overbook...people linger and eat the all-you-can-eat dishes (which is fine; but DIS needs to account for that w/ booking)....we wait and wait and wait long past our approximate reservation time. We had bad servers...last trip we wound up getting our whole meal comp'd. That was very nice of them, but it really wasn't enough. I honestly really want to like it....just can't.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Nastiest restaurant was Hollywood & Vine for dinner. Absolutely filthy, worse than Shoneys on the all you can eat seafood buffet night! The floor was incredibly sticky and there was food everywhere. The entire time we were there 6PMish ADR, there wasn't a single table bussed, dirty dishes everywhere. Food was lukewarm at best, even the cold items.

It was dirty the time we ate there in 2004, as well. Haven't been back since. We love 50's Prime Time - especially when they put my playful husband in the corner for "misbehaving!"

Three pages of messages on this topic and not ONE warning about Marrakesh!

Well, just in case you've never been -it's horrible. I realize there are some that like it, but our meals were so bad we will never be back. To put it in perspective, my wife has eaten Sea Urchin -have you seen Sea Urchin? She thought Marrakesh was worse.

OMG I created an account just to agree with you! I went years ago in the 90's with my family and everyone loved it, but in recent years I went with my fiance and everything was just so dry and bland! (Also, I have had Sea Urchin in various forms including in sake, and I agree it's quite horrible. I've given it about as many chances as I've given Marrakesh!) I will say this: We were allowed to keep the glasses our drinks came in, which were BEAUTIFUL. However, that doesn't make up for a VERY expensive disappointment.

That's funny ....Welcome aboard!

Yes. It was the same with us -dry and bland.

Our worst meal on property was Le Cellier. Everything was so salty, like turning my tongue numb salty. We were stuck in a half booth half table area back in the corner of the restaurant next to a family who had pushed together the booth and two tables and then a chair on the end. It was very crowded. When we asked to move tables (there were several tables open) they said that we couldn't and if we moved we would lose our ADR. This was the only meal we have ever had to complain about on Disney property.

Worst Service: Wolfgang Puck's. This was in '07 on our Disneymoon. Our server was openly flirting with me in front of DH. He asked where we were staying and for our room number! I am totally not joking. I think I remember that our room number ended up being on our receipt because we were on DDP and being really creeped out him being able to know where we were. We were supposed to check out the next morning and ended up leaving that night instead, partly because of this experience and partly because I fell trying to catch the bus after dinner. We were just done that night. Period. I'm so glad it was the last night of our trip and not the first!

Worst Food: Crystal Palace. Completely gross. This was 2013

We have a dinner ressie at Chef Mickey's for June and I'm so scared. I've heard so many horrible things. The ONLY reason we booked it was because we let both our girls choose a restaurant (we spent lots of time explaining all of the restaurants to them) and this was the one DD6 chose. I guess I should have left it off the list to tell them about! (DD5 chose 1900 Park Fare).

If you can get a reservation at Garden Grill in EpCOT, it might be a good substitute for Chef Mickey's: much more relaxing and the characters spend a good amount of time at the table. Minnie is not there, but you could catch her at the nearby character spot!...just a thought.

Tutto Italia. I gave that place two chances on two different trips, figuring that I just caught them on a bad night, but both times I had pasta sauce that tasted like they'd just dumped a can of Chef Boyardee on my plate. My niece's chicken was inedible on the second go round and I wound up having to feed her back at the resort later. So, won't be going back there. For what they charge I'm not willing to give them a third strike.

For bad service, I would have to go with Marrakesh. Our waiter was incredibly inattentive on a night where the place was not busy at all, and at the end of the meal when he brought the check he actually said, "don't forget my tip." Like, really dude? I wouldn't have stiffed him because my Mom worked in food service for years and I know how sucky the base pay is, but to actually be *told* to tip? Ugh. I *would* go again though, because I really liked my food and am sure to get a better server.

I'll name a favorite which has been mentioned here quite a bit: San Angel Inn. My sister and I *adored* our meal there. The service was excellent, the food very good, and the atmosphere can't be beat. I found the portions just right.

Hands down worst for us was Tony's! Have not been back in the past 5 trips! We had a bad table location and no they would not move us even though the restaurant was half empty! Terrible server, and worse food. It was a cold Feb. night and we really wanted a nice relaxing dinner to warm up but instead we got nothing but grief.

A close second would have to be Chef Mickeys breakfast, again a "one and done" for our family. Had much better service, food and interaction at Garden Grill lunch and Cape May breakfast.

A couple of places have been so-so and we have waited a trip in between to try again, they are just inconsistent for us: Primetime 50's and San Angel.

We have had good meals at Marakkesh despite what others have experienced :confused3 .

I think you can probably have a bad experience anywhere based on the circumstances of the day.

I have two new ones: Garden Grill and Chef Mickey's. I've eaten at both numerous times. In fact, I have told people are here at both were fairly good. We just returned from a trip. We ate at both. They were both terrible this time around. At Chef Mickey's all the food was cold, the character interaction was ok. Garden Grill the characters were awesome but the food was terrible. We won't be going back to either for a while.

anything from the china pavilion...quick service or nine dragons...yuck

Man, I'm getting depressed reading these. It's because I'm going to Disney in under 50 days and a few of these places are on my ADR....

I am going to preface this by saying there was absolutely nothing wrong with our food here. Just everything else was awful.

We recently celebrated our four year wedding anniversary (March 19th) and got ADR's at Le Cellier for 6:30 pm that evening. Which was perfect, as we wanted to dine there and watch Illuminations at the Rose & Crown. However ... This is where the evening starts to go South.

1. Upon arriving, we were told even though I had the email from Disney Dinning and ADR listed on MDE that they did not have our reservations.
2. We were then told to come back at 7:30 and we would be seated by a manager. When we returned, the manager was off duty and no one remembered who we were. Thanks.
3. After much-a-do, we were seated around 8:00. However, they basically just stuck some random table with two chairs as close to a pillar in the back of the restaurant as they could to seat us. No flatware, no water glasses, nothing. Not even a table clothe.
4. Sitting there for a good 20 minutes before anyone even so much as looked at us, we finally were able to order some drinks and an appetizer to share.
5. After ordering, that was seriously the last time we saw our waitress. Well, at our table anyway (or so we thought). Our drinks came after our appetizer did (still not even water was offered) and then it took a good 45 minutes to receive our meals. Not good. All from two separate servers who claimed since our table was not on the "dinning lay out" we got lost in the shuffle. REALLY? Lost in the shuffle? What are we the Joker here in a deck of cards? I mean we were sitting pretty much right next to the darn server's station.

The Final Straw (after a wonderful meal to be honest with you)

Our original waitress came by to drop off our INITIAL drink order (from well over an hour prior at this point) and asked if we were ready to order. Ummmm, sweetheart ... We're done here. Or did the clean plates of food in front of us not give that away? After speaking with someone who came over from guest relations (not a Le Cellier manager) did we have an ear that actually seemed to care about what was going on here.

Look, we were not looking for anything free here. But it was our anniversary and it was a bit of a let down at this place we actually have never had any issues with prior to this evening.

We are not ones to make scenes or demand something be free. Far from it. However, this manager comped our entire meal (including alcohol) ... Offered to have us back anytime we chose for another meal on them (minus alcohol of course) and pay for our valet parking. Though we have Tables in Wonderland and do not have to pay for valet at resorts (which we told him).

We thanked him and explained we would gladly take the comped meal and that was enough. We just wanted to call this point out to someone who could/can make a difference in someone else's experience and learn from ours down the road.

Happy Anniversary :)
