In 2005 our family and our friends went to WDW. It was their first and only trip to Disney. While they enjoyed it, they didn't catch the "bug". Hawaii is their love. We've been back one other time since 2005 and have another trip booked.

When we went in 2005 I booked both our rooms under my name so we could use my AP discount. A few days ago we received some mail here, at my house, addressed to my friend. Last night it dawned on me and I wondered if it might be the code promo. It was.

I never, ever get codes and now when I get one mailed to our house its addressed to our friends!!! I could cry.

What would happen if I called to make a ressie and gave them the code? Would it automatically pull up under their name? I'm so sad!!!

It's certainly worth a phone call or two. You never know if you don't try and it will drive you crazy not knowing. Good luck!!

I just put out a post about this exact thing. You should be able to use the code. I am. It is associated with your address. I had the exact same thing. My MIL name is on the card but our address. Call and ask. Also, if you don't get the right answer the first time., Call again. I mean it call again. This should not be a problem for you. Good Luck! Here is some pixie dust for you :wizard:

So I'm assuming your MIL doesn't live with you and won't be traveling with you? What did you tell them when you called? Wouldn't I need the flyer at check in and wouldn't it be a problem that it doesn't have my name on it?

I'll go look for your other post. Thanks! I'll try calling this afternoon when I figure out what I'm going to say!!!

I was told by several CMs that as long as the address matched, then you can use it. This codes/pins are sent out to HOUSEHOLDs. That means only the address has to be the same.

My friend got one at her house, with her moms name on it. The last time they went to disney was in 1994, she was only 12 then, so obviously the reservation was made in her moms name. I helped her book a trip using this, and the guys said it was no problem, as long as when she checks in she has the postcard and her ID has a matching address.

Liz, I didn't say anything! I just called the number on the postcard and entered the pin when they asked. I guess all the information came up. She asked me my name, I told her and she proceeded with the reservation. If you feel you need to say something, say " I got a postcard with my realatives (hey your close friends) name on it and was hoping that since it came to my address this was available for me to use"

And No my MIL doesn't live with us. And I don't need the postcard.
Good luck. Oh and make sure you are trying to book in the dates listed. It won't work outside of the dates.

Okay, I will report back after I call, but I'm going to wait till this afternoon, especially since it sounds like their system is having issues right now. I'll report back! Thanks for the encouragement and pixie dust!

Hi: If you get nowhere, ask to speak to a supervisor. It has your address on it, I think yu could politely argue the point of it being half correct. After all if your friend's name is on it but not her address it is still half wrong, but they would accept that. If this makes sense, lol.

Good Luck,

Deb.

A friend of mine used a pin code addressed to someone else with no problems 2 yrs ago. I'd definately try it.

Does anyone have any idea how you get on the list of those graced with mailings and e-mails with pin codes? I've been going to WDW forever, and have never gotten one.

Afraid not, if we did, we would all be getting them. I have never gotten one either. Just make sure they have your email address and that is about all you can do.

SUCCESS!!! :cool1:  :cool1:

I called and after giving the PIN the CM gave my friend's name. I said she came with us on our last trip but it was my understanding since the postcard came to my house I was eligible to use it. SHE SAID YES!!!

I tried to upgrade to Wilderness Lodge but nothing was available so we still have ressies (for December) at Caribbean Beach and I saved some money! She said it was good on a package or room only. Now I'm debating about calling back and turning it into a package with dining. We've never done the dining plan but I've always wanted to try it. I'm just not sure what to do with four 1 day passes we'd have to buy (we already have passes leftover from a previous trip).

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I don't know that I would have tried otherwise!!! :wizard:
